Default The Sim Points Challenge
The Sim Points Challenge

In order to play this challenge create a custom neighborhood first, then create a new sim of your choice and start playing the game as usual. During the game as you play it you earn or lose “sim points” based on the rules of this challenge.
The basic goal of this challenge is to evaluate how successful your sims are in a given period of game play. You earn the bulk of your “sim points” by fulfilling their wants and earning money, making friends, etc. There are special points, both positive and negative, to score as well. Here are the basic rules of this challenge:

You calculate the total sim points for every sim in the neighborhood after every week of play. The calculations are based on the following table:

Net Family Fund = Family Fund / Family member Factor; Where FMF is for Adults=1, Teens=0.5, Elders=1 Others do not count
Points 1 per 1000 Simoleons
Lot Value = Lot value of the residential lot / FMF
Points 0.5 per 1000 Simoleons
Aspiration Points = Total Aspiration Points Earned
Points 0.5 per 1000 Aspiration Points
Lifetime Aspiration Level = Number of Lifetime Aspiration Points earned over 5
Points 25 per 1 Level
Friends = Number of friends excluding family members
Points 5 per 1 Friend
Job Level = Current Job Level (Only the highest is considered in case of coexistence of Businesses and Normal Jobs)
Points 10 per 1 Level
Total Skills = Sum of all acquired skills
Points 2 per 1 Skill
Total Badge Points = Sum of all badge Points; Where Gold Badge=3 BP, Silver Badge=2 BP, Bronze Badge=1 BP
Points 10 per 1 Badge Point
Total Business Value = Sum of all Business Values taken from Business Deeds / FMF
Points 0.5 per 1000 Simoleons
Total Hobby Level = Sum of all Hobby Levels
Points 1 per 1 Hobby Level

Net Points = Total Points earned divided by Number of days played
Final Score = Net Points + Special points

Where some of the Special points are like these:
Score per Description Divided Among
500 per Getting the first Genie Lamp Family
250 per Raising a Baby to Teen Parents
250 per Becoming either a Vampire, a Werewolf or a PlantSim

Home Business Only allowed if Friends>= 5 And Total Skills >= 5
Vacations are allowed to last for maximum 2 days
1 vacation allowed per week of play
Only Adults returning from university are allowed to merge with existing family
Uses of Aspiration reward objects are strictly prohibited!

TIPS: Initially create 3 to 4 sims in CAS with varied primary and secondary aspirations and zodiac signs. Then play each of them for one week and record their scores in a spreadsheet. Continue this cycle and in the process add a few more sims into the neighborhood by either CAS or biologically creating them, adopting, etc.
You may find out the best combination of aspiration and zodiac sign (read nature of your sim) that suit your playing style the most to get effectively successful in the sim world.

Your comments, suggestions and most importantly queries are welcome.

Hm. I kind of like this idea. Though I think you need to elaborate more and add more info in, it's a good start. Kind of like the Prosperity Challenge.

It is not enough to have a good idea. You must develop it, fight for it, work to win supporters for it, do everything in your power to see that it gets translated into reality. - Nathaniel Branden

To all the viewers:
If you like the idea, even slightly, I would request you to take part in this challenge and play at least one sim week on any of your sim or family and publish your total Sim Score here. It is fun to know how much you can score under the given set of rules . And do not forget to mention what expansion pack(s) you have! Looking forward to your replies.

Default How do you play this
As we know The Sims 2 is a completely open-ended game, we really don't have particular goals to achieve or to fail to either win or lose the game. We can argue, however, that surviving and filling up those aspiration meters may be considered as the purpose. We have liked the game this way since we played for the first time, through all these years and with the addition of several expansion packs even augmented the experience.
This particular challenge does not recommend to alter the game play whatsoever way. What it tends to do is to add a time factor to your game play. It means every second (every minute in the sim world) counts, right from when you start the game. Since this challenge is based on scoring points within a specified time limit, you have to optimize how you play the game to earn maximum possible score for each and every sim you paly. Now, let us understand how we paly this game and score. As the rule of this challenge we need to create a fresh neighborhood first and then we have to create a sim of our choice. Say We have created Cloud Marsh - our custom neighborhood where this challenge will take place and also created Frantisa Franald, the tutorial sim! We start off by moving Franisa into a Maxis made starter home costing say §15000. Remember here that we begin on Monday so we shall play the first session till next Sunday midnight and check out how good or how bad Frantisa has done as far as our challenge is concerned. Keep in mind that for every thousand § you have at your disposal earn you 1 Sim Point ( We shall refer to it as SP from now on) whereas if you spend them in either build mode or buy mode the § is added to your lot value, which only score ½ SP per thousand §. So be absolutely careful to decide how much you should shell out, especially in the beginning when money is too hard to come by. Now, back to the Franald family, we are assuming that the starter home is amply furnished meaning we can keep the remaining §5000 for now. At this point of time, the "family fund" is §5000 and the "lot value" is §15000 (note that you calculate the "lot value" by while in the build mode click on the blue round icon on the top left corner of the screen to know the current lot value) which yields 5000/1000*1=5 SP and 15000/1000*0.5=7.5 SP respectively which will be further modified by other factors such as Family Member Factor (FMF), etc and then contribute to the final score. [To be continued...]
