Oh, my lord, the gnomes have taken over the game...by the way, in the description of the gnome making table, it was mentioned that if you play the game long enough with these little buggers, their poses will change.

Just like the gnomes in Sims 3. I wanted that for a long time for Sims 2! (But don't tell @The Gnome )

maybe this is old news and I'm just late to the party

hyperventilation! Can't wait to get this in my game! Every week it's like Christmas! My only complaint is I can't play all my goodies at the same time because the game would take forever to load. :3

"Clickable Neighbors" doesn't have anything to do with Neighborhood View. "Clickable Neighbors" was introduced with Nightlife and allows you to load a neighboring lot just by clicking on it from Lot view in Live Mode. In other words - when you're in a playable sim's lot, you can click on any other visible occupied lot to get the option to visit it. I think this only works if you have a YA or older selected at the time. I'm not sure whether it works with teens. I know for a fact it will NOT work with toddlers and children - just tells you who lives in that house.

FranH 21st Apr 2019 12:48 PM

It does work with teens. The 'click neighbors' is a very useful option when you're playing a rotation. In fact, if you have PacMani's camera mod you can zoom out all the way and home in on the house that is seemingly at the other end of the map.

Quote:
No more boundaries which limit your moving range on a lot! You can move over the whole neighborhood, and you will not stop moving at "invisible walls" around your house. You can even move outside the visible area.

The reason I mentioned this camera mod is because it's always been a 'awesome find' to me ever since it was released.

Fran! Thank you. I just tried PacMani's camera mod and it was perfect for hilly Calamity Hills lot elevations except it gave a fishbowl effect (maybe my monitor is too big?). But taking what they did and turning the settings way down got rid of the fisheye thing and now I can switch between the floors on multi story buildings more easily without the camera jumping around so much. Such a small thing but a huge quality of life improvement.

Thanks again for sharing and Happy Easter.

RoxEllen1965 21st Apr 2019 10:43 PM

I just realized that I had downloaded PacMani's camera quite some time ago and never got around to putting it my game. Thanks for reminding me about it. (Trying it out now so I don't forget to put it in my game again.)

Sorry to double post, but breakthrough! Toddler separates!
https://itsdiamondeyesuniverse.tumb...d-a-gift-that-i

smorbie1 9th May 2019 7:14 PM

Okay, you guys know I'm dumb. I downloaded the separates, and can't wait to use them. But...I maybe didn't understand the directions. Could someone explain in words of one syllable or less, possibly with diagrams, how to get them to show up?

Also, @charity, I haven't forgotten you are going to help me with the expansions we can't discuss. My life has been much busier than I like for the last few weeks.
But the super-good news is, my cancer isn't back. And, one of my doctors says he thinks I'm completely cured.

the bad news is my mother is quite ill now and I'm busy trying to stay on top of that.

joandsarah77 10th May 2019 12:07 AM

I feel the same way about the separates @smorbie1 I want to use them but are ab it worried about how to install them. I think I will try in a test folder.

So happy that you are cancer free.

Thoughts and prayers for your mum.

Looking in the file it makes more sense. In each download is a folder called Body for thumbnails. I have cut and pasted just those into my Download folder. Then she says to load the game and scroll through to generate the proper thumbnails. Once I am done playing today I delete all of those and replace them with the rest of the top and bottom files and next time I load the game the clothes should show up. That's how I tale it anyway.

smorbie1 10th May 2019 3:24 AM

That's how I read it, also. But I hadn't peeked at the folders yet to see what was inside of them. I'm glad we both see it the same way. Big sigh..I'll give it a try. Backing up game first, of course.

I probably should have been a bit more clear. I'm not just jumping up and down still because the cancer isn't back. The doctor thought it might have been, and in my liver, which would have been a fast ticket to Heaven. But, it turns out it's not a great idea to have cancer blood work done when you have a bad virus. It knocks all your lab values out of whack and frightens the doctor, who, in turn, must frighten the patient.

