Objects converted from Bioshock Infinite. I especially love the public seating set which works for grand old train stations like Union Station in DC or the old Penn Station in NYC. I can see these objects being really useful for historical and modern games especially in public. I'm also digging all the vengeful angel statues for a temple or a cemetery and a new piano is always welcome in my game.

Awesome thing: Sims 2 Super Collection has finally been updated to 64-bit. I can now upgrade to the current version of macOS if I want without losing the game.
Less awesome: as far as I can see the graphics bugs I reported 2 years ago are still there, which probably means that the bug where some of the female skins are mismatched between head and body at High Sierra and above is probably still there too. Oh well. I see another round of bug reporting in my future. |

Eventually someone will come around and convert those new shiny clothes for CU. But there's SerenityFall/RentedSpace Founder's Day 2020, in case you missed it. My download folder is full of conversions by RentedSpace from GoS, actually, if case anyone needs links. I also really like these, which came out not too long ago: A Set of Age Conversions for the Little Nerds, Jocks and Rebels by Jawusa Less Formal Formalwear for Little Men by Kestin Linda Sims 2 also has some nice new things for girls/toddlers, but you'll need an adblock and the universal bypass extension cuz the site uses adfly-type downloads. |
I thought I was happy about discovering a bunch of male hair from a favorite creator of mine that used to post on MTS but what I'm really happy about is the facial hair I found from them. https://mikexx2.tumblr.com/tagged/s...ownloads/page/4 Scroll to the bottom it's the last item. Nothing will make a mustache viable IMO but this facial hair actually looks good in-game. The beards specifically and yeah at least the mustaches don't look like a bad disguise. There is actually a lot of good stuff in that Simblr account including a large collection of male hair and it all looks good in-game. No weird see-through bits or insanely stupid haircuts.

There's one mod that I've been looking forward to for a very long time and that's Greatcheesecakepersona's clean UI mod which comes out tomorrow. I'm particularly excited because because the entire UI system is all white. Now I just have to remove my black glass UI mod in case there's a conflict with the new one.

If you ever wanted to have vehicles pass by lots like they do in sims 4, look no further. Lucas's Traffic shrub generates a low amount of traffic that passes by lots, Everything from cars, buses, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, and limos will be generated every so often to pass by.
http://www.aussietopenders-sims2.com/hackedobjects.htm I just tested it in my test hood with no problems. Can be found in build mode in the garden center under shrubs. When placing the traffic shrub you will see vehicles appearing on your lot but will disappear and become regular passing traffic in live mode. So if you're building a lot with intent on using it, be sure you place it last or there will be cars and trucks and other vehicles on your lot in build mode. |
Be aware that the Traffic Shrub will generate a lot of extra driver NPCs for all those extra cars.
|
I noticed that when I saw the drivers. The shrub only made five NPCs and I tested it on five different lots for over an hour real time on each lot. Thank goodness for antiredundancy, and visitor controller if things get too out of hand.

I don't know if this is the best thread to post this in, but it did start with me finding something interesting to download.
A casual search on Google led me to these speedos for Teen, Adult and Elder males by Mrs M'Quve. It transpired these were based on these ones for teen boys (with matching bikinis for teen girls) by Figs on Garden of Shadows. Well, you might think that more speedos were about the last thing I needed, but these sets included ones for Elders that are actually based on the proper Maxis Elder bodyshape (rather than just the adult one enabled for Elders), and clothes for Elder males are still something of a rarity. Moreover they're based on a Teen texture by Cloudnine , that I really like and was one of the very first thing I downloaded from MTS when I started to play. (Unusually, I already knew about CC on MTS before I even bought the game.) So, I downloaded them all (both Mrs M'Quve's and Figs'). Except that, for some reason, the ones for Elders with Sexy Feet wouldn't download. However I play on a basic computer with low resolution graphics, so I actually prefer "blockfeet". (They're also much easier to add basic shoes and sandals.) So I installed everything else, except the teens with Sexy Feet, looked at them in CAS, and liked what I saw. So I started up Wardrobe Wrangler, enabled them all for Underwear, Swimwear and Athletic, and townified the whole lot. And then my troubles started. My game crashed halfway through loading CAS. I tried it without the new stuff and it was OK. So I did a limited 50/50 on the new stuff. And it turned out that one of the Elders speedos was making the game crash. Well I'm sure my Elders could have managed with a choice of 23 colours, but I'd rather they had 24. So I put back the original non-townified version, and it worked OK. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained: I started Wardrobe Wrangler again, townified it again, and re-enabled it for the three categories I wanted. I also noticed that some of them had the sound set to sandals, so I changed them all to barefoot. (It's something that creators sometimes miss.) I restarted the game and this time everything worked perfectly. So I guess something random must have gone wrong the first time I tried to modify that outfit in Wardrobe Wrangler. But it went right the second time I did it. So, all's well that ends well! By the way, the speedos (and bikinis) are in Pooklet colours. I thought Pooklet colours were only for hair. But it seems they can be for speedos too! |
Yeah, Pooklet colors are a swatch you can put on lots of stuff. I just saw some woods in Pooklet colors, actually. And I didn't use to like speedos at all, tbh, but then I got some by Rented Space along with some undies and some of them are my favorite pieces of cc for guys.
...You know, I kinda feel a little bad for the simmers who moved on to newer games cuz they missed out on some really good content. With conversions, my male sims now have some really good stuff--and none of that existed back in TS2's heyday. Finding good male cc was a real challenge and you had to rely heavily on your Maxis favorites. I honestly don't know how you do it, @AndrewGloria--some of my favorite Maxis content is from EPs you don't even have! Do you have any SPs? Well, I guess with cc it doesn't matter too much... |

