How do you put a image in your "About Me" section? Please tell.

Meh. They're OK, the photoskinning is a nice job, but I don't like them that much.
They somehow look too comic-ish for me...

I made them, might as well try to upload. Who knows, I might revive my old No Pupil Eyes project I decided against. Oh, and for the record, Those first few sets I did, were merely for getting used to creating, and stuff. They don't count.

My first few (ok well the 2nd + 3rd ones pass as a 6.6 at least on a scale from one to ten) SUCKED, frankly. I did them to get used to creating. I dont' like eyes without pupils unless they're totally fantasy eyes. I also find it impossible to make anime-ish looking Sims with Sims 2 and 3 so I don't really download anime eyes either.

How do I remove a large shine from an eye? Nina if you're listening, I followed your advanced youtube tutorial and I made an eye... then I screwed up... and made the shines in the bottom corner of the eye too opaque! NOW IT LOOKS SCREWED UP. I need your help! Someone! Anyone! *panicflailpanicflail*

^ooohhh... Sad...

I'm guessing the shine wasn't in a separate layer??
I've got two ideas for you:

número uno- use the magic selection brush, select the shine, layer with cut, and use the eyedropper to fill on the cut-out bit of the iris.

Número dos- just use the eyedropper tool to paint over your shine. You can start over from there

Well, there's no easy way to remove it, sorry.. =/ The best thing you can do is taking the colors of the iris and the sclera and patiently paint on the shine point by point. Or maybe you can copy a part of the iris and paste it on the shine and make the texture fit with the rest of the eye smudging a little bit..

My very own eyes, the ones sittin' in my head. For the record, I didn't use "Sparkling Eyes" at all. If needs be, I'll change the highlights. They were based on how they looked in the mirror in our bathroom. So, if my eyes in real life look like -shady-'s awesome eyes, forgive me.

Thanks! I'll try to make more using this base if I can. I really don't know if my eyes are blue, or green. Nobody agrees on a single colour. I just say aqua or turquoise.

They're REALLY great!

You hand-painted them, right?

Define "hand painted" for me please. I start with the whites, then the tear duct. I use brushes. Then make a circle using the circle select, shrink, delete. Then center lines, add a pupil with fussy brush. Add the muscle fibers via smudging and pencil tool, add layer, paint on the highlights, copy top layer to separate file (for safe keeping). When all the pupils/whites/ducts are done, save the "backup gray". Circle select around the iris, colorize. Having saved the highlights separate, I can adjust the darkness lightness without messing them up. Then once if put down that base layer of colour, I can go in and add (in this case for my eyes which I guess are blue) some green, and for me, some gold around the pupil. I pretty much hand to the iris and all, but not the colors. So I'm not sure if that's "hand painting" or not.

Not so great in BS, here's the fixed texture. They will probably still need a little work. They looked really intense. Like, X-ray eyes or something.

Me, and me As you may or may not know, I don't give out my gender. My brother said they were both freakishly uncanny in looking like me. The one of my opposing gender he thought was freakishly strange in being accurate. My hair varies between these to styles depending on the air, and other factors. I'm really happy with these.

I have a lot of facial scarring, so I represented that on these. I tend to always frown.

The eyes before the last post I made, I was thinking of calling them "Beautiful Eyes:Cloudy Skies". The highlight is based on what eyes look like on a cloudy-ish day. None of these have been tested in BS yet, I'll check them later.

Great. Although you shoul shade over the top of the eye a bit more, the highlight on the shading looks a bit un-realistic.

Humm.. they were a fail, I'm getting too demanding with my work, and after doing 47 eyes of the set I thought that they weren't good enough and I closed BS and photoshop.. sorry

Hm.. Very cartoony. If that's what yer doing, go for it! They may look a tad bit intense though... watch out for that.

