This is just a little annoyance, but I wish there was a mod that would make the picture-in-picture camera not show the arrival & departure of service sims... I don't care, it's fine, I know that the maid is leaving, she comes every day! I have no idea what part of the game governs that camera popup or if it can be modded, though.

^ You can turn off the "camera in camera" (I think that's what it's called) in the camera settings ingame.

It's either on or off - you can't choose what it does when it's on.

I dont know if anyone before posted something like this but...I want to suggest kind of CELEBRITY (hollywood like) popularity for sims. Either like a mod or hacked object (I am not sure). In short, sims who are climbing up their job career can be known/recognized by other sims (either from same job or generally) and approached by them (and can have positive or negathive interaction with them - depending on the reputation on COMMUNITY LOTS. If the reputation is GOOD sims would recieve CLAPING/HOORAI/CHEERING kind of reaction fromm other sims. If reputation is BAD, they wouls recieve BOO/negative from other sims. Something SIMILAR to Superstar from Sims 1.

Plus, I want to suggest kind of PLUG IN mod, for sims to have a random chance to recieve food/meal gifts from friend and/or family members (not from same household). The gift would be food/dish/meal matching cooking skills of the sims who are friends to your sims.

I'd love to see some kind of "paycheck" that your sims could fill out. It could be an object that you could give a specific value to, and you could sell it for that amount. I'd like to use something like this for my sims to pay other sims for goods or services. I currently use the hacked computer to transfer money but if there was another option I'd like to try it out.

I am currently making one of my richest sims purchase a big store where a lot of craftable objects are sold, but this sim is going to buy the products from other sims in the town, since crafting and producing everything is a lot of work. This sim is going to pay the other sims for their products and then they're going to resell them in the store. I was thinking about how I'd do long sessions in the hacked computer to pay everyone, and it got me thinking about alternatives.

You might like pescado's money order transfer mod, they look like they write letters and put them in the mail or something. I used to have it for sims to pay their escorts. I think it looks like a card box in misc>misc. However, I've never used the hacked computer so don't know if it will clash with it.

Personally I use christianlov's Wallet Token Controller when I need to transfer money between Sims. In my game, Sims wanting to borrow money generally borrow it from richer Sims, rather than from a bank or other institution. Some sort of interest is usually expected (unless you borrowed it from Andrew's husband Julian, who is likely to forget to even ask for his money back, unless and until Andrew reminds him to ask for it).

Occasionally I would like something that allows you to type in the amount to be paid. The wallet lets you transfer sums of §15, §50, §100, §500, §1,000, §5,000, §10,000 and §30,000, but sometimes the amount owed is precisely (for example) §21,621.

It might be possible to do with a slider like used for buying groceries.
I am not sure, but i think I saw a money transfer mod like that already.

I was having a conversation today, and an idea popped into my mind... Wouldn't it be cool if the photo booth could have MORE poses?

Right now, you can choose from Normal /Goofy /Romantic. Each one produces a photo containing 4 poses, that can be hung on the wall or placed on a counter. The game clearly grabs SimA and SimB (where SimB is applicable) and sticks them in the 4 poses on each sheet. The outcome is 3 possible sets of 4 poses..

It would be kind of cool if the game could choose from a wider variety of poses. Let's say you chose "Goofy". There's 4 frames and 4 poses. One picture. But what if there were say, 16 poses that the game could choose from, to fill those spots? Divide the photo into A,B,C,D and then select pose 1-16 for A, and again for B, and again for C, and again for D... That way, the final photo wouldn't always be the same exact 4 poses, no matter how many times you did the "Goofy" pic, and how many different sims were in it.

Now, i'm not sure the game works that way, and perhaps the slots (A,B,C & D in the example above) are not individually interchangeable. Then perhaps the mod could choose from one of 4 sheets, to sort of randomize the photos. So "Goofy" sheet A would be pix 1-2-3-4. "Goofy" Sheet B would be pix 5-6-7-8. And so on. It would give you 4 possible photos, which would be a little less exciting than each of the 4 slots containing 1 of 16 pix. But it'd be a little more exciting than just the same ONE pic with 4 poses over and over again.

Seems like something the game ought to be able to handle, since it already grabs SimA and SimB to place into the 4 predetermined poses. This would just expand the 4 poses into either blocks of 4 options, or preferably 3876 possible combinations (if my calculations are accurate and each slot could be filled by any one of the available poses) with just 16 poses. If that's too many, make it 8 poses, which would only yield 330 possible sets of 4 pix. hahha

Does this make any sense, or am I being way too convoluted?

