This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Any way to make the UI bigger?
I just had the biggest, most confusing battle, to get my Sims 2 to work on my 1920x1080 screen and windows 10... but it works now. But now I have a new issue. The UI is so terribly small and any smaller screen and the game looks horrible. I've tried to Google a bit but all I've found has been info on Sims 3 and 4.... so does anyone know if there's a way to edit some fancy file (or a mod) to make the UI bigger without touching the screen resolution? I can live with this but being half blind it's a bit painful.

PS: I have a lot of info on these wrecked Graphic Rules settings if anyone needs to trouble shoot something. I even managed to make the snow settings unselectable but I fixed it lol

They only way to have UI bigger is to have lower resolution, the larger your resolution the smaller your UI will become.

I agree that it's a huge pain in the butt, especially for us with terrible eyesight.

The only workaround for 1920x1080 I've been able to do in the past is change the resolution to 1600x900. It's the closest I got to widescreen without completely warping what I was looking at. Though sims had a penchant for being too skinny after getting used to the resolution.

Sigh... I kind of guessed there's nothing to be done but I had to make sure (as I remembered if anyone knew, it would be modthesims community). I'll try 1600x900, maybe it's tolerable for me :3

There's also another resolution that you might like better (since it's been ages I've been able to run it in fullscreen). If 1600x900 doesn't look right, try 1440x900.

Like I said, sims might look too skinny in other peoples' screenshots after getting used to the UI at 1440x900. But I think I like them this way anyway. At least you can see the Ui and they have some meat on their bones!

Just a reply for anyone coming across this thread 4 years later:

Getting the new "clean" UI update Will help out a lot. Alternatively, there's a mod for larger font sizes as well.

CleanUI definitely helps. I play at 1440p though, and the build / buy catalog is so small at that resolution. I really hope it's possible the size can be increased someday.

I found this mod in GitHub, but I didn't tested it yet: https://github.com/lah7/sims2-4k-ui-mod
