@TURBODRIVER
@oraclelunafaye

The attached updates add the Headline xml type and fix the failure to add a new REGD. Just extract and replace the files in your s4pe with the ones in the 7z.

The latest code is in the Git Develop branch: https://github.com/s4ptacle/Sims4Tools/tree/develop

@Illume

I looked at your problem again and can't reproduce it with other packages containing GEOMs. The example package you linked seems to contain some GEOMs that s4pe won't read even before doing anything with it, but I'm not sure because I can't find the original package to download again.

A new version of s4pe is overdue and I'll work on it now that I can use a keyboard again without much pain.

Thank you very much for the quick adjustment. I can now add a Region Description to my package, but it doesn't seem to be saving correctly. My game won't recognize it, and when I try to open it in S4S I get this...
(Yes, S4S can't save Region Descriptions, but it doesn't seem to have any problem opening them in functioning packages.)

After looking at this in more detail, there are a couple of issues.

First, when I add a REGD and give it version 9, S4S reads it correctly. Both S4S and s4pe will only read version 9 correctly and will error on the original version (7). s4pe will partially read the current version (11) but not save it correctly. S4S errors on the current version. The error you posted is consistent with an attempt to read a REGD version 7.

Second, there's a bug in s4pe causing the simoleanPrice to display incorrectly. I think it'll save changes correctly but haven't tested. They all seem to be zero anyway.

Could you check what version you're working with? If it's 7 that explains the problem and for now you can try changing it to 9.

Obviously I need to correct the simoleanPrice error, but I also want to add support for the other versions. The new version is a little puzzling so far but I'll work on it tomorrow and get back to you.

Hi CmarNYC
I'm not really sure which version you're talking about. I think you mean the one inside the XML? If so it says
Code:
"Version": "0x0000000B"

For the software I'm on:
s4pe 0.5.3-beta
S4S 3.1.2.2

It's the resource version of the REGD, and yes, that's it. 0x0000000B is version 11, the latest version. I see the latest S4S does support that version, and I understand what the error was.

Here's an updated wrapper for REGD, with support for all the versions I've seen. I haven't tested a whole lot but please give it a try and of course report any problems.

Thanks. That confirmed what I thought, the original package contains GEOMs that s4pe can't decompress. S4S can't read them either. Looking at the headers, they seem to be using an old form of compression with a couple of extra bytes at the beginning but if I force s4pe to skip those bytes it still doesn't work. The game can't read them, the bad GEOMs are LOD2 and LOD3 and the hair disappears if you zoom out. Maybe the package was made with an old tool or something. Anyway, looks like the problem is these particular GEOMs, not s4pe.

S4S can't read them either, so they're almost certainly more files that weren't compressed using TS4 standards. Where do you get this stuff? :D

false alarm
it was download corruption, I was re-download original zip archive and all normal, sorry for bother you
tricky part is when .package file is on zip archive - you can't completely sure is it correct or not, even if archive is successful extracted (rar it's probably more reliable)
that why I hate compressed things
with good archiver (format) you can sure that extracted data is correct, if not it give you a error
but with game formats... some modders just share package files

anyway here some CC with unsupported compression

so no one point to that errors before because no one know they are exist
game just ignore them by skipping loading corrupted data
it was be cool if there was so kind of check_package.exe tool, so we can clean up mod folder from some trash CC
or s4pe would have CLI with some commands...
just saying

I downloaded one of the packages and it's more of the same - geoms for lod0 are fine, geoms for lod1, lod2, and lod3 can't be read. One of them is actually an RLE2. This creator seems very sloppy.

I keep meaning to write a troubleshooter tool for CAS packages, if I ever get it done it could pick up things like this.

WorldColorTimeline is not a text resource, the listing is just a display of the values in it. If you were trying to import a text file that's not going to work. You have to edit it using the Grid button at the bottom.

WorldColorTimeline is not a text resource, the listing is just a display of the values in it. If you were trying to import a text file that's not going to work. You have to edit it using the Grid button at the bottom.

Oh no, I was trying to avoid doing this one by one, Sims 4 studios only lets me do it one by one and im trying too be able to copy and paste my changes so i dont gotta do this for 2 hours going back and forth between all 4 seasons

I thought it was possible to just edit it, cause i did get the text editor too work but it all comes out in binary or compressed or something

If you want all the WorldColorTimelines to be exactly the same you can make changes to one, export to file, then import them to each one. (I don't know how the WorldColorTimeline works so no idea if that's even usable.) Basically both S4S and s4pe do only certain batch operations and this isn't one of them.

The other option is to write a tool specifically to make the same changes in all the WorldColorTimelines.

Sadly, I have no coding experience so doing a batch isn't an option and every world has to be taken care of one by one because other values are important not to overwrite, Of course, if I could export the ambient and shadowcolor by itself and reimport it back in to other seasons and worlds it would be easy but i guess do it one way or no way Thank you for replying me though!

Hello,

First, thanks a lot for that work, very useful for the community !
I'm working on scripts inside mod folders, using XML files, and actually I have to open each package in S4pe, and extract xml file one by one.
Is there a way to launch S4pe in "CLI" to be able to extract all xml files in a folder for example ?

Thanks by advance,
