Suits really nice, Tudor!

The cottage is completely lost, I should've put it in the bin
Starting a new one, though.

That kind of thing has happened to me a couple of times, the one positive thing I found was that it helped me improve the original designs as I had to rebuild and rethink as I went along. Luckily for you there's the pictures you took before losing it so you can always work from them.
Meanwhile, all this talk of Showtime has inspired me to renovate and victorianise 'Performance Park'. Currently on a large lot, I'm thinking of re-doing it back on the original lot size of 30 by 30 for uploading.

Also, an audience member died right at the end of my sim's performance there...

But he got paid, so I guess he's got that going for him...

The park is very nicely done!

As for me I added a small turret and changed out a couple windows to the farmhouse and started a Tudor Revival style home the other day!

And you do realize this thread has over 500 post now right???

Your Tudor Revival is looking great! With those windows it has a nice hint of Prairie/FLW.
P.S. I've rebuilt Performance Park twice on its original sized lot, first as a Victorian Pavilion like I had done previously and then as a saloon/dive bar.

TudorMan23 27th May 2015 1:02 AM

Thanks Fergus didn't realize that until now! I just really like those windows! And your western looking buildings look very authentic!

Thanks. Recently I've been working on a series of Colonial Revival homes inspired by some of the homes in the University Life town.

Last time I tested Reyes County/Point Ouerbacker, I'd noticed that and a few other famous Californian homes he'd recreated, such as the Irey House on Carroll Ave. in Los Angeles:

Since I lost everything from before I am going to redo my barn converted house again! That was one of my favorites I did!

Fergus! The grey colonial looks delicious! I feel like it's at home in a coastal region.

TudorMan23 10th Jun 2015 12:30 AM

I can't decide which colonial is my favorite Fergie and yes yes the grey shingled one looks like it should be by the seaside! as Johnny said!

I can almost see the reflection of a New England harborside cannery in the windows!

Here's the original floor plan I used for my Victorian farmhouse:

And I added a couple extras in to spice things up!

Oh I also need to remake my townhouse I did! I was so proud of that one! Ugh!

It looks very nice indeed! If it was mine I'd tone down the red flooring tiles a touch to match the roof tiles a bit more, but other than that it has a very nice feel to it.
I've recently been working on the crossbreed of a Craftsman and a Shingle Victorian.

I'm also serving up some Queen Anne realness in the form of a Tudor home that was greatly altered and rebuilt during the reign of Queen Anne to provide the charming brick façade dating from around 1706 with the only remaining Tudor element being the small rendered wing on the back.

I've tried to make the home as realistic/authentic as possible, so the bricks on the front are larger and would have been more expensive that the bircks used on the side and rear which is why quoining can be seen on the front corners of each side of the house.

TudorMan23 25th Jun 2015 11:36 PM

Yea The reds kind of dont really go together huh?

The Craftsman/ Queen Anne looks great! The green looks good with the roof.
And Your brick facade looks very authentic!

Thanks. I've also been working on another 60s diner.

However, instead of going for the previous midcentury modern style interior, I've gone for the more traditional knotty pine interior, which is difficult for me as my usual reaction to knotty pine is:

Ferg.... that Queen Anne... the ever so simple variety in the brick sets my heart aflutter. The roof cresting is wonderful.

I've been working on a SMALL Japanese "castle tower," using CFE to make the ramparts (I hope I'm using that term correctly.) I couldn't find a floorplan to save my life, so this is not true to what they'd probably be on the inside for where the walls would be.

I hope I can improve this enough to upload it for this month's #themeworld challenge.

Ferguson Avenue 4th Jul 2015 8:50 PM

Wow, tsyokawe, that's sooo cooool! I love how you've done both the interior and the exterior. Good idea for the #themeworld challenge too. I was thinking of finishing and submitting my English Queen Anne for the challenge, but it's not nearly as well finished on the inside as your entry.

Your Queen Anne is going to be a big hit. The details are scrumptious.

I'm not sure what to do with the landscape of my little castle keep. I can't really put it on a bigger lot, because of the hill where it's sitting. It could only accept a 40 by 40.
I guess I shoulda put it on flatter terrain. And if I can get the gumption to start over, I might just do that. A Japanese lot calls for a small garden. It seems sacrilegious, otherwise.

damn. cfe can be soooo annoying sometimes. surely that rampart will be easier to build the second time...

maybe I can fit a garden under that bridge to the front door...

update: I found a spot to put down a 50 by 50 lot, and placed it there. I don't know the first thing about Japanese gardens,
but I figure that I should keep garden clutter to a minimum, so it will go with the interior?
I'm also leaning more towards cedars and firs, rather than fill the place with wild bamboo.

another update: not sure if this qualifies as a garden...
I'm gonna have my sim update the appliances. I'm thinking about uploading tomorrow. I'm really pleased with how the rampart turned out, but I'm not so happy with the landscaping.

tsyokawe, it's absolutely stunning.
Meanwhile I tried to make my dream rocky mountain cabin but it ended up looking like the love-child of a Nordic Stave Church and the House of the Seven Gables...