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm done derailing. Now let's back up those games and stick those folders in them! Want to race?

Lol, I have my game loaded to the menu now, but I take a break between each step. I clean then rest not being a well person myself. I have never had cancer though, strong vibes to you smorbie1. The liver will regenerate, I had a toxic liver some 20 odd years ago but it's fine now.

Tomorrow we should post pictures of our cute toddlers.

Hmm well I added just those body files and did not get top and bottom thumbnails just full body thumbnails showing I am missing a mesh. Anyone else tried this?

Okay she says +mesh, so now I am thinking that is in the other folder. I thought she meant the mesh was included in with the Body for thumbnails folder

I just had my first baby grow up since I put the separates in the game. He grew up in a little blue shirt and darker blue pants. He is so ADORABLE!!!! I love them! They were not the bugaboo I thought they were going to be to be install.
1. Open each file. There are 10. Inside each folder is a mesh and a folder called "body".
2. Put those in the downloads folder. I put them in a common folder called "toddler separates" so I could easily find them later.
3. When you are playing, open up the toddlers' clothes folders. I used the gussy up function, but you can go buy clothes.
4. Just click through the toddlers clothes. You will see the thumbnails, but don't try to buy them yet.
5. Exit the game.
6. Open the folders again and remove the folder marked "body", replacing it with the rest of the files in the original folders.
7. There you go. Adorbs city.

Sorry if that's repetitive, but the instructions kind of scared me, so I thought I would make them simpler just in case there's someone out there like me.

Very helpful. I didn't find them scary, but "fussy." This is good.

Hey, guys, this is something new and I'm hoping it will be awesome. I'm working on providing a way to make creating share-able subhoods of any type easier for UC players who aren't comfortable with AnyGameStarter, with changing installation files, using SimPE, etc. It could be awesome-er with your feedback to improve files, instructions, etc. https://sunradersimblr.tumblr.com/p...king-share-able

smorbie1 12th May 2019 9:34 PM

Thank you for reassuring me that my instructions weren't stupid.

I am actually the ideal customer for your sharable thingy because I can't use anygamestarter and can't get SimPe to stop trying to kill me. I can't wait for you to have this completed **starts breathing heavily with excitement***

As I've said many times, I'm not what anyone would call tech savvy, so it may not surprise you that I'm going to ask you to simplify the instructions. For me, it's always better if you use the simplest words possible because I tend to get frustrated when the nomenclature gets above my head. Also, please consider putting the final instructions in steps like I did above. It's just really helpful to isolate step by step so I don't get confused and overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, I'm so seriously excited about that! I have a number of hoods I'm dying to convert. So, what are you doing reading this? Hop to it! And thank you 10000 times is advance. :3

It's as complete as it can be unless I find a problem, #smorbie1, so go ahead and give it a try.

There are basically 5 steps that are numbered, although they do have a bit of explanation for each step.

For a very general overview, you don't have to do anything with AnyGameStarter or your installation files. You don't need to create a userStartup or turn on testing cheats. You don't need to rename the subhood. All those things are done.
All you have to do is choose my file with the terrains you want, download and unzip, then
1) rename your game folder (The Simsâ„¢ 2 Ultimate Collection folder) to save it and put mine in,
2) run your game and build your hood on one of the hoods inside,
3) use the changeneighborhoodtype cheat to change the subhood type
4) put the subhood in the right folder (in the tumblr post) so you can attach it to a main hood in any regular game.
5) Rename your The Simsâ„¢ 2 Ultimate Collection folder to start your regular game so you can attach the subhood to a main hood.

Look over the post for more detail or check Moo's tutorial or just ask questions on tumblr or in PM if you prefer. You won't be able to convert a hood that is already built because it wasn't made in a clean environment like these are, but you can use one of these to start a new hood and add your CC and lots and sims to it if you like.

I recommend just do a quick test hood so you get the idea of process.

