You are welcome! It partly is an issue with the pose boxes. If the pose boxes animated the old style "shorts" bones correctly, we wouldn't have to change "shorts" to "thigh" in the mesh. However, it is quick(ish) to change in the mesh.

No idea why Maxis used those "shorts" bones, they don't seem to serve a useful purpose. Don't seem functionally different from later upper thigh at all.
