I was looking at a MTS creation the other day (https://modthesims.info/d/638621/3t...big-hero-6.html) and I noticed a huge list of sliders I had never even heard of before! I've been using some from Nopke, but never discovered the other ones until now. I'm just in amazement at what the TS2 community has done over the years. Cannot believe all these sliders exist. The amount of customization! I'm freaking out! What an upgrade from TS1, really. TS2 was ahead of its time, but so was/is its fanbase.

Speaking of which, just sitting here loving all the stuff LazyDuchess (https://lazyduchess.tumblr.com/) has made. RPC has done wonders, and so has the Story Progression. Never knew I wanted a mod to edit the design tool cost until now, and now I feel I can't live without it! More importantly, I'm no longer having to remember to open my TS2 documents *every time* I want to play, to delete the cache files! No more FBS! Smooth camera rotation! Just... so... happy!!!

Having recently complained about how the neighbourhood water looks from lot view in the pet peeves thread, I find that LazyDuchess has fixed this in the last update to RPC!



This is how it looks now! There is even a subtle animation effect on the water. No pool tile required!

You have to go into RPCsettings to enable it, it is switched off by default.

Ooooh! Is this compatible with water mods, do you know?

You can change the characteristics of how the ghost walks as well as the color of the ghost all from the pie menu. They even pass through walls and objects.
Finally I can have playable ghosts in my game.

If you want playable ghosts, I'd recommend looking at midgethetree/Radium's ghost mods too.

Oh wow, that is the kind of thing I was thinking about when the more-PTs template came out! I actually like the default PT, but I also like the idea that PT#9 is not exactly full-time retired (I now see Buzz Grunt as a lot worse of a person than I considered him when I first "met" him, and also as having somewhat more valid reasons than just his combination of xenophobia/homophobia/racism/jealousy to dislike aliens) and PT#7 is still alive. I wonder if it would make a better story that the ancestors were alien spies, or they were abducted and cloned like Bella, with the clones retained for breeding purposes -- or returned in their stead? Also, PT#9 being still somewhat connected to the mothership explains why Bella's clone ended up in Strangetown even though Johnny is older than Alexander and Bella relatively recently abducted -- either the clone or both Bellas stowed away with him on one of his trips back. (This matters with a megahood. I do intend to make a new one with a more organized headcanon at some point. This will be useful, and has given me some ideas! Imagine both Bellas showing up at the Goth house...)

I've gotten this mod, and the required "Mirror of Discernment", which includes a "token", which is required for both mods.Tokens I've seen had to be in the possession of a Sim, from the catalog, but neither post mentions this, so maybe it just has to be in the Downloads folder???

I believe they do I alienafied them in my mod and its my understanding they were used rather than extracting the original ancestors. I think the thumbnails are just to show facial features. My mod is on my profile if you want to see the alienafied versions.

I believe I found the sims 2 equivalent of the WW mod in sims 4. Since no adult links are allowed on this site the mod is Joker's Wild. Sorry but you will have to research for this yourself, just to be on the safe side with MTS site rules, I hope.

@grammapat, I haven't tried the mod myself yet, but from reading both mod descriptions, it seems you would need to set sims as alien before they can do the Disguise interaction. And to do that, you'd have to use Sophie-David's mod. Looks like you can set a sim as an alien via an interaction on the mirror: "Sims can also be designated as aliens by menu selection, with their alien status recorded using an Alien Token." So look for the mirror, set your sim as an alien, and then they should be able to disguise themselves.

And @pianogrinder, yep, that's an old mod. We don't usually talk about/link to adult mods on MTS, so I'll just say that you should look for Chris Hatch's adult mods, as I believe an update was made to that/incorporated into the adjuster bouquet.

I've found one impressive extra item about the "Buzzing about" mod: the individual barrels are saleable, as are the 6 packs of mead.
If your pixel happens to drink a bottle, they just might lose all energy and pass out.

Oh, that is amazing for a megahood! I have a DONOTDELETEsims sub-subfolder in my Defaults subfolder already for the multi-PTs, what's a few more Sims for it? I am apparently a sucker for originals-plus genetics mods, and the use of the faeries almost made me laugh (not feeling it right now, sorry). My headcanon is that the IP is the first Greenman to become green, but the incidents that led to him becoming green are very in-character for not-quite-nice Shakesperean faeries on a bender to find funny. Using his descendants as their personal source of changelings makes sense with the actual changeling mod...

Thank you. I think this baby is immune to walking. I walk a lot as it is. In about 20 minutes I need to walk my daughter to school so hopefully that gets things moving... again.. because apparently baby got bored last night after 6 hours of contractions 8 days overdue, tomorrow I will be more pregnant than I have ever been before. Maybe. Theres a huge chance (in fact I'm now 100% sure) my due date was wrong, and my original due date (27th) was more accurate.