I assume you mean that you could choose a terrain for a new hood? If that's what you mean, then, yes, you could.

This, however, is about making a subhood (shopping district, downtown, uni, vacation, etc) that can be attached to any main hood, yours or someone else's.

Normally, to do that, you have to use AnyGameStarter or disable installation files to create a "clean, empty" environment and you have to use SimPE and a few other things. If you don't, then hoods you create will not be clean and empty and they will not convert to share-able attach-able subhoods.

I'm trying to offer a way to do it without going through all those steps, by, basically, giving you clean, empty starter hoods to begin with and putting them in a game folder that is already set up to let you change them to the kind of subhood you want and to keep them from conflicting with any game-created hoods you already have.

With this "environment," you get to skip a lot of steps you would need to do, otherwise.

But to let you do that with any Maxis terrain, I need to give you a starter hood with each terrain. So, I have.

(Caveat for other simmers: I am aware that I could share only the starter hoods themselves, but that would not be nearly as easy for players who don't quite understand the process. That being said, people can certainly use them that way if they want to and know how. That's actually what I wanted, clean templates based on other terrains, when I started, but I couldn't find them, so I've made them.)

What I tried to say, was. No matter what method, the ONLY way to create an empty enviroment with UC is to manually disable all the stealth hoods. And that is by editing folders and files at Programfiles, NOT at My Documents. Or use the AGS for UC (only for share .. or if you like to play your game at AGS UC).

When person who loads a new hood, made at an empty environment (or if person allready playing with stealth hoods disabled suddenly allows those, the first time they load the hood after that) ,
When mainhood is loaded for a first time, at THEIR (downloaders) game, NO matter how it has been done at the uploaders game, it WILL add all the stealth hoods (no matter if you use empty ones or maxian ones with bin sims, it still adds the hoods) , unless the person who downloads the hood is also allready made the steps to disallow the stealth hoods and original N001. (Or adding the hoods in their AGS for UC game)

ONLY way to have an empty environment with UC is:

a) rename the original N001 ( at regular setup): Program Files ->Origin Games->The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection->Double Deluxe->Base->TSData->Res->Userdata->Neighborhoods .. to something like "Neighborhoods_original" , as in Moo's tutorial. To prevent PV townies
b) disable the stealthoods manually (at program files)
c) or use this (Numenors AGS for UC ) : http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=604873 , BUT as in UC (and with method above) it still needs M&G , and naturally does not affect at your regular game files, that (AGS for UC) is more like for creating a hood to share with others , than to play.

Thank you for your input - this is all experimental so it's helpful to get feedback and I'll be doing more testing. If what you say is true, we may just have to go ahead and make the subhoods and share those.

I am loving this streamer I just discovered. Totally different play-style than I have ever seen before. He plays sims that are characters from other games... I think... it's so new to me, I'm not entirely sure. But it's so freeing. https://www.twitch.tv/papatulus

Unfortunately one of the links lead to the original meshes, which you cannot download from drop box without being a member. I've tried even without any anti-block off, and they do not download.

I do wish people would switch to SFS because that's the only way to get the older files.

I was able to get it @FranH - you just have to take the whole folder.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/y4qrlw28z...s-2015.rar?dl=0
In the upper right hand corner, it says Sign In and Download.
Just click Download then Direct Download. I got it and then took the parts I needed/wanted. Hope this helps.

I tried to download part of this from Dropbox and I can not download. Don't know about anyone else, but I have had a problem with this.

Edit: nevermind got it from previous post.

Picnic tables anyone?

There's one in this set too:

Then memento has some cool clothes conversions for males and females:

RentedSpace, too! I can't believe I missed some of these:

Finally, shameless plug, if you haven't checked it out, I did upload a tutorial, How to Change the Mesh/Model of a Mod into a Different Custom Object. Very similar to Sunrader's tutorial, but it's for changing a mod's mesh to a custom object. I tried to be as through as possible so let me know if you have any feedback!

