Default Will be guarding the house this weekend...
I will have the house to myself for a 3-day weekend. I have done these before since 2008.

I currently have a busy day tomorrow stocking up on groceries.

Any suggestions on how to while away boredom? Beyond binge-watching?

Games. There are some good online games that you could play. And, of course, the ones you might own yourself.

I also have a DVD burning session string to put my video collection onto DVDs and clear my drive of excess data.

Trust me when I say I am an avid cinematographer.

Guarding the house? Shotgun and a phone, so you can game while you guard.

Wouldn't getting a multi-terabyte hard drive a better option? I consider myself a movie lover as well with hundreds of titles in my collection of movie files. An HD is a much neater way to have everything organized in the same place, not to mention it's environmentally friendlier than burning countless DVD every time.
And external drives are as cheap as they've ever been nowadays

Me, me, me against them, me against enemies, me against friends, somehow they all seem to become one, a sea full of sharks and they all smell blood.

When I am alone for a few days I like to do things to take care of me! E.g. planning and preparing meals ahead of time so when I feel like them they are already there, and cleaning things that I am going to want to use later so they are ready for me when I want to use them.

I look after myself more when I am alone as I get to choose my life rather than be forced to live a life that other people thrust upon me!

I wouldn't put a lot of effort into getting it transported.

Heh, I have the house to myself for 2 weeks, and guess what? My village is pretty interesting in the early morning.
yeah I haven't slept for 28 hours now.

If you remember me, I'm awesome!

Hard drives are easy to crash.

Since I am not rough and tumble on my discs, I store them in a CD wallet.

I love being home alone! Funny thing is, I'm almost never bored, even when I'm alone. If I have my laptop and a pile of good books, I've got all I need to prevent boredom.

As for external harddrives and USB sticks crashing, they're more prone to do so if you use them a lot or if you store them in a dusty place. I use mine mostly for storage, and rarely leave them connected to the computer for very long at a time unless I'm moving a huge pile of files. I keep the harddrives in their original packing, for protection. All of them still work, including the oldest USB-stick. CDs get scratches, and they can break if you're not careful. You also need a lot of them.

I recently got a new external harddrive. It's this tiny little thing not much bigger than a phone, with 2 TB on it. Of course, it costs more than a CD/DVD, but takes much less space and is easy to carry.

You probably already have an answer - you've just forgotten.
You wrote, "will have the house to myself." I get the impression that, while the house was full, you've wished you had some time/space to yourself.
If that's the case, did you think about what you'd do if you could just have that time or space?

Were there some things that you might've done, but for interruptions and familial obligations?

The small 2.5" USB-powered hard drives are a lot more crash resistant than the big 3.5" ones.
You could also get a BD-RW drive and burn to BD-R which hold 25GB or BD-R DL which hold 50GB. Not economically the best option, but more environmentally friendly than DVDs. Something else to consider is the dye degrades over time on optical media. A portable HD is still probably the most economical option.

As for what to do when home alone... naps and porn works for me.

Having the house to yourself means that you can pretty much do whatever you want. Just keep it legal.
Myself? When I'm home alone (meaning no kids, since I don't live with my mom) I eat what I want to eat when I want to eat it; watch whatever I want when I want to watch it; listen to whatever music I want whenever I want to listen to it; walk around in a t-shirt and undies.. with the blinds closed, of course (don't want to be giving anyone nightmares). Yep, I live it up, lol. The only problem is that I get bored after a while. I'm just too used to having people around me all the time. The kids used to go to camp for a week - A WHOLE WEEK - when they were younger. That was pure torture for me.

Well, I could shower in their bathroom as it's much nicer, smoke the herbal cigarettes outside on the patio (providing the wind doesn't give me a bother), play with my special toys (nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more), plan out a printable carton to hold RYO (Roll Your Own) cigarettes, work on my cooking techniques, lay in bed with the cats mimicking my sleeping positions...

As long it doesn't involve a wild party. But with my experience and gentle nature, I have the Christ-Bueller effect: I attract and associate with those on the lower rung of society. And where I live, as long as you're over 21, marijuana is legal. My dad said from experience not to get caught up in the madness.

Don't be silly, you...I have a smartphone but I can't fire a gun at another living creature. I have a heart too big to pull the trigger on something with a pulse. Zombies on the other hand, should fear the 50 rounds per second gatling gun hidden the office, because I deliver blows to the head to stop zombies dead in their tracks.

(enough joking)

Besides, I had planned to try to get to world 4 on Super Mario 3D World.

Well, today marks my parents' return.

I did shower in their bathroom, go for a long walk, washed dishes and put them away, fed the cats...

No time for naughty behavior...I guess I had my fill of days.