You mean to tell me I could just build fake shops instead of painstakingly planning my hood and coming up with different types of stores for my sims?!
Criquette's Hood Deco Shop facades And cars as hood deco from quinndominion: https://quinndominion.tumblr.com/po...nd-no-jeeps-how https://quinndominion.tumblr.com/po...-at-are-a-bunch https://quinndominion.tumblr.com/po...-hood-deco-cars And a fix if you had an issue where you couldn't place the life stories dressers without move objects: https://shastakiss.tumblr.com/post/...do-yall-have-to And finally, the thing that set off one of my most recent downloading sprees, an invisible door: http://modthesims.info/d/169396/inv...ll-request.html I'm working on some warehouses for Downtown; one of them is supposed to be the local mob's hangout and I was racking my brain trying to come up with a way to make a secret space where some criminals could go hideout from the law--I didn't see the secret bookcase fitting in an abandoned factory. So I'm very happy I found this! |

Same until fairly recently. It was playing in Belladonna Cove that got me to start using hood deco. I didn't really give it too much thought, except for trees here and there, but when I was playing the hood (I think it was last year) I got to this point in my story where I wanted to move everyone into new homes. So I did that, going on a downloading and building and renovating spree. Then when I arranged the new houses, I got more inspired to use some hood deco, taking cues from what was already there. Belladonna is one of the few premade hoods that actually makes use of some hood deco and gives you ideas on how to use it to fill up the hood--or at least, it's the only premade hood that I can recall doing that. I know Downtown has a few things here and there, but it doesn't amount to as much scenery as Belladonna. In Belladonna, the game designers decided to use the huge useless empty space of the city blocks (insert rant here) and turn them into alleys and squares and parks. So I got inspired by that, went downloading, discovered Criquette's hood deco, and started decorating. I'll attach some pictures of what I did. I don't think I'm going to keep the hood this way; I'm leaning towards starting fresh and instead of deco, using the Lot Adjuster to place some shops down the middle since I've been playing around with making attached and stacked lots and moving lots off the grid. But yeah, using hood deco can really make the neighborhood come alive and add atmosphere, especially if you play lots with the deco and neighboring lot view on. Anyway, good call on DeeDee's stuff, PenelopeT; totally missed that. Not that my game needs more cc, at the moment, but how can I not download it? And some finds of my own: moocha-muses converted pepperoni-puffin‘s Glamper Set for those who want to try making their own food trucks Shastakiss resized some mirrors and things so that they don't bleed into the walls Military Jacket by MDP :lovestruc I love that sim guys have so many options now! Seriously, for anyone still struggling to find everyday clothing for guys, MDP, DeeDee, and RentedSpace/SerenityFall should be your first stops, especially if you love Maxis conversions. |
Phantomknight, we never need more CC, but let's be honest, we always want more CC.

Thank you so much, MOOKIEBLAYLOCK! <3
I don't want teen pregnancy in my game (maybe it's because I'm a high school teacher IRL, haha) so this is the kind of mod I would have never checked out. But there are some pieces there that are extremely interesting. One is the no-love requirement for whoohoo (also no crush requeriment, but I think a crush would make some sense even for my most promiscuous Sims) and the other one is the night school for teens (which would allow them to have full time jobs) so I'm gonna test if they work on their own. Thanks youuuu for sharing, guys! |
So does the no crush/love work for other age stages then?
|