Also let me know if the above links don't work; it looks like they get shortened. I didn't realize that before.

RoxEllen1965 25th May 2019 12:09 PM

I notice that Nuttydazesublime recommends an invisible dining booth for use with the picnic tables. This requires messing about with moveobjectson. For years, I've been using the invisible chairs that came with Inge's picnic bench. You just place them next to the table and they don't require any special cheats - only a patch file which is linked right below the picnic bench.

Okay... another month without playing. I am not going to make the same mistake again. First I am going to play the game, AND THEN I will check this thread. This last page alone sounds tempting enough! I could be here for hours.

Bigsimsfan12 27th May 2019 4:41 PM

I found some Furbies for my Sims :lovestruc I'm really happy because my toddlers can actually use them. I find that most cute toys are just decorations. Now if only I could find some cabbage patch kids and carebears and I can relive all my childhood dreams.

Edit: Also found this
Just a list of make-up with some pictures. I don't really know anything about real life make-up and have a lot of trouble finding something nice for my Sims so I'll plonk this here so I can have a proper look at them later. I'm weirdly picky, nothing seems to ever look good in my game

OMG! We should all be required by law to download those. Adorbs

Sim world map here
Fairly close to how I picture it when I play my megahood, only I would've put Sim state near to Belladonna Cove and Desiderata valley closer to Pleasantview.

RoxEllen1965 28th May 2019 7:23 PM

That's cool! I hadn't seen that one before. I did find this big world map on forums.thesims.com a couple of years ago. The image in the post is just a very large thumbnail. Click on it to see the map image big enough to read. This is a very large image. (30 megabyte .png file)

Zarathustra made a new lot, here on MTS.

My computer can't. But look at the pictures! It's so perfectly cyberpunk! And it has half a detective story with it . . .

"little dickens" ??!! That sounds...not good. If it wasn't the middle of the night I would go find a proper congratulation & best wishes. Balloons and fire-works and butterflies and motion and sparkles. And some cute puppies. An funny stuffed toy thingies...

smorbie1 5th Jun 2019 1:13 PM

Sad to report Bigsimsfan is now overdue. She posted on the general threads. I went over by almost three weeks. Those were different times. I think she will likely be induced pretty soon.

joandsarah77 5th Jun 2019 1:45 PM

They don't allow more than two now, but every day over feels like a week I know.

Bigsimsfan12 5th Jun 2019 5:49 PM

Haha thank you all Still no baby and annoyingly no induction date.

smorbie1 5th Jun 2019 6:06 PM

I was feeling guilty cause this thread got hijacked and it was kind of my fault. But the title of this thread is "look at this awesome thing I found". How true will that be in a day or two!

Bigsimsfan12 5th Jun 2019 6:36 PM

Maybe to keep this thread on topic I can post an awesome thing I found for every day i'm still pregnant.

Day 1 of "get this child out of me" saga: Here's a youtube video on how to make interesting Sims in bodyshop. I believe someone linked to it on another thread and I thought it was really interesting.

Here's hoping I'm not here for tomorrow's exciting installment of the "get this child out of me" saga

Phantomknight 5th Jun 2019 7:55 PM

They say eating spicy foods helps induce labor. No idea if it's really true, but it worked for my aunt. Or at least that's the story my family tells about the night my little cousin was born. I was like 6 back then so I've no idea what we actually ate.

mustluvcatz 5th Jun 2019 9:31 PM

Not one of my 5 boys was born on my due date - their actual birthdays range from 3 weeks overdue to a month early (induced because of complications). Due dates are just a guesstimate.. which in the case of being 3 weeks overdue really, really sucked.

Spicy food, walking, sex... all worth a try, not necessarily in that order, lol.

