I wish I knew!

I dreamed that I downloaded a mod which allowed my sims to come out of the computer and enter Real Life™, but the install instructions were really complicated and I spent the entire night trying to backup my install. I'm going to lock the office door tonight just in case it wasn't a dream, can you imagine what it would be like if your house was infested by tiny sims? They would leap out at you whenever you opened a cupboard, singing "gebits, gerbits, goooo gerbits!" (Hence the Gerbits protest signs in the above picture ) It would be really awful if you got home and found cockroach infestations from the plates they leave on the floor because they can't reach the dishwasher.

I had a long sequence of connected sim dreams last night. It started with my husband and I living in what at first seemed to be a single-family residence, but which I realized was part of a Sims 2 apartment lot when I ran into neighbor Samantha Ottomas. We were trying to get out and go on vacation, but we were having that apartment glitch where all the neighbors invade and you can't get rid of them. Fortunately I locked the door of the bathroom before the tiger showed up.

I then segued into rotation dreaming. The hood seemed to be populated primarily by Family Bin premades. Cyd Roseland and Porthos were working as spies and had a very elaborate lot with secret rooms. Cyd was only pretending to be a hapless bachelor and Porthos was only pretending to be unable to speak and understand simlish. Porthos also had this interesting secret dog exercise machine.

The Traveller apartment was also equipped with a secret room but I'm not sure why, or what job Trent had. He and Trisha were divorced and he was living with Tina and a servo. Tina was very unhappy and after her birthday party tanked because she could not have a good conversation with another teen to save her life and Trent kept distracting the servo from serving food and there was mess everywhere she cried on the servo's shoulder and said she wanted to live with her grandmother. The servo got her calmed down and tried to clean up, but the guests had gotten into the secret room and trashed the place, while Trent had stored everything in the wrong place.

Wait, what? XDDD

I dunno what to tell you. There was a tiger, that's all. Dreams be like that.

I don't dream about characters or being in the game, but last night, I had a dream I was trying to teach someone the dormspecifictoolsdisabled cheat. I was trying to write it on a chalkboard but there was all this other writing on the board so I had to squeeze in the directions amongst classroom notes while also keeping it legible.

This was after Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, and I were running from giant volcano monsters that were setting entire towns on fire and we had to go to a university to find someone who was an expert in them and that's how I ended up in a classroom talking about Sims.

Now I'm picturing everyone trying to copy the dorm cheat into little notebooks like in the episode with the Gentlemen.

Last night I dreamed I was playing a modded space colony-type neighbourhood where the maker added a special script that causes Sims to suffocate to death if they went outside without putting on outerwear (a spacesuit). Unfortunately some teenage Sims kept trying to autonomously run away without changing and kept dying.

Also alien Sims were supposed to skip certain life-stages but since that also glitched it resulted in adults crawling around like toddlers.

My life is the sims, my dreams are playing the sims, my days are spent entirely playing the sims, there is nothing but sims. So yes!

(Joking, but yes I've had a dream here and there of sims. )

This one wasn't about Sims per se, but inspired by it. I dreamed I had two children who were twins and their names were Sunny and Summer day. When I told a family member about that dream they immediately said that “those names sound like something you'd name your sims“, which was the point - in the dream I had intentionally named my own children the type of names I give to my sims. Maybe I should use them next time there are twins born in my game.

Well now you know what to name your first born children. XD Don't worry if you don't end up having twins; just eat some cheesecake.

Perfect, and I love cheesecake. In that case, I just need an expensive telescope now...

Last night I dreamed that I had added SSU to my Eden's Land neighborhood (which I do not plan to do; Uni is my favorite expansion, but it changes the pace of the game a great deal and this neighborhood is explicitly for a different style of play in times of stress). As I, in the form of the sim I'd moved there, walked from the residence I'd rented in to campus I became viscerally aware of why I made LGU - I hate the design, layouts, and buildings of the Maxis universities, which sprawl all over everywhere and are full of unusably huge lots. It was taking forever to walk to campus and once there I'd need to go to that huge sprawling building with the groceries, electronics, bar, pool tables, and computers, which I don't do because it takes 70 years just to arrive on it and by the time you can rush to greet the sim you want to talk to they've already left. So I was wondering, as I walked, getting hotter and hotter and thirstier and thirstier, whether I should just bulldoze everything bigger than 3x3 and was there a way to make things over in a more suitable style for Eden's Land and why did I add SSU at all instead of making a bare-bones custom one and wait, did I back up the neighborhood before adding SSU? You should always do that, and make any edits you know you're going to want to the new subhood before you actually send anybody there, and wow, I really screwed this up, didn't I?

After I woke up it took me several minutes to sort out dream memory from real memory and decide that no, I didn't add a university without backing up the hood first, I didn't add a university at all, thank goodness! And then I finally got a drink.

I've had dreams where Sims (including some of the pre-mades) were people IRL, and where IRL people were Sims.

I has the weirdest dream last night where I had a mod that randomizes the species/life state of a Sim at birth? Like in my dream, I had a Sim who gave birth to quads....and one of them was a zombie cat. Then in the dream I was freaking out because I don't have a mod for toddler/child zombies also I had accidentally downloaded a story progression mod and all my Sims were aging up quicker than I can play them and 1 in 4 were randomized so I had cats having litters of babies and Sims having puppies etc and I couldn't work out how to change the odds by the time my sims were growing up and having more and more random babies. I woke up feeling anxious

Bless me, simmers, for I have dreamed. It is nine months since my last sim dream. (Possibly the fact that my country now resembles a videogame played by a vicious 8-year-old has something to do with that, I dunno.)

I was playing a family of siblings, two brothers and a sister. The sister married in a guy named Amauraud Beaufort, who was part human and had a webpage with his interests and things set out in it. The lot had an elaborate custom train layout that you could put together in sections like a rollercoaster, and it basically circled the lot. When it reached the portal the train would launch into the air and the brothers liked to experiment with putting different things on the back to change the trajectory, force of lift, etc. Amauraud said on his webpage that he was resisting the temptation to put a firework on it, himself, but somebody had to be the man of the lot and it sure wasn't going to be his brothers-in-law. I think the sister wasn't moving out just because she didn't think her brothers would survive without her.

9 out of 10 times these days I dream about work. Maybe they should start paying me overtime

Haven't had any sim-related dreams in a while, not that I can think of, anyway. I'd much rather take those over dreaming of work...

That used to happen to me a lot; I would spend the entire night plating aircraft components, and wake up only to have to do it all again for real for 12 hours!

I never dreamed that I was on a nice holiday, or eating a delicious meal.

You can't normally taste things in dreams, but I did once. I was eating Italian pastries with Gillian Anderson and they were delicious.

However, in last night's dream all I was doing was watching what the sims in the background were doing on a community lot. Two teen girls were making friends over chess. Since I'm playing an historic hood at the moment, both girls wore hats, one of them an accessory boater and one a large purple picture hat hairstyle. After awhile the one in the picture hat left, then came back carrying one of those swoopy accessory hats with the large fake flower decorations of Skellington's (I don't remember what she calls them) and gave it to her friend in the accessory hat, who promptly swapped them out! The new hat, unlike the boater, matched her red plaid dress perfectly and she was delighted. Together they walked around showing off their hats. I was charmed, and also surprised, as I had no idea such an interaction was possible. As of course it isn't.
