Default Clinic 11 - Female patients
The new 'patients' however were not registered officially in the clinic documents. Therefore they did not actually exist and were perfect for Dr Sebastiens work.

All the new patients were transferred immediately to the security area in the lower level, this included a group bathroom area and several padded cells.

Female patients were placed in one cell in pairs, he figured as did most men of his era that women were weaker both physically and mentally than men therefore putting two of them together was no danger.

Default Clinic 12 - Male Patients
Male patients of course were treated differently in every aspect, young, fit specimens only were selected to begin with. This of course led to the problem of their strength when the time came for the experimentation etc.

To overcome this Dr Sebastien had the young men placed under a strong muscle relaxant that did not interrupt their mental faculties yet physically rendered them as strong as children. No physical defence possible...

Default Clinic 13 - Patient 654896
Dr Sebastien himself would take care of removing the individual patients from their cells and taking them to his 'treatment' rooms, he quickly discovered that he preferred the stronger patients, both male and female - the working class ones, their physical strength shone through even his most harsh of practices.

He had a new patient, a young man coded Patient 654896, time to commence his 'treatment'....

Default Patient 654896
After several days and nights in Dr Sebastiens private operating and treatment room the young male patient had been broken spiritually and psychologically if not physically.

The proceedures medical, mental and more intimate had taken the poor man down to a base level, his mind worked slowly. All he knew were the sentiments of pain, horror and torment.

Dr Sebastien moved the patient to his office and cranial laboratory. Quickly he attached the young man to a chair then ensuring the patient was secure he started to carve open the mans skull, an attempt to further his medical studies.

Unfortunately for the patient, Dr Sebastien did not see the need for anaesthetic...

Default Just another body
Of course due to the 'treatments' and 'experimentation' that Dr Sebastien had performed on his patient the outcome was obvious.

The young man died, his death had been painful, demeaning and inhumane. Dr Sebastien had sewn the patients skull after removing several sections of his brain, when the patient died as a result his only reaction was to cut the bonds that had held the man to the chair and watch the once young, strong body collpase to the floor in a puddle of the patients own blood.

Dr Sebastien walked around the corpse with a look of distaste, as if it were nothing but garbage and not a living human being only minutes before.

"Damn it. Its been almost 10 years and I still cannot plumb the depths of the psyche. I need more specimens" The Doctor spoke to himself, then re-checked his notes and compared them to his fathers.

Default Disposal
Time was passing and he was no further forward in his studies, although his father was right about many things, such as using the poor for his own private exmperimentations and pleasures of all kinds. Once in his 'care' where he could drug them, incapacitate them and use them as he wished he felt almost like a God. The power he held over his 'patients' was incredible.

Still he had lost yet another, a young man he had spent several hours with getting to know every part of him. Now he was just another body, an empty corpse to be put into the cold storage with the others that had passed away over the years in the clinic.

Default The hallucinations re-appear.
Only a few days passed since the death of Patient 654896 before the 'official' patients of the clinic began to once again suffer from hallucinations.

It started with a young female patient her number 567813 - her real name was almost forgotten, written only in her entry documents in the clinics files.

One night she was awoken in her room, unsure what had woken her she rose from her bed - the door to her room was wide open. This was unheard of in the clinic but she didn't hesitate to leave her room, if only for the illusion of liberty.

Default The corridor part 1
Instead of finding herself in the clinics hallways however she was in a long, narrow corridor, the walls dirty stone, the floor almost black with filth.

The door to her room had disappeared, there was only the corridor leading away in front of her and behind.

Walking slowly forward she heard a noise from in front of her, raising her eyes she saw the figure of a man standing at a corner of the corridor. He was bald and shirtless but that wasn't what scared her. As her eyes focused on his figure she screamed....

Default The corridor part 2
The man had no eyes - just black empty sockets. But even so he seemed to be staring at her, blood stained his mouth and chin, the reverse pentacle carved into his flesh.

A second scream flew from her lips as the man raised one hand and pointed at her.

Turning from this horror she ran back the way she had come, the floor was no longer dry beneath her bare feet, it was wet and sticky....

Default The corridor part 3
As her feet slipped in the wet she realised what she was walking in.

Blood had pooled over the floor where before there had been only the filthy tiles there was now blood fresh and still warm on her bare skin, the coppery odour filling her nostrils.

The blood seemed to be rising even as she stood there frozen with fear, before it had touched just the soles of her bare feet but now the blood was deep enough to cover her feet entirely.

She could only whimper, this nightmare already too much for her fragile mental state when she raised her head her mind snapped completely. On the walls were grotesque heads, mounted on plaques as if trophies, blood trickling from the mouth of the monsters.

Holding her hands to her head to block the vision she fell to her knees....

Default Mind broken
Darkness consumed her as she let herself fall unconscious.

*******************************************************

When she awoke she was in one of the padded cells in the basement. The horror of what she had seen lingered in what was left of her mind.

She was destined to be Dr Sebastiens next 'special case'.

Her body joined those he had 'treated' before her.

Default Duty Nurse Lawson
Duty Nurse Lawson had been on the night shift when the patient had suffered from her hallucination. It was her week of night work, as she sat behind the second floor nurse station she thought of how she had found to poor girl.

She had been soaked in sweat and babbling, the fear of her nightmare evident in her eyes when she had woken. The fear had been almost contagious and Nurse Lawson shivered as she remebered the brief tinge of fear she had felt looking at the patients tear streaked face.

Nurse Lawson had not been at the clinic long, it was her stepping stone to a bigger hospital, she was a strong minded woman and unimaginative but she had felt things here herself. Presence in the basement level that had made her flesh prickle with goosebumps.