Bigsimsfan12 5th Jun 2019 9:59 PM

Spicy food worked for my Mum when she was pregnant with my youngest brother. Doesn't work on me though, I eat spicy food quite regularly. I've eaten some tacos today covered with chipotle and jalapeno peppers and all I have is bad acid reflux. I've tried it all, walking, sex, spicy food, warm baths, sitting on an exercise ball, relaxing... I think I'm going to be pregnant for a while. I wouldn't really mind so much being slightly overdue but my whole medical care has been so lacking the whole time I've been pregnant. I've missed out on a few important tests due to inconsistant midwives who just want to do a quick check-up and get me out (that's all we get in the UK, no OB/GYN or doctors unless needed) that I'm just getting very nervous about things going wrong and not getting the care I need.

Sunbee 5th Jun 2019 10:38 PM

Oh, that really sucks, Bigsimsfan12. The midwives I had were very attentive--we did monitoring of my glucose levels for weeks to make sure I was in good shape, because I have big babies and react badly to the glucose drink. Can you just not fire an incompetent or incompatible care provider over there and get one who suits you better? Even on the 'poor' government coverage here, you can change providers if you want to.

Bigsimsfan12 5th Jun 2019 10:51 PM

One of my problems was that I'm high-risk for gestational diabetes and have never been tested for it. Not even once. I've gained a lot of weight all of a sudden in the last trimester (my scans at 12 and 20 weeks both showed the baby being slightly smaller than average though), I'm always thirsty and I'm always tired - but they keep saying "that's just pregnancy!". My midwife I haven't seen since February. Every single time since then that I've tried to book my next appointment, I've either been told she's on annual leave, sick or all booked up so I've had to just have whatever midwife is available. I have no idea who to complain to about it.

Amongst other things they didn't bother to do, they didn't tell me I needed to get my whooping cough vaccine between 16-32 weeks pregnant until I was 36ish weeks, and they didn't start my prenatal classes (10ish weeks worth of classes) until 4 weeks ago. So maybe it's better that baby stays in there for a little longer

joandsarah77 6th Jun 2019 12:24 AM

That's very strange and rather lax medical care they are giving. No diabetes check, especially if you are always thirsty?? The gestational diabetes check is done on everyone here, regardless. Are you American? The medical care there is so scary.

aelflaed 6th Jun 2019 1:48 AM

@Bigsimsfan12
Off-road driving is another suggestion I've heard to encourage the happy event.

Hope all goes well, whenever it goes!

Nope. Wales. I presume it's with all the NHS cutbacks and whatnot. Who knows, this is my first experience of pregnancy. I was originally a high-risk pregnancy due to PCOS and my Mum dying due to pregnancy complications. Saw the consultant once who was too busy asking about my latex allergy and then decided I was a low risk pregnancy. No tests. Still have PCOS and a dead Mum. Dunno what changed his mind considering the lack of GD test.

To be fair the always thirsty thing might be something else. Every time I have an early morning appointment, they tell me I have an infection, give me antibiotics and then change their mind within a few days and tell me "it's just because you're dehydrated it messed up our results". Maybe I just don't drink enough in general.

Tried driving on bumpy roads. The closest I'm going to get to any off-road terrain. Didn't work.

Justpetro 6th Jun 2019 10:59 AM

joandsarah77 6th Jun 2019 12:15 PM

I am keeping an eye on this thread too. *Good vibes* Bigsimsfan12 Cuts don't sound good as I always thought the NHS as being one of the best care systems. drink lots of red raspberry leaf tea.

Enjoji 6th Jun 2019 1:59 PM

The NHS is not what it used to be anymore - the amount of cuts the government have made all round has really choked the system, and what was one of the best healthcare systems around feels like it's dying a very slow death....
My thoughts and well wishes go out to you @Bigsimsfan12 - I do hope you get the proper care and attention you need, and get it soon....
I remember my former sister-in-law was quite overdue with my nephew - one evening I made her belly laugh for 30 mins straight. She went into labour later that night, lol...

smorbie1 6th Jun 2019 5:38 PM
