Game running slow after reinstall
Hi everyone. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling my game on my laptop (it's a long story...), but now it takes a long time to load my save file. Not only that, but this same game is prone to crashing. I tried all the optimization/performance guides I could get my hands on, but they don't seem to work. I also asked the fine folks over at NRAAS about this, but they seem to be just as stumped about it as I am. What could be the problem? My game runs on 1.67. This is my most recent DxDiag:

I use Windows 10 64-bit. I tried running it in Windows 8, 7, and XP Service Pack 3, but the results were the same.

It should be noted that two of the other fine folks at NRaas (who are not me!) also happen to be the volunteers who essentially run EA's AHQ tech issues board for TS3. One quite openly, the other more behind the scenes. I would actually suggest staying with that thread while reaching out to others to see what else they may be able to come up with.

1) I reinstalled the game because my save was experiencing sudden slowdown during gameplay and would crash when trying to enter CAS, so I did it as a last-ditch measure. It turns out I installed bad CC beforehand, which I only caught after I did the reinstall. I still experience slow game loading after reinstalling and deleting the bad CC to be clear.

2) It should be noted for this part, I have since did a further clean of the registry and reinstalled my CC, using the regular launcher for lots, patterns, and worlds and CC Magic for the rest (an arrangement I was already using prior to the slowdown). When running a new, completely clean game (no mods, no cc, using the default Sunset Valley neighborhood) it takes about 30 seconds to load. When creating a new game in Sunset Valley using all my CC and mods, it takes close to 3 minutes.

There are two saves I am trying to load: an old save from Sunset Valley that just had one new sim and custom lot added to it, and an old save that uses an expanded version of Sunset Valley as its basis (this one has a lot of lots and sims in it). Prior to the reinstallation, it took less than a minute and approximately six minutes respectively to load. Now it takes between 3-6 minutes, and 12-15 minutes respectively.

One thing I'm noticing is when I play the game as normal, the RAM according to my Task Manager would steadily climb and then stagnate, even when it just sits idly. Prior to reinstallation, RAM usage would go down when left idle since obviously it's not being use. Meaning, it looks like it could be an optimization/GPU recognition issue. The question is: how to fix it?

I don't think it's because the files are corrupted, because I tried loading backups of the saves I made prior to the reinstallation and bad CC, and I get similar loading times. Like I said, I suspect my GPU might not be optimizing my game properly, but I don't know how to fix it (I already consulted these guides , but they have not been much help.
