The Computer Gods are smiling.

@RoseCity

I learned today that there's actually a Patron Saint of Computers:

a Saint Isidore!

I'm going to sleep with it under my pillow!

RoseCity 6th Oct 2015 5:47 PM

I see a mess up now - that's what I get for trying to make things in the middle of the night when I can't sleep...

This is beginning to sound an awful lot like some kind of cult.

I really like the shape of it. It feels very early 20th century Hamptons.

Also, Tsyokawe, a couple of my recent designs seem very inspired by your style.

They started out identical, and then one got deluded visions of grandeur.

tsyokawe 6th Oct 2015 8:25 PM

I wish I was a sim so I could move into the smaller white house.
I'd get me a rocker, and park myself on that front porch.

I love the colour choices for both, and god help me, I love wrap-around porches,
but something in me yearns for the simplicity of the shape and design of the white one. :lovestruc

p.s. Why isn't there a Patron Saint of CFE?
I think I could really use one of those...

Zarathustra 6th Oct 2015 8:36 PM

There are a few saints who are said to watch over architects... Saint Thomas the Apostle and Saint Barbara both spring to mind. Maybe you can hope that between them and Saint Isidore, someone'll have your back!

p.s. -yeah, we're definitely laying the foundations of a cult.

Johnny_Bravo 6th Oct 2015 11:20 PM

I'm confused. Is the architecture group a cult now or just you both?

RoseCity 7th Oct 2015 12:39 AM

I'm willing to give St Isidore a try. So far, St Otto, patron saint of parking, has never let me down.

No no no, it's the whole group! Didn't you get the message? I believe Fergus has just about finished mixing the Kool-aid, and Tsyokawe has your ceremonial robes and plumbbob headdresses in the back.

I refuse to join any cult that doesn't say up front what the shoes are going to be like. Anyone ever notice Charles Manson's shoes? No! I rest my case.

They complement (but don't match) the robes. Trust me, do you think people in a group like this wouldn't pay attention to the details?

At this rate, we'll be renaming the group "The Cult of Architecture & Great Shoes".

tsyokawe 7th Oct 2015 4:49 PM

So how many people here googled, 'charles manson's shoes' ?

Did the folks at google notice a bump in searches for 'charles manson's shoes' ?

*skips off to google 'shoe cults* and *what sort of shoes do cultists wear *

I really like the design of the front porch. It's very elegant.

I've been working on another New Orleans style home:

Although I'm still toying about with the front windows and whether they should be round-topped or rectangular?

Johnny_Bravo 12th Oct 2015 12:14 AM

I still haven't got my pc running yet, but in a week or so I'll have a CAD programm for only 5€ instead of 367. It was for free, only had to pay for the delivery.

RoseCity 12th Oct 2015 10:30 PM

@TudorMan - like how your chateau is turning out.

@Fergus - I like the round top windows better because they add a delicate looking detail to the façade.

With the amount of computer troubles mentioned in this thread, anyone would think that it was cursed or something...

In another one of my recent creations I've merged two colonial era Australian homesteads; one of which is located in Tinana, QLD, and is still for sale.

I'm still not entirely happy with the external wall coverings or the amount of external doors leading out on to the veranda, but I think it's looking good so far.