Ugh.... these just don't look right. While in Gimp the texture looked very lifelike and deep. When imported they lost it... sigh.... any tips? The colouring pattern is base colour )IE grass green, light blue, etc) "harmonizing colour", and ultra saturation around the outer edge. I think I need to redo the highlighs or something. Make the tops darker. IDK, maybe you all like them as they are? It's just... My standard are like -shady-'s sparkling eyes. So deep, sot pretty. Mine just look flat. I'm sorry, I'm probably whining like the little brat I am.

sclera needs work too. I've been playng the sims (and "The lord of the rings:the battle for middle earth" A LOT LATELY. As with trying to finish my comic. Working on some concept work for the VERY very end. See it o the "Arts/art forums soon! Assuming it doesn't get flagged

Remember I asked a question (a rather off topic question) about what you do when you're angry? It occurred to me, I never answers my own question! If I'm emotionally distraught (and I'm a whinny, sensitive little @ hole), I tend to bite/cut/claw myself, maybe punch walls, write poetry my parents would send me to a psychiatrist for. Things like that. My BFF doesn't "approve" of my masochistic ways of dealing with emotion and got me in serious trouble. Thankfully, I didn't lie to my parents because my mother euphemistically use the word scratch not cut. So I promised not to "scratch myself" So I go from medium sharp thing to VERY sharp things. Even if I wanted to stop I can't. My arms hurt worse when I don't. Nose bleeds... Anyway, my BFF has habits I don't "approve" of either so fair is fair. I always want to taste people whom I'm close to's blood.... Am I weird? I feel like blood is the physical incarnation of a of a person's soul. Uhh... I should shut up now.

Alex, that's a cache error, according to them. Sometimes it takes a while for changes to show up (ie putting something into your Personal Picks, becoming a Creator for first time, changing your avatar or signature). I'm planning on working on another eye set in a style similar to yours Alex!

I'm on my last set, android, which is gonna be a metally thing for the sclera and a lasery thing for the iris. It's kinda hard to explain.

Found ,em NICE! Wow skin tones? I'm WAY to lazy for something like that. Maybe someday. I did once think about (based on MY comics') Light and Dark Elfs skin. Namely very pinkish and blue/purplish respectively. $#i+! I've been whining about the eyes, I forgot about making my light elf dark elf eyes! IT'S THE WHOLE REASON I LEARNED TO MAKE REALISTIC EYES!

Will post "Brutal Eyes" soon. They're not gonna be pretty, or nice, or remotely sweet, gentle, kind, generous, honest, etc. THEY'RE GONNA BE BRUTAL! The most brutal eyes, since, uh... never mind.

Imagine you're in the middle of a sappy teenage Disney show. Then, the main character opens his eyes. Instead of sweet, shiny blue eyse, they're black as the darkest, darkest, darkest, darkest... night, as dark as the soul of... uh, evil person. Yeah. It's not going to make you want to kiss the person with the eyes; they're going to make you want to kill them, slap them, beat them up and leave them on a roadside to die. These eyes will drive you into a rage!!

They're nice, but something looks off about them.

I'm having problems with my "Brutal Eyes"... d'you guys have any suggestsions how to make eyes look more brutal and less pretty?

Less shading. Like Edward Elric's eyes, leave them sorta blank.

I'll upload these tomorrow. I don't have the time. These need a long description because when people think elf, they aren't thinking "oh! I see, they are from the elfs from the manga My Knight . Here are the upload pics.Elf eyes are meant (in my manga) to be very intense looking. Though I can't really do this, some are guy's, others are gals. The red ring is and area full of blood. Elfs, under extensive emotional stress cry tears of blood. Also, I did contacts too. If these are a success, I'll do My Knight's goblins' eyes too. maybe not, it depends.

For what it's worth, the characters eyes/modeling the eyes are

Shia, a light elf male
Luna, a dark elf female
Pearl, a light elf female
Zane, a dark elf male.

