Default SimPE won't let me clone fences
Ladies, gents, and assorted others, I beseech you once more for your advice. I'm trying to clone a fence, but for whatever reason, the clone option is actually greyed out in SimPE. It's been a while since I've done it, but it hasn't done this to me before, and I'm truly vexed.

What happens if you just press start? My guess is that cloning isn't really grayed out, it's just not providing a drop down menu, because the other usual option, "recolor" isn't available for fences.

I believe you also need to check "reference original mesh".
