This is what I do...

Read Edit at botom first

Double click the file then the sims launcher opens up. A few moments later the installer window that manages installing the sims3pack opens that looks like this. .

For me after double clicking the file I get the installer window and an automatic install of the sims3package file. Obviously for some reason this isn't working for you. Are you maybe using the beta version? Just a guess I don't know if that would cause any problems.

Try installing them manually. I am not sure but it's worth a try. Double click (or right click and choose open from the tree menu) the sims3package files then open up the launcher and choose the downloads tab on the left. If you see the house files in the window pane that opens up choose select all. Last choose install all.

I am not sure if this works maybe someone with more knowledge than me can provide input here?

Edit: I think I figured it out... maybe. I can't really tell since I am not having the same problem. Ignore the double clicking of the file and instead copy and paste the sims3package directly into C:\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads. Note for this one it's actually My Documents and not Program Files. Now you can find the file listed under the downloads tab in the launcher then check the box by the file and choose install button. If this works for either of you please post back.

yeeesss it works , thank you very very much

i put the files in here C:\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads then i went to the launcher and selected all the files and pressed install. Thank you again.

This lot is super cool. Looks just like the firehouse on my end of town.

Well, the how to installed part I get, but the thing is, where do I find the houses? Do I have to start a new game, cause I cant find it anywhere, or I can only have 1 house installed every time?

thanks

@ green1350: Yeah, I know neighborhood mode is a little strange and confusing at first. I bet you are transitioning from TS2? That's my problem I think. I can help you here though I believe. Here is what I did to place this beautiful lot in my game - and I must say it looks quite nice at the end of a road.

01. Load your saved game.

02. Open the options menu.

03. Choose "Edit Town" from the menu. Say you don't want to save and just continue.

04. Wait for the super fast load time.

05. Once the edit town neighborhood view opens you will see a menu on the bottom of the screen spanning from the center to the right. The one with the families and stuff in it. To place a copy of a custom lot or view it you choose the icon that looks like a hollowed out house. It is directly between the filled in house icon and the icon of a community bench. The first icon represents families. The second represents residential lots and the third for community lots. So click the icon of the hollowed out house and open the custom residential lot pane. Now you should see several lots withing this view. The custom houses have a little bulls eye icon over them so you can differentiate.

06. From this window you click the lot you would like to view/place copy of and you will see a small window with the place copy button. Click that and it will give you the option to place a copy within the neighborhood. You may only place on a lot that is the right size, empty, and zoned properly. For me I could place this one on the outskirts of town at a dead end with many other empty lots along the road though I don't remember specifically where I placed it. It looked good there too and now I will build around it... anyway I am getting off track here.

07. If you need to change a lot's zoning to be compatible with a particular lot then just click on it's icon within the edit town view and the change lot zoning button is the very first one that looks like a house and a community bench cut in half. Just click it and follow the dialog. Note that community specific items are non transferable to residential lots and will be lost in the conversion. They will prompt you with a warning asking if you want to take the action first though and I think also the items that will be lost.

I hope this helps you install this awesome lot because it really is amazing. I feel like I am brown nosing about it but it's so unique, and for me the best thing about it is the way it kind of burst from the earth like a natural sculpture without detracting from the scenery like most modern styled homes do in my opinion. Kind of puts me in a loop because I prefer a more modern theme as opposed to say Victorian style from the inside but on the outside it looks off to me unless it's right on the beach then I can kind of dig it. Sorry I am babbling... sleep deprivation haha.

While I was browsing the residential homes (I started from the back, got tired of all those recent made homes!) I saw this house and wow, I just can't explain the feeling!

I'm a very ecological person myself, and this is so green that it tingles my heart! :D

Brilliant work, really. I should learn from this, it's very inspirational...

*Dreams on... Woah..*
