Monica Bratford's first visit to the Curious household got off to a rocky start when she didn't understand Tycho's request for attention. She's obviously never been around children, which is a disadvantage here.

However, Mitchie undertakes to entertain her while Uncle Vidcund fixes lunch, and she starts to get the hang of it.

Cheerleader Eva Smith could use some lessons in tact. Mickey Dosser puts a good face on it, but he's secretly resolving to bag at least one woman that Gunnar Roque hasn't already broken in!

"Hi, mister! Did you have a nice soak in our hot tub?"
"Yeah. It's nice of your folks to not chase people out of it."
"I have real nice folks. Can you do times tables?"
"Um, mostly, but I, uh, have to get home."
"Okay. See you around."
Circe, who is enemies with Trent (I think she considers the broken-down trailer a public eyesore), has a legitimate reason to walk up this hill, as she lives at the top of it, but she was eyeing the trash can and giving the visitor the stink eye, obviously wishing for the witness to go away, for some time before giving up when Tina came out with her homework. It is now about 5:30 AM.

David invites Tank to Sharla's birthday party, a crush of people, all having a good time, from David's grandma to his baby brother and sister. Tank hasn't been around toddlers since Buck was one. They seem to have gotten more interesting and less annoying in the interim. This is why I like Tank.

And this is why I like Gunnar! First time, ever, with anybody, Stella didn't stop dancing after two seconds! By the end of his grad party she was still about one point off being friends with him - but if she were straight, he'd have laid her by now. And he keeps converting women with negative chemistry into double-bolters. The man has a talent, and I am not talking about the drums!

The only music at Sharla Ottomas's birthday party is toddler Dorothy plinking away at her xylophone, but there's plenty of dancing, all the same. This is much more successful than the Drama Acres Sharla's birthday, which not only didn't have a party, but featured Dora dropping dead while potty-training Ted in the same moment that Sharla grew up.

Pascal admires Monica Bratford during her first date with Vidcund. Hold your horses, Pascal, I'm getting your own redhead to you as fast as I can!

This is Teo.

So, I decided to send Teo downtown for a little R&R away from his overtly douchebaggy and abusive brother, Edmund. I have him seated at a table, order up a blended juice drink, and before I know it, Teo's face-to-face with his first drink at the bar. I should've known this'd go horribly wrong.

First thing he vies for after gulping down the pint is to annoy Sandy Bruty, a fairly innocent townie who'd just wanted to admire him. I found this odd, since Teo's a nice (well, nicer than Edmund), shy Sim, the complete opposite of his brother (kind of).

Next thing I know, he's laughing (loudly) over a joke Sandy tells him afterward. Shy Sims...aren't supposed to laugh that loudly. Definitely drunk.

Then Teo made his own fear come true, autonomously. If that's not a drunk Sim for you, then I don't know what is. -_-

Oh, and by the way, this happened while he was laughing at Sandy's joke--

WTF is going on in his pants?! Did the bartender spike his drink with Viagra or something? I ordered the bartender to get him a VIRGIN, FFS!

If you're confused about what's going on with his pants, McChocolatey, perhaps Sandy Bruty, who's a Romance sim, could explain it to you?

Selected highlights of the Day of Grad Parties at Scholarship House:

"I see y'all don't need any help from me enjoying yourselves!"

Harriet dutifully hugs her brother-in-law Zeke, who is resolutely thinking about his brother Isaiah rather than about what Harriet and her fiance Ted, there in the foreground (and his drawers) have been doing to contribute to the party score. Although it looks as though she's prepared to tell him all about it. Ezekial's the one that took the Hawkins name, but he's still not quite settled in to the identity. I don't think Ted's going to have that problem.

Harriet can't believe how big her niece Dove's gotten in such a short time! She was barely a toddler when Harriet left home.

Dove has no shortage of aunts at this shindig, and they're lining up to play with her. Literally. Here she makes best friends with Aunt Naomi before going out to let Aunt Kestrel swing her around in the front yard.

Vidcund Curious and his husband Phil adopted a child from the adoption agency by the name of Kayla.

"So, were you ever taught how to study?"
"No, my momma and dad weren't able to before the lady in the van took me away."
"Oh, why were you taken away?"

"Er...THEY WERE ABDUCTED BY ALIENS!"
"Interesting."

"You mean like the ones on the TV, Kayla?" Pauper piped up, eyes glued to the screen.
"Yes, just like them! Big, and ugly, and smelly, and green..."
"HEY."

