I didn't wanna post this in the media forum cause I figure it's more at home here... considering it's subject matter.

I can't say I was a fan. It mostly just annoyed me. I'm not much for the cable soaps. I'm glad there was at least A gay show on tele though.

Woohoo!

I'll be honest, I haven't seen the entire series (yet) but I am catching up. I'm currently watching early Season 3 and loving it. My favorite characters are Michael, Debbie, Melanie and Lindsey. Emmett never fails to crack me up and Ted always makes me go "Aww..." everytime something awful happens to him. I guess I could relate but at the same time you just wanna snap him to his senses and realize that life isn't all that bad.

Now Justin. I think at times I relate to him the most but there are moments when I just feel like he's this entirely different person. I suppose that's just how they had intended to write his character. It's the same with Brian. He hides behind this facade and is hard to read sometimes. One minute I wanna strangle him for refusing to attend Melanie and Lindsey's wedding and the next I'm near tears when he offers to stay.

I somewhat hated him in the beginning but with every episode we see different sides of his character and it begins making sense. Also, I mostly watch this show for the drama, the writing and...I'd probably get burned at the Babylon dance pole for this, but I despise the sex scenes. No, really. Some are tasteful, some are sweet...but most just seem to be thrown in for the sake of being edgy.

That said, I love this show. It's funny, it's touching and even though not every gay person in the world lives their life the way QaF characters do, I think this show has something that a lot of people can relate to. The emotions are universal and that's why I think many viewers (including straight ones) are drawn to it.

Very true.

Maybe I overexaggerated a little, cause it's not the best written... sometimes it's a little predictable... but overall it's fun to watch.

I haven't watched the whole series either... I'm only just beginning Season 4.
I pretty much like all characters... Ted lost a little sympathy from me.. but still I like the metamorphosis, how he was so organized and work-oriented, and then it all just came crashing down with the porn industry and junk.
Emmett was more enjoyable in seasons 1-2... he seems to be losing his flare..

Michael, Brian, Justin, and Ben are a step up...

I also somewhat sympathize with Justin. He's like the kid who just keeps on trying and trying and never gives up til he gets what he wants.

I hated QAF, because they made all gay guys look like whores.

I don't take requests. :-)

I dont think you missed out on much... Just a lot of gay related issues, and random drama. Although, there was a LOT of naughty guy on guy action going on, which always = fun!!!!! LOL PG13, right.... i amlost forgot.... hehehehe Now True Blood is something to watch. But, you do have to stomach the occasional nude girl.... but it's nothing a quick google of "shirtless guys" wont fix.... hehehehe

I've always said that "True Blood" was just "Twilight" with boobies, butts and the "F" word. I would say that almost every eppisode you see somebodys whatnots hanging out, and flopping about..... They just like to have sex and be naked on that show.

I don't take requests. :-)

I hate the American version. But UK-original is awesome.

I will absolutely agree with this! The UK original, first and best as written by Russel T Davies is near perfection in most places. It had something to say and went in there and said it and ended. The characters were better, the writing was great, .and the acting was top notch.

The USA quasi-remake was a clogged toilet comparison. Shallow characters and even shallower plots with paper-thin logic and believability.

The UK original is legendary and glorious.
Avoid the USA turgid soap version at all costs though. It's just bad TV if nothing else.