That's not really how I imagine elves. I think of them more as WoW (world of warcraft) elves. I don't really like the rings around the eyes, but I guess that's just me. I suppose I might aswell also work on some fantasy eyes while my Brutal eyes are staring at me creepily.

Exactly, My elfs are different. Some do have blue eyes but not all. Mainly this takes place in the far future, after a World wide nuclear exchange and an ice age. The elfs are part genetic mutation, and divine intervention (AKA they can use spells). I have 3 main stories all of which are linked. Remember, Tolkien reinvented many of the traditional things. Maybe people will think that my elfs are utterly stupid? Who knows? In either case, they are unique, you have to give me that

really? My elves are more like this.

Humans says that they were the first intelligent beings on earth, but they were wrong. There were communicative species before all else, called "Efas" or "elves" in modern day English. The Efas were beautiful, possessing jewel-like skin tones and large ears. Many of them had pinkish or light apricot colored skin, and ones that had different, more vibrant skins were considered to be more beautiful.



Basically, here's how it works: eyes match skintone. Skintone matches eyes. Hair is black... for pure-blooded elves anyway. Shortly after the demise of the 4th Kingdom (known as the Silver Kingdom), creatures from the North began invading and slowly began to seep into the elves' culture. The elves were eventually captured by these creatures (known as "human") and began to work in slavery to them. Many of these were males humans who began to take the most beautiful elves as wives.



Elves that lived in conjuction with the humans and made physical contact with them daily began morphing into humanlike species, losing the jewel-like skintones and adopting fair hair and eyes:



While others, born from Efas mothers and human fathers, became half-breeds.



Half-breeds and humans were scorned by the elves; the elves eventually morphed into mostly-humans.

@lovetadraw- I agree with Torako, the rings around the eyes are a bit odd. If you really want them, try blurring them into the rest of the eye.

@Torako- Make them blacker than the blackest black times infinity.

Alex - I would. Except MTS doesn't like it if it's totally black. Once I submitted a kimono recolor that wasn't even black, but they thought it was and they said no.

I'm sorta happy with them, though I made a tweek yesterday night. So I'll see what I (and you all) think is better.

Try adding little smudges around the pupil and adding more colors. Or, you can add another ring of color around the pupil.

Notice the little greenish ring around the pupil? Try doing something like that.

Lovetadraw: they look okay, but please blur the black circle thingy into the colored big circle part, and then that into the whites of eye a little more. The edges are quite sharp. Also, blend the shines into the eyes a little more. Not a lot, but just blur the edges a little.

A mild preview, I'm going back to basics. I'm working with the whites from the "Real Eyes" set. One day I'll fix the pink poking through where it oughtn't.

Try adding more colors and lines, but you have a good base there.

And darken the iris, WAAAAAAY too intense. I lost site of the first success and tried to be amazing and failed. Just make my eyes no fancy high-sat rings around, just what looks right. Y'know? Oh, and the I over blurred the pupil I think.

Try smudging the pupil instead of blurring, and make a dark ring around the pupil.

Here how's this? I made the pupil bigger. I'll try ti make a coloured one for he next preview.

OH! And fixed the shading (or lack there of).

I actually think it's better with a smaller pupil.

Sadly I don't make separate layers for the pupil so I had to make the pupil bigger to fix the blur. MEH! I'll remember this next time I hit "Merge Down". Oh well, I still like them.

I think If I can get a set uploaded I'm happy with, I'll be able to get my "mojo" back. These aren't perfect, but I have to be a little imperfect, look back and see what was wrong, and fix it in the next set, to learn. Get me? That's why I bet for comments.

Yup. But I think it's better that you start with a more colorful eye, so you can mix in all of the different shades. It's much harder to do if you start with grey!

I've tried both ways, eh, to me, gray is easier. But whatever!

By the way, I made defaults of my "Real Eyes"! I got SimPE yesterday. Uploading as we speak. Though, I'm not so sure that I'll get a ton of DLs, Why not?
