Fun fact: you can make a one eyed cyclops sim in body shop by moving the 2 eyes together as close as possible, then switch to full face and adjust a facial template ever so slightly to the right so it won't be noticeable, then go back to the eyes and move them as close together as possible. Keep repeating the process until you merge the 2 eyes into one big eye. Then you have your one eyed cyclops sim. |

The skydiving simulator is nice. Sims can't use it autonomously, and I think it's based off the bubble blower based on the animations that I have seen. But still pretty fun nonetheless. It's also a big object.

I know this is usually about new stuff that people have found but I just found the perfect mod IMO that I never even knew I wanted until I had it. It's not new but was released during a time I was away from the game and I didn't find it via regular search methods either. I've been looking for a lifespan mod that increased childhood but didn't increase the rest. https://modthesims.info/d/494515/le...ation-mods.html
In addition to it being the perfect length, I was looking for it works with ACR in adulthood by keeping the "try for baby" percentages intact. On top of all that it also allows for a full summer vacation for school kids. I absolutely freakin' love it! |
so I'll start off with saying that I didn't find this.myself but if it works as advertised then it is a brilliant application. so far in my testing it works although I have yet to thoroughly test it on the firstborn syndrome.

So I was reading AndrewGloria's Traditional Morality thread and I was a little surprised at the amount of simmers who didn't know about last name mods that let you choose the last name of sims when getting married or having a baby. RoxEllen1965 did post a link to Marhis' Marriage: Last Name Chooser, but I thought I'd post a psa here as well, as I wanted to highlight a few more:
Midgethetree's Baby Last Name Chooser -Now you’ll get an additional dialog per baby asking whose last name they should take! Compatible with Birth Options if it loads last. Midgethetree's Birth Options Mod - A mod that can generate one of two dialog boxes during birth: 1. If both parents live on the same lot, you get asked which one should get parental leave. 2. If the parents live in separate families and the other parent’s family is playable you get the option to give the baby/babies to the other parent’s family. And because different family types are easier to make now, you might also find these useful: Midgethetree's Step-Parents Baby Wants Satisfied - When a baby is born, their “step-parents” (spouses of their biological parents) will also get baby wants/fears fulfilled if they live with the baby, and their step-grandparents will have grandbaby wants fulfilled as well. Kestellyn's Name the Father - Have you ever thought it was weird that when your female sims cheat on their partners and get pregnant, their partner always knows that the child isn't theirs? Have you ever wanted your sims to be able to adopt their spouses' alien children? Do you get annoyed that all aliens are somehow considered related? Would you like your lesbians to be able to adopt their partners' babies by sperm doners? Or do your sims maybe have multiple spouses and you just want the biological parent to not necessarily be the "real" parent? Would you like to have two sims who are merely best friends live together and raise kids together even if the kids are not biologically related to both of them? Sure, you can change the family ties with the Sim Blender after the fact, but wouldn't you like to get to choose which sim gets the memory of having the baby and the Have a Baby want fulfilled? With this hack you can do all of those things! Kestrellyn's Found Family - Do you have sims who are raised by more than two parents, but annoyingly the game does not consider the non-biological parents to be family? Or "siblings" who were raised together but don't technically share parents, so the game doesn't mark them as family? Or just sims who are really close and ought to be able to use Family Kiss? This new interaction, which shows up as "Treat as Family" or "Remove from Family" depending on family status, will allow you to make the game treat any two sims as if they were family for the purposes of romantic and family socials, even if they're not otherwise related. Kestrellyn's Smarter Choice of Parent for Entering College Cinematic - Do your sims have absentee dads, or sperm donors, or just parents that they really hate? If so, you've probably seen someone completely inappropriate sending your teens off to college during the entering college cinematic. This hack introduces new requirements for parents for participation in the cinematic... And then a simmer in WCIF reminded me of these today: Midgethetree updated Maxis arches to have Marhis' Polygamy/Marriage Of Convenience Options and Rebecah's Renew Wedding Vows Option OR you can use Veetie's update to Midge's mod that adds convenient engagements to Maxis arches and Mortia alternative wedding arches. Either is very useful for simmers with story or challenge hoods that have arranged marriages. |

