By lighter I mean not the darkest possible for humans.

If anyone is interested on photoshop tutorial for recolor: https://blogs.adobe.com/creativedia...justment-layer/

Eye color is all about mutations on genes, right, for humans. (Sims is different, of course.) So if the green mutation only happened once or twice and fairly recently, or in a very isolated population, it hasn't had much time to spread. If blue eyes happened much earlier, or in a more connected population, it's had much more time to spread through the human population, even with less dominance. (I've heard they think the blue eyes/blond hair/pale skin combination may have come from Neanderthals, which would make it pretty old in the homo sapiens genome. No, I don't remember where I heard that.)
Rosawyn, my husband's family is from Africa, and some of the cousins, while being what Americans would term 'black', are very noticeably lighter than others. In the local setting, they're light skinned. Voielle, skin doesn't seem to be a straight dominant gene. It's one of those more complicated things with multiple genes going into it, so that you get a range rather than straight dominance. My kids are exactly midway between my husband and I: he's coffee and I am milk. If it were straight dominant, they'd have his skin tone. They're cafe au lait. |

Exactly as I said (twice) in my post, it really depends on how you define "lighter" and "darker." And I found it hilarious that someone actually clicked "disagree" on that. ![]() Oh, and thank you so much for the explanation about green eyes! I suppose the only way to simulate that in the game would be to somehow ensure that there were less starting sims with green eyes...which seems like a lot of work. All I really want in an improved genetics mod is to change the dark blue eyes so they're less dominant than brown; everything else is a-okay unmodded. I imagine this is probably something I could go and edit myself if I wanted to bother trying to figure out how to do it... |
@Rosawyn
It’s actually really easy to edit it if you want green eyes act like in vanilla game, just open the file in SimPE, remove uuface_eye_green and save the file. |

Okay, but...the mod in question changes several things (including alien eyes), and I literally only want one. |

There used to be an actual ebony skin tone and it was gorgeous! I had it in my game, but then that computer borked, and I couldn't find the skin again when I reinstalled. I want to say it was on this site because back then this was the only place I went. But you know we had that epic server crash and it may have been a victim of that. ![]() |
@Rosawyn
Remove everything except dark blue eyes then ![]() @smorbie1 Wasn’t it by Enayla? I don’t know the word ebony (but the dictionary will tell me in a moment ![]() |
I think that IRL green eyes are uncommon for the reason Sunbee explained, and indeed blue eyes have been prevalent in large populations for a long time and that's why they are still fairly common despite being recessive.
TS2 genetics work differently. And I love the genetics part of this game and I have modded it long ago in order to make more sense to me, that's why brown eyes are dominant, blue/grey eyes are recessive and I have a set of green eyes genetiziced so they are less dominant than brown but more than blue. @Rosawyn: Would you be interested if I shared it? It's Maxis-match and I would need to ask permission to the creator of the eyes. |
If you find the genetic stuff confusing Rosawyn and you want the original maxis eyes, or if you have default replacements, I can help you edit them to be how you want them to be.

I didn't find anything like it in the thumbnails, but the picture farther down certainly looked it. I can see why I've never downloaded it, though. 49 separate downloads. All, people, all you wonderful creators, please consider adding an "all" option when you have a big download. I know it's meant to pick and choose, but some of us always want it all. |
What exactly does that "halfwalls fix" from simNopke linked above actually fix?
|
Don't know, but haven't seen you in awhile. Glad to find you back on the threads. And I hope someone can help you with that.

I've got a set of Maxis-match default replacement eyes in my game, these ones: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=320809 I love them. :lovestruc I'm sure they're not everyone's preference (based on the low number of thanks/faves/downloads, they certainly don't seem very popular), but when my husband and I went through all the eye options in Jan of 2016 these were the ones we agreed were "the best of the best." (Well, I said, "These are the ones I like best," and he said, "Oh, they're nice; let's get those."
![]() @gummilutt, Thanks so much for the offer; I'd very much appreciate that! ![]() |
Thanks for the link. Can you remind me exactly how you want it to work, so I get it right?

There's a good amount of clothing and accessories (mostly for adult female, though some teen female and adult male stuff as well) at this site I found called Grecadeasims

And the next bunch of custom sliders! This time by lovely DigitalAngels :3

I forgot to add this to the thread-over at GOS, PenelopeT has made Exnem's Hamburger cart even better, and extracted the burgers to buy individually-she also added his pizzas, and created many new flavors for them!
I've tried them all-and they're all buyable, and they do a good number on hunger! I've already opened a hamburger and pizza place just to sell them. http://digitalperversion.net/garden...26134#msg726134 |
The tea set right below is very cool too.
![]() |
Oh..and if you scroll down more, there is also a grilled cheese buffet table..I wonder if @Duine is still looking for cheese-y-stuff..

LOVE the tea set. My sim ladies will adore the opportunity to gossip over tea.
|
I've had a grill cheese table for a long time, don't even know where from.

Exnem, gets complete credit for all of the functionality and textures of the food items - I merely edited their original files. ![]() Now, for those of you with photographers in your game, Sandy shared some really nice clutter items yesterday http://sims2.aroundthesims3.com/. |