"We do not tolerate RACISM in this household." Vidcund snapped.
"How is th-....okay...I was joking, anyway..."
"Wasn't very funny."
"...my parents drowned. I found the bodies."

The house was silent in slight shock for a moment, then Phil broke the silence and offered their new daughter a trip to the clothier. She gladly accepted.

Ashleigh Pitts-Upsnott seems intrigued by whatever suggestion Katelyn is making here.

But when push comes to shove, it's not cows she's interested in. "Scram, straight guy - we've got stuff to do."
"Do you now? What if I just sat quietly in a corner -"
"Scram!"

Katelyn has other fish to fry, anyway. "Why do you go around in that ridiculous get up, even here, anyway?"
"Contractual obligation. Don't you like my cow outfit?"
"Darlin', nobody likes your cow outfit! It covers your pretty face!"
Katelyn doesn't get enough flattery to pass it up when it comes along.

At the moment, the cow mascot is more popular than the llama mascot. "How long is he going to stand there cheering?"
"Until one of us kicks him out the door. I'll do it - it's my house."
"Hurry!"
"You heard the lady! Get out!"

I don't think that Samantha Ottomas quite realized what she was in for when she accepted that teaching position in the Strangetown school system: if she's bothered by zombie Matthew Hart and crazy Sarah Love, how's she going to react when she sees her class? Meanwhile, Dora descends the steps to dispense with some arguments before work.

Sylvester and Felix Kat (incorrectly) speculate on the cause of their mom's recent weight gain.

Joshua takes a page out of his brother Grimm's book in order to tell Beth that, while he hates to be the "bear-er" of bad news, it's really late and she needs to get some sleep.

Vidcund -- with a little help from Dr. Ursus Lepus -- goofs around with his son Sputnik.

When the Curiouses visited Nervous Specter and his housemate/caretaker Christy Inada, Pascal's daughter Mitchella thought Daddy spent waaaaay too much time talking to Christy out at the gate.

A coach and a cow mascot exchange nefarious plans. Also, burping is funny.

Ted Ottomas hadn't showered yet when the college timer ran down and his grow-up animation overtook him. He was taking the compost out in his drawers, and grew up into a new set of drawers.

Castor, what exactly are you telling your romance-inclined son in front of his newest girlfriend, and why do Jane and Samantha seem to be down with it? I call this irresponsible parenting! "Ah, yes, I remember when I had three loves at once..."

Denise FINALLY rose from the dead as a ghost. She died right when the twins were born, and now they're a quarter way through their teen lifespan. Lazy ghost.

Over time, I sold the crappy bed they owned in exchange for a much better quality bed. Which means she was not a happy spirit.

She took it out on Henri.

Yeah, well, suffering for new experiences. It all comes out in the wash.

"Say, Guy! You know Heidi's been fretting about how to break up with Dominic. I bet she'd be really grateful if you shortcut the process!"
"Grateful, huh?" Guy smirks. "You're a real humanitarian, Honey! Only have her best interest at heart, do you?"

Heidi thinks Guy just has a question about how to do his hair when he starts interviewing for jobs; but when a compliment on her fashion sense segues into a reference to how well she kisses, she slides into a favorable response, right in back of the chair where Dominic's studying, without noticing.

Dominic leaps to his feet as if stung, and Honey seizes her opportunity. (Yes, yes he was studying in his swimsuit in the middle of winter.)

Heidi is shocked and appalled. "Honey! What are you doing?"
"I've always loved Dominic! And I'd never ever cheat on him like you've been doing!"
Suddenly everything's clear to Heidi. "You've both been playing me for a fool, haven't you? You weren't ever interested in me! You were practicing for her!"
"No, I -"
"Don't even talk to me!"

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

Ehh, he's really sloppy anyway. It's not like he cares. He started to attract flies, though...

Jean-Baptiste and Henri went out for dinner at a restaurant.

Some Downtownie swipes Henri's meal before he even has the chance to put down his glass!

"But I....I was hungry. You stole my food. You stole my food that I ordered."
"Huh. Oh well."

Something has to be done.

Henri is about to throw his glass into the thief's face, but decides to snag his food back when he puts down the dish. He refuses to acknowledge the impolite elder.

"Jean, the service here sucks! I don't think we should tip!"
"Pfff. We shouldn't have to pay for treatment like this."
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking, brother?"
"Let's get out of here before the host notices! HE can deal with our bill!"