Dont know how to put this...its about UNIVERSITY COACHES. They appear on residental uni lots and can be super annoying. What I want to suggest is SPORT/FITNESS hobby related. A mod that allowes for coach to appear on COMMUNITY LOT OUTSIDE of university sibhood. But only if the community lot has a POOL or EXERCISE machines. A coach would appear and influence/force sims to do: EXERCISE, YOGA, JUMP ROPE,...generally any sport and fitness related stuff. What do you think?

One idea I've had for a while is a sim-summoning device that could be used to populate 'workers' on certain community lots. Basically, the device could be clicked to get a list of sims, you choose one, and that sim gets assigned to that device. After that, whenever you visit a lot with a sim, the summoned sim would show up. This way, you could set up lots that are meant to be specific offices or businesses, and have them populated with sims that would normally work there. Say, you build a newspaper office, so you assign some sims from the Journalism career. Or maybe you want to have a law firm, or school, or movie studio. My pie-in-the-sky want would be that the mod would be smart enough to have the summoned sims there during their work hours, have them occasionally perform tasks related to their job, and let them sometimes roam around at times it would make sense (like at 'lunch' or 'break'). And the device object could be changed to fit in with the career, such as a computer or chalkboard or podium.

I know you can kind of get this sort of thing with owned lots, visitor controller, or meeting controller, but those don't do quite what I want. The inspiration for the idea came when I had Cyd Roseland in the Criminal career. I had some community lots modeled after American main street areas, with several buildings connected together on one lot, with different businesses in each. One of them included a seedy little bar, and Cyd had an office upstairs. Since there were two or three other businesses, it would have been a headache to have Cyd own the whole thing. I didn't even want him to own the bar, just use the office. I thought it would be fun if I could send one of my other sims there and visit him, especially if they were also in the Criminal career. Then I got to thinking it would fun to set up other places, like a newspaper office where I could send a sim to talk to a reporter or something. It would make the hood feel even more cohesive.

I like the photo booth idea, but I think 4x4 poses would be tricky because you'd have to ensure that all of the Sim A poses were compatible with all Sim B poses. Maybe a combination of poses (involving both sims) and facial expressions?

Well yes, that's sorta what i meant... like the way that the 4 pix are done now. There's Sim A in 4 framed shots, or Sims A & B in 4 framed shots... those 2 sims are posed together. I was imagining it would work the same way, but there'd be more than 4 frames to choose from. The sims would still be posed together in each frame, should there be a B sim. It would be a nightmare, if Sim A was 1/16 poses, crammed together with 1/16 Sim B poses. Sorry if I didn't express that clearly, but also, thank you for clarifying it! =)

Hmm... yes, I see what you're saying. I had a similar issue when i tried to create a beach boardwalk. There's a clothing shop, for all your trendy t-shirts. There's a salon. There's a souvenir shop. There's a poster shop. There's a flower shop. There's a gift shop. There's an arcade. And there's even a little restaurant. But I can't run it as an OFB lot. The restaurant alone requires all the employees it can handle.

Might've been neat if the game could allow you to compartmentalize the businesses, like a cross-over between Apartments & OFB. Now I'm wondering... Could you do something like that with AL? Make each apartment basically a home business... I wonder if that'd work... You could take down the front door /wall to make it accessible, and use those little carpet strip dividers (in Build-Mode, under 'fences') around the entryway, to give it a "wall" that'd offset it, so it would be considered an 'apartment'... Hmmmm...

I totally agree-because there are some lots that are large lots with mini businesses in them, but you can't own just one, you have to buy the whole lot. The only way I can think of is to knock the business down and recreate it as a single lot. Lots of single lots.

@grinevilly , Sadly I don't believe you can start a home business when renting an apartment. You can use Mog's mod (Shop Where You Live?) to have an apartment(s) above and business(es) below, but the renter(s) wouldn't own it. The mod doesn't quite work for what I want, because you can't send sims to visit it (same issue with sim-owned home businesses). Also, I would love a mod that allows sims to rent office/shop spaces from a large community lot. Like you said, a sort of crossover, where instead of an apartment door, maybe it would be a business door that would designate anything behind it as a separate business.

Renting objects (cars, bycucles, beds,...) would be nice too.

One of these days I'm going to mod the repo truck to replace that goofy frown face with an IRS logo. I think that would be both funny and appropriate.

Could animation/movement be BORROWED/COPIED from some other existing animations?
