Help save Sims 1 content from Yahoo Groups!
You may have seen an earlier thread stating that Yahoo Groups is deleting all archived data (messages, files, photos, etc.) on December 14. A small group of us are attempting to save fandom-related groups, and I started a group effort to save the Sims-related groups. (The eventual goal is to put the content of the public groups in a special section of the Internet Archive, called the Sims Archive Project.) We have a spreadsheet of all known Sims-related groups (it's ~1700 so far!). The vast majority are focused on Sims 1, but there are quite a few for Sims 2, and even some Sims 3 and Sims 4!

We need your help! If you're interested, please join us at the Fandom Rescue Project Discord, linked here: https://yahoo-geddon.tumblr.com/
And join the Yahoo-Geddon Discord here, where a channel has been set up devoted to rescuing Sims groups: https://discord.gg/3k9Q7ST

DM me (Doranwen) if you have any questions, or ask for help on the Fandom Rescue Project Discord if no one's around in the Yahoo-Geddon one at that time.

Sadly they are gone, well the groups are still there but the files are deleted now.

Ginnie has started archiving the STS groups at Sims Cave [in the Sims 1] section. Its a huge task but bit by bit she is getting it done

After I heard the news I quickly got to work and saved as much Sims 1 stuff as I could and uploaded them to my Simfileshare account including some Sims 2 as well. It's such a shame and sad how much history that Yahoo had deleted in a day.

Agreed!!, I had a very nice collection and recently had a hard drive die on me. I thought I was safe and sound until about a week ago. Lost things like the Wyanekings magical fountain and more D':

That site you mentioned, where would I find more info on it? How do I take part, I have been on a hunt for days now trying my best to recover what I can. I have been successful except these sort of modded items.

Do you mean Simfileshare or Yahoo Groups? Yahoo Groups is no longer hosting any files there after over 20 years but people like me,Ginnie and Terraluna had saved as much stuff as we can from there as quickly as we could. Here's the link to the files on my Simfileshare account. http://simfileshare.net/folder/82807/

Hello! I don't know if anyone will see this post, but I only recently found it after getting back into Sims 1 and learning about what was happening to Yahoo Groups.

I'm looking for downloads from C&C Enterprises. It was once found at http://cambouisfr.free.fr, then was moved to a group on Yahoo. I think it was a subgroup of Saving the Sims, possibly.

I had a look through the Sims File Share link provided, but I can't find C&C Enterprises. I've searched the page for 'C&C', 'CC', 'cam' with no results. I'm wondering if it might be in one of the many folders labelled savingthesims, but I'm not keen on downloading dozens of them to hunt through. Although I will if no-one else can help me.

Would anyone know whereabouts in this SFS folder I could find C&C Enterprises downloads?
