Default Haunted Mansion challenge
Story:
Your family has unwittingly moved into a haunted mansion, many of the rooms are locked and keys are missing. A strange fog surrounds the mansion and as no sim in town is willing to approach the mansion you won't be getting fire or police support. There are many dead burried or in urns around the lot and as you find out about the hauntings you also find out that you are unable to move out of the mansion.

You will need the following mods:
Nrass Master Controller(to make the ghosts' graves)

Rules:
1.cancel the newspaper
2.no calling for police or the fire department, the town knows the house is haunted, they will not come.
3.NO Ghost hunters are allowed on your lot. it would defeat the purpose of the challenge to have them de-haunt your mansion.
4.only 4 rooms are allowed to be unlocked at the start (entrance room and first hallway don't count for this)
5. 2 of the rooms must be essential rooms(Kitchen or food area, 1 bathroom, 1 sleeping area)
6.only one bathroom and/or sleeping area may be unlocked at the start, that sleeping area may only have one bed or other sleepable surface(this includes a double bed as it's a single mattress, bunk beds count as 2 beds, this also means you can't have a living room and a bedroom unlocked at the start because a couch counts as a sleepable surface.)
7.The house should have at least 3 floors(one can be a basement)
8.hallways are not allowed to have open connections to other rooms, they must have a door even if it's the end of the hallway.
9.for unlocking rooms, any door that leads from a room to the hallway gets unlocked when a room is unlocked.
10. stairwells must be in their own seperate room from the hallway. both the top and bottom rooms of the stairwell count as 1 room and they may only go between 2 floors. no 3 or more story stairwells or elevators.
11. only one elevator allowed on the lot, it may go between 2 floors and no more, the elevator may only link between 2 hallways.
12. any npc sim that comes to your lot and dies must have their grave added to your lot, increasing the number of ghosts haunting the mansion.

Set-Up:

First you need to make 2 or 3 full households of randomly generated sims, try for as few "twins" as possible. full household means 8 sims each in case you have a mod that allows more.
This means your starting ghost count is either 16, or 24.

Certain traits are not allowed for the ghosts that you made(make them as living sims, not the supernatural expansion pack ghosts), these traits are anything that could be considered "Helpful" in a typical challenge. if your random traits come up with a helpful one then the first trait to be replaced must be replaced with Evil. this means Good, and Friendly are also not allowed(we want the ghosts to be threatening). The "Family Oriented" trait MUST be replaced with "Dislikes Children" if it comes up, reguardless of weather it is the first replaced trait or not.

After you've got your households, move one into a lot and play it, then using Nrass Master Controller select the "Sim" option if you didn't click a sim, in the sim menu click "Advanced" and then "Force Kill" after that choose how each of the sims of the household died, try to make each one different rather than just having them all be "blunt force trauma" or some other one. so one died of Drowning another died of a Meteor and another died from Electrocution. Repeat this process for your other ghost households.

Now that you have your ghost households' graves in the town graveyard's mausoleum create the family you will be playing as. The family is required to have, 2 parents(adult or young adult), 1 child(Child or Toddler). The child can be either gender and you can use a bigger family if you want more of a challenge.

for your family you may have at most 4 helpful traits to spread out between every member, meaning if you have Green-Thumb and Natural Cook on one parent, you may either put 1 helpful trait on each other the other 2 members, or put both on one of them. the Brave trait or any trait that would make the sim want to see ghosts is not allowed.

Once that is set find the most secluded area of the map you're playing on that can fit a minimum 60x60 lot. if there is already a secluded lot like this in the map you may use that one after clearing it off. For example in the Night Life world use the park at the top of a waterfall's lot(i don't remember the name of the lot) and change it to residential. If you need to place a lot, try to use the 64x64 one. move your family into the lot.

Now send one family member to the graveyard to retrieve the graves from the mausoleum. once they have them (or before) go into build mode and use the "Motherlode" cheat to give yourself as much money as you need to make your mansion, remember to make it big with hallways linking the many rooms. Be sure to fill the rooms up with stuff you would expect in a old mansion, modern items for electricity are allowed, but to make it creepier use candles for all the lights. Once you finish building and placing objects in the house use 2 cheats "testingcheatsenabled true" and "debugbuy true" then go into the debug buy menu and find the fog generator object. place this all around the lot outside the mansion so you're sure to have a good coverage of the ground. once your sim has the grave stones place them in the back yard or a crypt under your mansion, feel free to use the decorative gravestones from the debug buy menu to make your grave site.

once this is all done, lock every door in the house to everyone. unlock the front door and the first hallway. these doors are your only doors that don't count toward the total unlocked door count.

Goals and how to unlock doors:
The main goal is to get all your sims to achieve their lifetime goal, this can be easy or hard but no 2 sims can have the same lifetime goal within your playable family. a secondary goal is to unlock every room.

To unlock a room you must accomplish a smaller goal on the way to each sim's lifetime goal, that means if you have a sim that wants to be a best selling author you need to have written a best selling book or get writing to skill level 2(skill based goals go in steps of 2, every 2 skillpoints that count toward the lifetime goal unlocks one room, max of 5 rooms unlocked this way per sim)

For a harder version, start with only 2 unlocked rooms at the start, and/or all sims must reach 1 milestone toward each of their lifetime goals to unlock a room(3 sims= 3 milestones= 1 room).

You fail the challenge if a sim in your family dies of anything but old age or doesn't achieve their lifetime goal before dieing of old age.

This is my first attempt at making a challenge, I made it after seeing a few haunted house challenges for sims 2 and figured it would be cool to have for sims 3. please feel free to give feedback.

Thanks, I spent some time refining the idea while testing it out in the game, That's how I came up with the locked doors part.