"How do you pronounce Live mode?"
The idea people pronounce it liv mode has confused my brain, it seems that is the confirmed pronunciation. I've personally always thought of it as "live" like "going live!" :D

I always thought live mode was said as live, as in live wire. To call it liv mode seems off and incorrect, and insane.

I must be mad then, because I always said it as the imperative- live! buy! build! Or maybe to live, to buy and to build.

I think my most recent way of pronouncing it is "let's go people! We're going live in 5, 4, 3, [inaudible] 2—"

"Liv mode" sounds strange to me... I only noticed that way of saying it after listening to some Youtube videos more recently. Ever since I started hanging out on forums, I've thought of it as "going live", and when something has stuck like superglue to the back of your mind (even when you've not actually heard it much, but mostly just thought it), the other way sounds kinda weird.

Truth be told, I don't even think of it in my own language any more (I barely remember what it is, because I hardly ever use it, even if my game still is in my language - the "liv" variant is closer languange-wise, as we don't really have anything to substitute "live" with that sounds good). Still, for me it's "live" all the way

I always pounced it like "life" in the sense of the "Game is going live in this mode" I know the Sims 4 developers pronounce it like as the verb live, but who cares? I'm not gonna start pronouncing it differently now just because of that.

I didn't know that the pronunciation of "Live Mode" was a debate until recently. I've always pronounced it "Live," personally. Sure the other pronunciation makes sense, like what do sims do? They live, they buy, they build. However, what happens when you unpause the game? The game is live! Both work and make sense, but I'm in favour of going "Live."

I was thinking a few days ago about Ophelia, who has a nature OTH. I know this meant nothing to the original game because they didn't have hobbies back then, but in my megahood she had a litte garden and a lot of her time was taken up gardening, making flower arrangements or sitting on her bench quietly admiring her garden. Then today I saw this hairstyle on the first page of Tumblr and thougt she would have loved this hairstyle.

Then I started thinking about how Ajay Loner's bio reads something along the lines of "Ajay enjoys counting the grains of sand in his back yard", and how theyre both loners and now I'm wondering if I should restart Strangetown and have them as a couple.

The game has not been translated to my language, but maybe it's the language barrier as to why I thought of live mode as "live" - I think I'd consider (a) buy to be a purchase (Best Buy) and (a) build to be a noun too (check out my computer build!). So the modes are in my head

This again isn't a new find, but I was looking for something baby related because according to my midwife "you're probably going to give birth today" (I don't believe her, but we'll see). I'm in a lot of pain right now either way.

Baby last name chooser. A lot of my sims don't get married, and sometimes I want babies to have the fathers surname. My own children have/wil have my partners surname because we're not due to get married for 10 more weeks (yes, I'm cutting it close giving birth now ) and I don't want to burden my children with my horribly clunky masculine last name.

This little mod entirely stops hula dancers from appearing when sims die with a platinum or gold aspiration bar.

When your sims change clothes, they now become dirty. You can wash and dry them. I kind of like the drying lines instead of the dryer.

Cool. I always wondered if there was a laundry mod. I wonder how sims will do their laundry with no washers or dryers?

In the download there is a medieval way and a modern day way to wash and dry them.

That's part of it, washers, dryers, lines, hampers, etc. It's a huge mod similar in size to a small stuff pack.

That laundry mod is a game changer and makes the sims game even more realistic and takes it to a whole new level. I've always wanted to build my own laundromat and my dream has come true. This mod is like a mini expansion pack. Thanks to sun and moon and plumbBob keep for making this wonderful mod. There's a few minor glitches but it just got released so any new updates will iron those kinks out.

I always found the "write in diary" action annoying because sims would just think about completely random things like plants and birds, but now instead the thought bubbles are about their recent memories. I just watched Jill Smith in Strangetown autonomously take out her diary and write about getting an A+ report card, her big brother going off to college, and her family having adopted their new puppy... it was so cute & realistic!! It's just a little tweak that doesn't affect gameplay per se, but it made me actually like this interaction now!

@Phantomknight -I've done a test on that tool already with the Power Fridge object uploaded here to see of I could fix a few annoyances I had with it and my edited version shows up in buy mode on a community lot and is listed at 150$ in appliances under fridges.

I always thought it just WRONG that to clean a house that hadn't been cleaned in (months?) all a Sim had to do was make beds (a few seconds) do dishes, and maybe clean a counter and the stove. The only floor cleaning was when a sink or toilet broke..I've lived in my house and that has never happened. And, for me, feeding a big family requires many hours of prep and clean up. Always bothered me that the bed where generations have been conceived never had the sheets changed, never mind needing to be replaced.

Fire and Frac have been working on the laundry mod for around a year, so it's HUGE.