With a sigh she glanced at the watch pinned to her uniform, only a couple of hours more and she could retire to her room, a room thoughtfully provided by Dr Sebastien within the clinic itself...

Default Staff fears part 1
Dawn finally arrived and Duty Nurse Lawson's shift was over for the day. With a deep sigh she entered the area of the second floor dedicated solely to the staff. There was a small dining room with kitchen, lounge and three small bedrooms one of which was her own.

Like the patients rooms it was all tiled with the safety grill bolted over the window, at least the furniture was different and with a few personal touches she had made it her own.

As always after changing into her night wear she picked a book from her small personal collection to ease her mind and help her forget the nights events. After reading a few pages of her romance novel she retired to bed.

Default Staff fears part 2
Her eyes blinked in the bright light filtering through the bedroom window, she had been deep asleep and usually slept through til late afternoon when one of the other nurses woke her.

What then had woken her now? Struggling up in her bed she brushed her hair out of her eyes and reluctantly left the warmth of her bed.

There were voices from outside her bedroom door, maybe some of the other nurses were taking a pause and their voices had woken her? Softly she crossed to the door and pulled it open.

At first glance it seemed like the staff area of the clinic then as she left her room she noticed the differences and the breath caught in her throat...

Default Staff fears part 3
Instead of the usual small hall leading to the other staff rooms there was just one passage leading to a door at the far end. It was a passage she was certain did not exist in the clinic, but if not inside the clinic where was she?

The walls and floor were of the clinic as were the metal tables but the animal remains on the tables were hideous, rotting flesh hung on dessicated skeletal remains of what she recognised as feline forms.

Her skin felt cold even through the flannel of her nightgown and her heart pounded as the door at the far end of the passage opened and a figure stepped through the doorway.

She almost let out a cry of relief, it was Dr Sebastien, nothing was wrong here. But then she noticed something looked wrong about the Doctor, unclean and then there was the odour, like bad meat...

Default Staff fears part 4
A frown crossed her face as the odour filled her nostrils, but then as Dr Sebastien beckoned to her and then moved through the door behind him the odour disappeared and her worries with it.

Slowly she followed the handsome, young man into the room beyond, it was warmly lit and she gasped in delight as her eyes took in the sight of the room around her.

A beautifully panelled drawing room, delicate curtains, elegant furnishing, rich carpets. The pinnacle was the cooling bottle of wine and two glasses that stood on a table.

In the dim light she noticed Dr Sebastiens clothing was stained as was his face but she quashed her fears. The offending odour had gone instead she smelt a strong amber perfume as he came towards her with two glasses of dark wine.

Default Staff fears part 5
Taking her glass of wine from his hand she smiled as she raised the glass to her lips. It was all so romantic, yet still something seemed to be amiss.

Tentatively she took a swallow of her wine, and gagged. The wine was thick more like syrup than wine, the taste was harsh, acrid and chemical. For a few moments her eyes seemed to lose focus then she spat out her mouthful of wine.

As she refocused her vision she let out a gasp of horror...

Staff fears part 6
Everything had changed, Dr Sebastien was no longer standing in front of her, the room was no longer in any way the beautiful room it had been. The panelling was now rotting and decayed, the floor the same.

In place of the luxurious sofa was what to her dismay seemed to be a guillotine, and the chair....

The chair seemed to be a machine of torture. Dark wood and iron, spikes poking from the back rest and seat of the chair. Manacles to bind ankle and wrists to the chair. But the worst was the chairs occupant, Dr Sebastien - the man was fixed to the chair by an iron band that afixed just below his throat. Even the air was spoilt, the smell of bad meat and mustiness had returned.

Moving to see if she could aid the Doctor she cried out, his clothing was torn, streaked with what she recognised as still fresh blood his face battered and torn, his eyes leaked tears of blood.

He turned to face her his lips parched
'You cannot help me, you cannot even help yourself. This is the fate for all who dwell here.'

Hearing his words she screamed and ran from the room back to the passage beyond...

Default Staff fears part 7
The passage loomed before her as before, and as before she wasn't alone. She just managed to stifle a scream that rose in her throat.

Blood streaked down the passageway, fresh and deep with the coppery scent that always accompanies blood. The figure moving from the shadows to the light though made her scream, the bile rising in her.

At first she had thought it was a just a man, perhaps one of the patients, but it was worse, more nightmarish than what she had left in the room behind her.

The man had no lower body, just from his waist upwards, shirtless, bald. His skin gleaming wet and waxy in the light. His intenstines hanging over nothing. The blood on the floor was coming from him.

Slowly she started backing towards the door leading back to the room with Dr Sebastien, her eyes never leaving the figure as it moved impossibly ever closer. The figure turned to her with a groaning noise from its torn throat, its empty eye sockets seeming to glare at her.

Pressing against the wall behind her she realised the door had gone and she was alone with this monstrous figure....

**********************************************************

Duty Nurse Lawson was found lying catatonic on the floor of her bedchamber, there was dried blood and vomit on the otherwise pristine floor.

Dr Sebastien knew the best thing for the poor woman was to be entered as a private patient, he would even pay all her medical costs from his own pocket.

Default Clinic transfer
Lawsons's transfer was completed by one of her work colleagues, Lawson herself was still in her high state of shock unable to speak, her movements autonomous.

One of her work colleagues Staff Nurse Marsden wheeled her through the clinic and down to the lower level where Lawson was entered as a patient potentially dangerous to herself. Therefore she was placed in a single occupancy padded cell, for the moment she was still in her own clothing whilst her transfer from staff to patient was completed.

Poor Lawson, her head was still full of the horror of her hallucination, the clammy touch of the torso...
