No, children sleep through the night the same as any other sim (if they don't have pressing needs). It's elders who will get up before 6 if they're fully rested. But because, as you mentioned, children seem to get tired faster than older sims, sometimes it happens that they've conked out after school and gained full energy before midnight. Midnight to 6 is the magic time that all sims (except elders) will keep sleeping even if their energy bar is full. If any sim gets a full bar before midnight (or after 6) then they get straight up (and then get their sleep schedules out of whack, because you can't make them go back to bed if their bar is full).

I actually like that beds give different energy amounts. Makes it more realistic and gives sims something to save up for.

If my sims wake up in the middle of the night, we go Downtown

If they don't, I may wake them up myself and take them Downtown anyway

(Because - why not)?

I rarely use the trash compactor or dishwasher and when I do it's usually always been the older/ silver ones and not the colorful ones from the later EP. However, in my recreation of Goth Manor the newer black ones looked better. To my dismay I found out that the sims didn't compost waste from the trash compactor. Charity thought there had been a fix made for it so I googled ... and she was very correct! LordDarcy at MATY to the rescue. So for anyone else who didn't know... here's the fix link

There's an updated version for AL/M&G here (the original has a text blurb about it)

Judging by the "date changed", they're the exact same files as the (AL) MATY ones.

Hurrah, Joselle made this for @AndrewGloria !

Neat, I never even noticed those options were missing! And I use that compactor all the time.

Though, I ended up installing this version of that mod:
https://modthesims.info/download.php?t=585093

(Though, I don't use the compost bin because the last time I put newspapers in it, I got complained at for having too many newspapers on the lot, and it wouldn't register they were gone. )

I compost all the time and I have never heard of that bug, are you sure they weren't hiding someplace on the lot?

Talking of gardening, we now have holders for our seeds.

I'm sure they weren't on the lot, it had done it after I manually selected "compost" on the newspapers each day, I also had a maid who cleaned daily so they would have got picked up. It's no big deal though, I don't do a whole ton of gardening because if you do, your sim wastes an entire two days just doing weeding and trimming. And the scheduled gardener doesn't come nearly frequently enough, and when they do they say "well it's getting late, got to go" (or something along them lines) before they finish. So I keep gardens with growable's to an absolute minimum.

Pescado has a daily gardener hack here. http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/al/hacks/

The maid only composts if you use a mod. https://modthesims.info/d/230075/maids-use-compost.html If not they use the outside bin.
You had something odd going on.

For those who like building houses, here's a huge collection of scanned houseplan books!

Yeah, I was composting manually on the newspapers until they stopped being delivered, as said above:

I just went on a helluva download spree - somehow, I have not found this tumblr before.

Hey Jonasn (if you read this) - I'm so grateful to find out about the new function of your Memory Commander mod/object that removes Custom Food Memories. Thank you also Gummilutt, whose Tumblr post alerted me to this mod's existence. This is one of those much needed mods that will be a real asset to my game!

Just a question - does anyone know how compatible Jonasn's mod is with Boiling Oil "No Trash Memories"? However, I guess I'm going to find out regardless!

The Los Angeles Chargers (American football team) created a video of their full season schedule in the Sims 2

OMG. This is too funny. I'm more taken back by the custom content that was featured. Someone who works at the Chargers' front office has to be long time Sims 2 player or a few old employees of EA helped them.

Charity 16th May 2024 3:53 PM

I like that they picked Sims 2 over the more recent versions!

They've been to MTS too, judging by some of the CC!

I haven't been on MTS in a long while, so apologize if this has been shared before: An interview with Jonathan Knight, the lead producer of The Sims 2

I went looking for bandages or other wound accessories that would work for my historical settings, and found this arm brace on glove mesh: https://2fingerswhiskey.livejournal.com/170279.html

Then I went exploring the rest of his sims 2 downloads and found a lot more - cc of all sorts. One of the other things that jumped out at me was this set of Canadian provincial flags: https://2fingerswhiskey.livejournal.com/178290.html

It was announced that Margot Robbie is supposed to produce a movie about our beloved pixels, according to this brief article:
https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-...e-b2516326.html

But in case this sounds like deja-vu, it is, because someone tried to do the same thing back in 2007, with disappointing results-mostly due to money:
https://www.theguardian.com/games/a...-that-never-was

However, the premise of Bella Goth's disappearance should not be the only plot-I think Strangetown would have been far worthier of a movie.

We shall see. I bet almost all Sims fans (no matter which game) could produce a better movie, and most of us have already.

That's because we're still playing it.
