You'd have to ask somebody who knows about that stuff, it's all a mystery to me. My somewhat aged HP Pavilion laptop, which has switchable graphics, is set up to use the AMD Radeon 6490M when playing games. If there's a way of capping the frame rate with that I'm sure I don't know.

AMD Radeon GPUs can be stubborn. I've always had success using RivaTuner Stats Server (RTSS) to keep the fps locked in where it should be as the built-in drivers alone never did it for me and I believe most other TS3 players on these cards. But at the end of the day I don't really think it matters which tool explicitly caps the fps, as long as it works as can be demonstrated by the "fps on" cheat code or the tools themselves that can display the same information.

So I just found out that the description of Dean's house (Station Number One or something) in Riverview says that all the fire equipments have been sent to neighboring town. Wonder whether the neighboring town is actually Twinbrook since it is the only town that has active fire station (by default). Also in Twinbrook there's roads called Riverview Street and Jebidiah Street (there's a premade sim named Jebidiah Wilson in Riverview). Made me think that Riverview and Twinbrook could be actually related, and all the rivers in Riverview used to flood through to Twinbrook before the dam was built. Damn, I love playing those worlds.

I learnt that you can fail to impress celebrities. Poor Leah is trying to butter up someone rich and elderly to be able to, ahem, inherit from them. This one, however, saw right through her.

Hello friends !

Believe me I don't know what kind of sims I created but most of them childish even though most of them do not have the childish trait.

I let my zombified vampire attack, (wow we could have hybrids in this game the state of zombie is not forever) I could not believe the victim of Zombie attacks can take it this not seriously. They can joke on the zombie and the zombified sim can laugh at too. (depends on the traits for sure)
Everything was not played, I really let the story ran.
I speak French only. If my statements are harsh, rude for you, that's not intentional. I just think Different due to my Language and my Culture.
But truly, I am open-minded than you think of.

I finally learned why the Ark Builder LTW is broken. It has a hidden requirement for you to own 2 fireflies, EVEN if you don't have Showtime.

Some sims avoid to reply to some questions.
Enji replies about his zodiac sign but he never replies about his carreer ahaha ! As if he wants to keep it for him.

About the AI of the game. One of my simself colleague Quentin was furious against her when he speaks about the Detective carreer because actually she does nothing, I do not sent her to work and he is always at the police station working. if the sims 3 weren't smart, he wouldn't care would he? He speaks about the carreer himself I did not control him.


That's why I love the sims 3. Those sims are personnalities.

Putting light beetles through a radiation experiment with the science station can produce a plasma bug. Just like in real life I avoided the science lab until now.

I didn't discover anything in the game itself, but I was looking at the old control sheet that came with the base game earlier today. According to it, TS3 is supposed to have a top down view for build mode just like TS4. Even says it's the same key, "T". But pressing it doesn't do anything. Guess it was cut or something.

Another new one for me. I didn't know that your sim can die when doing the holding breath competition in the pool. My simmies did that in while in France and suddenly I got the mourning notification. I zoomed back to the holiday home and Treace was dead. He had drowned while having a competition with his husband. He did have the Steel lugns -award, so maybe he thought he could stay at the bottom of the pool the whole day if needed. I had saved the game just before the death occured, so it was easy to confirm why he drowned. I did reload the game because I didn't want him gone yet.

I can't believe I've never noticed this since it's been in my game forever now, but I just noticed while my game was paused today that the Vorn Stallion (the bonus Muscle Car) actually has a different driving pose compared to every other car in-game. While most cars have sims just sitting straight up with both hands on the wheel, here they sit more "casually" with one arm on the wheel, slouched back slightly, and the other arm around the back of the other seat.

I'll take a screenshot soon.

I just learned about transfiguration via Carters Display Case - XL edition. You can make brand new sims if you transmute spirits, which, after more than a decade playing this game and owning the expansion, I've never even known. I started a save in which a sim basically repopulates a town using spirits that I make appear in his house every night. It's a little glitchy doing it that way, but it absolutely works and man, is it fun. It feels like every single time I play I learn something new.

So my sim asked someone about their alma mater. The sim responded that they had gone to the same school and there was a negative relationship score, very ”you don’t remember me?”

Not while playing, but discovered it on a youtube video about some hidden details in the game. Materials in CASt can actually have different sound effects when objects are placed against a surface. In the video, the example given was placing a plate on a counter. I was genuinely curious about this neat detail but never really bothered checking since I often play without sounds..

I discovered that I'm an idiot sometimes...So I've been playing in Island Paradise so I made a mod that makes it hugely playable (not without the help of every Nraas mod available) but I discovered I changed some settings in Nraas about Boats (did this in Go Here) so sims were not taking boats anywhere and swimming everywhere. So by the time my sim made it work she had worked half the day swimming to work. Well I also had changed another ITUN to do with boat routing that also had an impact (testing a new mod I might release) So I learned that sometimes I should leave the game alone LOL (never) I also discovered that they "forgot" to give us proper grass terrains for Island Paradise so I had to create them myself. I just want to know why they would release such a pretty world without the matching terrain paint? I mean the basics the grass...

It comes with a FPS limiter. However, Nvidia users can limit their FPS in the profile itself using NI.

In smoothness patch, the FPS limiter is defaulted off, "disabled." You have to turn it on.
