Any way to increase map size or move layers between maps?
Hi, so I'm working on editing Howell Island to use for a game/legacy/story idea I had and was wondering if it's possible to increase map size and keep the items, terrain paint, roads, effects, ect in their correct places? I tried using this method to make the map bigger, but as you can imagine, that didn't quite go so well and things ended up out of place as you can see in the attached pic. I know in the world folders there's files for each layer, so I was also wondering if there's anyway to just import those into the bigger map/a new world using the bigger map? There's a lot of rocks and effects in this world and I'm trying to avoid having to put them all back. If nothing can be done I'll just stick to the smaller version and try to deal with it, but I'd really like to have some more breathing room to work with and add more sandy area around the island. I'm open to any other ideas anyone can offer too.

I don't think you can export with all the assets. The heightmap you can export though and adjust in Photoshop to fit in a bigger world.

I can't remember having read anywhere you can import the assets and have an option to place them where you want. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, only I can't remember having read anything about it. I don't think it's possible, but I may be wrong.

You cannot enlarge the sculpted world as is. While you can export height map and texture layers, the placement of objects will be wrong. But you could try to expand the map and keep the original island as is as it was done with Hylewood here: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=625268

You could put everything you want to save onto a single layer, and then splice that layer into a new world made with the larger map size... not sure if this will really save you any time though as you will still have to reposition every item.

I don't want to enlarge the island, just the area around it since it's painfully close to the map edges. Thank you for the link, that sound like what I'm wanting!

Okie dokie, thank you, I know I at least want to keep the effects since it'd be a pain to write down what they all are. I don't mind re-position them so much as hunting them down in the massive list of effects, even with using the filter thing. Is there a way to "group" objects together, like trees? I know some of the rocks seem to be in groups like this, you can move several at once. Some of the fog effects are "stuck" together like this too. Putting things all in one big group would make it easier to move around and put back if I have to.

I'll look into both these links today and see if I can figure out something, thank you both! I really appreciate it. :D