What's the point of my sim working out 24/7 if they cover up their physique at the gym with a tracksuit?! :p Also, while asking for help looking for help in a different thread, I came upon Dizzy's work-deliver3-40-20, which adds a chance for sims coming home from work to bring home groceries or a box of pizza: https://app.box.com/s/c9632f8a99c9cd77fe42 (thanks Essa for the link) |
Over at GOS the bi-monthly theme is "In the Limelight & Game Night" where items pertaining to the themes are featured.
CreeSims made a " Thespian's Mark" which will enable pixels to stand and perform either a monologue, or a soliloquy, while gaining charisma skills. Especially useful for those who have actors in their town. 1 or more can stand and do either action, making it look as though there is a play going on. |

@Amura: definitely do! As @terula8 said, it adds such a neat touch of immersion to your playthroughs. And it's also worth mentioning that the mod only lets the sim bring home groceries/pizza if they can afford it, so in theory you shouldn't worry about your sim accidentally making you bankupt.
|
I use Dizzy's work-deliver mod, but I tweaked it because my poorest sims were bringing home too much food - buying pizza when they could have eaten leftovers, or filling the fridge while they were supposed to be saving for furniture. It was a pretty easy tweak, so if anyone else finds the same, you could have a go.

Anyway, I just saw your post in the Pet Peeves thread today, and well, I saw that 2FingersWhiskey just released some deco mail slots, so I'd thought I'd let you know. And, because I was sure I'd seen the cars on the other side of the road thing, I did a little search and it turns out Mootilda had made a tutorial to fix this for your lots: How to Drive on the Other Side of the Road (Right-Hand Drive). At the bottom of the tutorial, there's a tip on fixing hood view: "If you want vehicles to travel on the opposite side of your road in neighborhood view, add the following line to your userStartup.cheat: boolProp carsOnRight false". I don't think I've ever seen a hack that switches the driver seat and the animations, though. |

Hehe, I already did... and one of my Sims already brought a pizza! It's so cool! I never really make them order pizza, but this "buy food on your way home" option makes so much sense to me! Right now I'm daydreaming it might be tweaked so students and downtown residents have more chances of takeaway while main hood residents have more chances of grocery shopping. Might be my own perception of reality but that would be just perfect PS: I would not mind them going bankrupt. I can be cruel like that |

An addition to the Slow Aging Controller that makes aliens age four times faster than human Sims!
I'm seriously debating putting it in my game, as I already have the amazing Slow Aging Controller edit that differentiates between other life states, the "zombies rot" add-on that this is based on, and the alien token it needs. I am playing aliens now, but haven't played enough days for it to matter that much, and given the extended lifespan I'm using, they'll have plenty of time to use Elixir...but I like aliens a lot, so messing with their lifespan concerns me. I probably will though, because it makes sense in so many ways -- that life on an alien world isn't as improbably easy as Maxis made it out to be and would wear them out faster without careful management, the reason for the Elixir to exist to start with, and the reason a certain Pollination Technician retired after getting stuck on SimEarth. I've recently started using mods that make aliens more, well, alien, and like them, so this looks like a good addition -- although I'm slightly concerned about the holders of fractional alien tokens like Jill Smith is in my game. It's really good to see the alien token being used for more things...maybe if I have enough mods to pick through I can figure out how to exclude aliens from getting carbon monoxide poisoning (from the generator for Lamare's utilities if it's misused), given how it looks like they use haemocyanin rather than haemoglobin (which in itself is as good a reason as any for rapid ageing on SimEarth, especially given the non-optimal food, temperature, and oxygen levels they put up with). |
I was on Tumblr, and came across this utterly fascinating post by a Sims 2 developer. Tells all about the way the game was coded, and more.
