Default Converting Hondo Ohnaka
Hello there,
I know the title may sound a little weird but I'm a huge Star Wars fan. Actually the Batuu Pack was my first one and the reason I started playing sims 4.
Since there is not much Star Wars CC, I started to deal with several Tutorials for Sims 4 Studio and Blender.
After a few changes of CC and ingame hair (for private use only as I don't have the permission to share it) I started a a heart's project to convert the costume for Hondo to single Items so he can be played as a fully functional sim without looking awkward.
And here's the first stumbling block. I'm having a hard time to get the head mesh to work as a hat like the other Batuu masks. Even serious trouble to get it to work in the first place. I tried different categories,
even tried weight paint tutorials but nothing seems to work. Also when I use weight transfer I am unable to join the meshs afterwards.

Any suggestions which tutorials to use or what could be the problem? Or maybe someone already did a conversion like this and has a quick instructions what to do?

Many many thanks! ❤❤❤❤
I found a Sims 4 weight control animation and found the issue. I did the weight transfer wrong. Then I had the problem that didn't know to adjust the weight. These Tutorials are really helpfull. Especially the one for how to manually assign the weight paint.

I am glad you resolved your issue.

In the event you manage to complete this piece of CC, feel free to share it with the community here! I for one would be especially interested in such a thing

I hope I can do that. I don't know yet how to share such things without copyright problems since I had to convert the original EA mesh into a new one to make the head work without the clothes. To share it in this stage I'm afraid the Gameplay pack requirements would be deactivated since it's technically a new mesh.

At the moment he still has the hat and goggles on the head.
In my project file I already managed to close the gaps around the eye area where the goggles were but didn't do the retexture yet (looks kinda weird until now )
The hair is a little more complicated. I don't actually want him to have just single braids since it may look a little weird with his Galaxy's Edge dreadlock hairstyle.
But hey! I doubt we would ever get to see him without his hat if he gets a live action role in one of the upcoming Star Wars series or movies, so I just decided to makle it a full head hairstyle. Unfortunately I don't know how to sculpt hair yet and focus on texture tutorials first, so I can finish some other projects which are just conversions and don't need to be sculpted first
