It's okay if it's different (since most cities are a patchwork anyway) but it saves me having to download the lot adjuster - particularly if I can get these walls in brick and concrete finishes. #Ace Edited to include: I'd build the entirety of my building first - exactly as if I was going to use the lot adjuster, and then slap these on the sides to fill up that gap. I'm gonna test this this week, but I think it'd work. I'd only need to be able to put floor tiles for a roof on top (which may or may not be possible...) |
It's certainly handy to have wall height fencing but attached garages are better using wall.

WizTree is a free program that shows what's using up all your hard drive space. I've found it has another use:

In this thread at GOS TFW has made two working kiddie wading pools, converted from S4, cloned from Rebecah's and recolored:
http://gardenofshadows.org.uk/garde...4.msg736061#new Swimming With The Fishies - Cheap Kiddie Pool 4t2 There are two versions-the cheap and the expensive one. |
Wow! Those are really nice. Thanks, Fran
|
They are nice but twofingerswhiskey is known for very high poly stuff, so I am going to have to pass.
|
I found that the packages are huge-and so I used the compressorizer on them. Average size-1325-reduced down to 200. Saved over 2 mgb of space that way. But another thing is that they're not autonomous, and the toddlers aren't automatically attracted to them.
|
The high-poly stuff from 2FW is mostly conversions from TS3/4 creators (often Emyssims, who has extremely high poly items). The pools are from TS4 Seasons, which mostly has similar polycounts to TS2, so I'd think they're fairly safe to use.
As for the file size, it's because they most likely use 1024x1024 sized maps (usually end up roughly 1 MB in size) and the files aren't compressed. Compressing the files should get them down to around 200-500 kb, depending on the texture. |
I think checking poly counts on an object is more logical than assuming they are too high. The cheap one is only 674, and the expensive one is 1874. Both quite low considering they take up 4 tiles physically in game.
|
I love those kiddie pools! And since I have just cleaned up my downloads folder, in they will go

Tots gain Body skill from playing in those kiddie pools. If you leave one in there long enough, you could end up with a super athlete in diapers!

Also to whoever disagreed, even if that particular download isn't high poly, that creator has some extremely high poly conversions. |
VitaSims downloads. Some of them, just found out some of the pages are unavailable. You have to click on the picture.

Speaking of high polys, Vita Sims has some of the highest in downloads. You do want to be careful with them.

High-poly stuff isn't too bad when you use it sparingly.
|
By the way, as a reminder-it's not always objects that have high poly counts. You know those beautiful hairs you see? Check those out. They'll shock you with their counts-especially creators like PeggySims..who was notorious for them. And cars-those things take the cake and the spaceship launch.

TS4 and TS3 creators use a ton more polys than neccessary, either using meshes straight from high-poly mesh sites or jacking up the polycount 5-6 times too many to smooth it out. I found a TS4 object (a cake) I thought might look nice, and decided to open it up and see if it needed some modifications (because I usually don't convert high-poly meshes without giving de-polifying a go first), and wondered why it spent so much time getting extracted (took 10-15 minutes in S4S, most of the time it only takes a few seconds). Then I looked at the polycount. 300.000 polys. For a cake. My jaw almost hit the floor. |

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but I found a great bulk renamer tool called Ant Renamer and it's super easy to use. I tried to use the Bulk Rename Utility but it was a little too complicated for me. I followed this mini-tutorial by Pooklet to get started and it works without hangups .

I've been using Lupas Rename 2000 lately, so that's another option.

Beosboxboy also made an open grave. The grave itself looks awfully artificial compared to the one by Bootsbrisket, but Beosboxboy's version comes with a lot of interesting accessories (liquor bottle, shovel, graveyard mist, dead guys - one for the grave and one for above ground, etc.). The "mist" looks great in the Goth family cemetery. I have no idea whether ACR will see this grave as a hot tub.

That grave has way better texture variation and smoothening, looks more maxis match for some reason, however, outer rim looks super artificial. I'd use it more often as haloween decor than for stories.

Browsing on Tumblr today, and found a post that Lovevulcans4ever did-it's a link to almost all the lots from relatively unknown creator named Rafa-I used to browse his site looking for new stuff, and he was a very good creator at his site, "The Lot Bucket". (See image of Site header below).
Anyway-here's the SFS link to all of the lots they were able to find from it: http://simfileshare.net/folder/36188/ I think I'm gonna go nuts... |

Oh, this is just the best thing EVER! Back in March I finally figured out how to keep sims from putting babies on the floor and act like proper parents, instead, but they could only use Maxis space-hogging cribs and tables to do it. http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...ies#post5358587

I found on Tumblr that someone converted The Sims 3 Sim Valley's lots into Sims 2.
My Sunset Valley 3T2 Lots Master Post Hey there everyone! Since I finished all of my Sunset Valley lot recreations, I wanted to make a post that has them all in one place. Everyone has been so kind and supportive and it really helped my motivation. Under the cut you will find a list of all 65 lots I have completed (+8 unfurnished versions), each with a picture, a link to the post where you can find the download link, and additional photos. They are all CC FREE. I have the Ultimate Collection, so many of them have content from various expansions. Make sure you use caution and Clean Installer when putting these in your game. A rug fix and Bon Voyage rock fix may show up in clean installer, just un-check them if they do. Back up your files often to be safe. The empty neighborhood will be available soon, and I will update this with a link when it is. Enjoy! http://danies-simsational-blog.tumb...ots-master-post |

That's hilarious. I spend most of my time in the downloads area and have just been on another spree. You can be here for years and never know about the gems lurking within.

Plus with lots on MTS we do our best to make sure they are safe. Not that we can catch everything, but lots that we suspect of having sim references must be cleaned first and we check files for hacks.

Here I noticed that developer used ATI videocard (Look at the taskbar). if you look at the graphics of the game, it resembles the maximum graphics settings. And since it came out in September 2004, and dramatically changed its appearance in late 2003, I think this computer used a video card series ATI Radeon 9000, namely 9550 or more productive models. I did not understand this at all. |
