Mac OSX Debug problem?
Hello -- Has this issue been fixed? All the links on thehttp://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...l_019_.28OSX.29 are links to pages no longer on the sims 3 website.

Error: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x03540000 at address 0x7c471070.
Do you wish to debug it ?

All I did was install base game, Use super patcher, then installed 4 expansions: each time doing automatic updates after each install -- the expansions were world adventures, Ambitions, Late night, and Seasons. I didn't even launch the game between installs. Any current solutions? Thanks

In a way it's gotten worse, then better, and it's about to get much much worse again.

TS3 for Mac, if you can get it going, remains a crippled version of its Windows sibling in that it can only address 2 GB of RAM no matter how much the player has installed and there is no fix for that. The Windows version can use up to almost twice that and will reach for more RAM, if it's available, as it needs to whereas the Mac version flounders around, stalls, or Error12s upon trying to save after a certain point with ongoing games. The presence of Seasons, one of the heavy hitting EPs, is not going to help.

The better part: All that debug macOS jazz means is that the game has crashed. A few of the EPs, and I think LN is one of them, require extra steps upon installation to get past that. There are helpers on EA's Answers HQ forum who can walk you through the steps or provide a tutorial, it's not that complicated once you have the correct set of instructions for your packs.

The much much worse part: macOS 10.15 (Catalina) is about to be released in a few weeks. It will not run 32-bit applications period, and there is no 64-bit version of TS3. That will be the end of the game for any players who stay up to date on their macOS. If the intent is to stay on 10.14 (Mojave) or lower, then this end of life thing doesn't really apply until one buys a new computer in the future with Catalina or higher already installed on it. When this happens, the only way to play TS3 on a Mac with a current operating system will be to Bootcamp Windows onto it and play the Windows version of the game instead...or theoretically have a way to partition one's drive so that a lower version of the macOS can run on startup.
