Default References for functional washing machine
Hi people, one of my favorite functions of The sims 4 is the washing machine, i really like to see my sims doing laundry and i think it brings a more reality to the game. But I see that in the sims 2 it doesn’t have this function :/ I’ve already searched the internet but I haven’t found anyone that is at least close to of the sims 4 laundy day. So I decided to create it myself, I’m still a novice but I’m learning slowly and I wanted to ask for some references, do you know any mod or custom content that involves this theme to recommend me?
(how i want make a mod that seams whit "The Sims 4 laundry day"
I will prefer those that are functional )
(sorry for english mistakes, this aren't my native language)

I know there are a few washing machine (and ironing board and similar) objects with functions, but you're a bit better off in the WCIF topic for this. Those were made by people who really knew what they were doing...

If you want to make it yourself, it depends on what you want to add to it. Animations? That's something that's probably going to take months to learn (or more... probably a lot more) and is sincerely not easy. We're talking making a new object from scratch, adding a new skeleton to it, adding animations to the object (door), adding functions/BHAVs, adding animations to the sim, and probably a lot more. It's not an easy task.
Echo has a tutorial on adding animations here: https://modthesims.info/t/239160
and one on BHAVs and custom interactions: https://modthesims.info/t/142907
(You probably need more than that, though)

Just some basic functions like raising hygiene? Doable, may not be what you want.

Thank you, yes it will be a long way, but I want to improve it over time, first I would like to make a more basic washer just by making changes in the motives and over the months I will improve until I reach something more advanced, who knows one day... thank you for the tips!

Could be useful to look around and see what people have already made in regards to functional (or partially functional) washing machines, so having a go in the WCIF isn't really meant as a "give it up" advice - phrase it in a way so people understand you're looking for functional washing machines (and maybe similar laundry items), and you could find some interesting items. PCsims had some with extended functions, like an ironing board. It can help to poke around in other people's files to see what they did. It's one of the ways I learn new things, anyway...

Under household stuff - "laundry center" and "washers". Been a while since I played with them so I can't remember what they do, and the meshes are a bit meh, but I think they have some extended functions, and they could probably be tinkered with to have some nicer meshes/textures.
PCsims
(there's a lot of items with new/extended animations and functions there, so it could be interesting to poke around in the files)

Edit: After a quick search, I came across these two versions, more or less functional and with animations (not sure if you're after something more)

thanks again for the help!
I searched the link you sent me and found some interesting posts like this: https://modthesims.info/showthread....washing+machine where the people said he had a machine and could carry bags of clothes in the inventory ... I found it interesting because it is very similar to the sims 3
I found another post:https://modthesims.info/showthread....washing+machine where she said had a machine and a functional ironing board, and talking about functional ironing board, I found a post from you, where you said about one from PCsims here: https://modthesims.info/showthread....t=ironing+board and you telled his website its not available... can you tell me more about this object?, if i'm not taking your time, of course

The graveyard was down for a while (that old WCIF topic is 2 years old), but it's back up now. I linked directly from there in the post above.

Not sure about the one with clothes in their inventory (which one is that? Couldn't find it).

On the first link I sent, the bulbizarre (who opened the topic) said something about washing clothes in the game and not wanting to spend energy on a dryer or not wanting to take them in the inventory to a laundry ... I don't know if he was being literal too...
About grevyeard I'm glad he come back

I don't think it was meant in a literal sense.

The graveyard is basically where files from (mostly older) sims sites go when they die (some of them, anyway). The site has been a bit up and down the past few years, I think due to hosting issues, but for now they seem stable.
