Not as far as I know. I tested by taking out my CuriousB defaults and reinstalling the hood deco but it still looks dirty to me. Yours looks much closer to matching the actual colour of the sidewalks. Did you get your version from here or on their website?

I downloaded the Bus Transit Ser here on MTS. Criquette has never changed it since uploading it in 2009, so if you download it now, you should get exactly the same version as I got in 2022.

BTW I love your old-fashioned trams!

I re-downloaded it and tried again, but they still look grungy compared to yours. Oh well, guess I'll just pretend the workers that tidy up the bus stops are on strike.

Criquette has addons to the bus transit set here on tumblr - there's a separated bus stop, smaller separated bus stop, and bus stop sign so you could build your own without the sidewalk and road bits.

That's very helpful, thank you! I love how they're lit up too. I had no idea they made a second set.

Haha, just noticed this, thank you! I'm actually using a pre-decorated neighbourhood by Zaxis which I absolutely love. It came with the tram system already set up and I'm trying to position the bus stops so my sims can easily access both the trams in the main part of town, and the main bus terminal and train station to head out to the subhoods. The Portlandians are very eco-conscious and none of them own cars so a good public transit system is a must!

Are you using a desert terrain? I wonder if there's some coding inside it that's picking up that colour from the terrain. If so, it could probably be edited. Mine is the original Maxis Downtown (with quite a few additions made over the 12 years I've been playing it. It is based on a concrete terrain. I've toyed with the idea of changing it to Lush, as the grass deco "terrain" doesn't show in lot view, but so far I've left it alone as I believe it's hard to change it back.

Having shown you downtown Veronaville's principle 'bus stops, I'll also show you it's 'Bus Station and Depot, hidden from the main parts of the town by the high rise offices. It's on the road that leads down to the Creek, and to a large extent it is used by office workers in those skyscrapers.

No, it came with the lush terrain which is odd because it does look like the bus stop is pulling from a desert terrain. I'm completely at a loss. It's not a dealbreaker by any means, just extremely annoying. I'll have to try out the items on the link Synergy sent me, maybe I can makes some DIY bus stops that won't make me want to pull my hair out.

My bus terminal and train station is conveniently located near the low income housing district (which includes every resident since this is my BACC hood) as well as the connecting stop for tram access to the uptown shopping area. You'll notice the Quick Stop convenience store is within easy access of the three main transportation hubs for residents to grab a quick snack before heading out for the day!

ws2003 15th Jan 2025 9:36 PM

The blue screens. THE FUCKING BLUE SCREENS. I hate them so much. So annoying. And when the game freezes too.

Also, the fact that boolprop testingcheatsenabled true is limited when you load it on a lot. All you can do is shift click sims and objects, and the full version, you can drag Sim's needs, personality bars, relationships, etc.... If you forgot to type boolprop testingcheatsenabled true before loading a lot, then you have to change relationships/motives/personality the hard way.

And lastly, TEEN/ADULT/ELDER SIMS PESTERING CHILDREN AND YOUNGER SIMS....
For babies, you can't play the game without a Teen+ chasing down a newborn that is happy and calm, itching to hold that tyke and feed it a bottle despite it not being hungry... This interaction doesn't auto cancel when your Sim is ordered to do another one. And even if you lock the way to the baby, The Teen+ will still run after it and be stuck, waving like an idiot to the player "help i want to hold this baby!". You have to thank Jesus Christ for Eaxis not making this interaction autonomous when babies are sleeping.

For toddlers, the Teens+ love to bathe them regardless of their hygiene. But however, this is a bit more rarer than teens+ running after babies. Seriously. It's like eating when you're not hungry. It's like going to work when you have a day off. It's like sending a (real) child to school during weekends (Most schools are not open on weekends) That toddler is hygienic and clean, why are you wanting to clean an already clean child? It's so stupid.

For Children, regardless whether they're awake or not, Teens+ will always grab a book and read it to the child. Like man, go away. The child never asked to be read to. Also another annoying quirk they do is that they ALWAYS love to dance with children. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.........................................

There's a hack for it, but i can't share it i think. It's to avoid MTS mods coming after me with the ban hammer or erase my reply, making it lost to time eternally. Or maybe both.

As long as it's not an obviously problematic site, or 18+ content, or anything like that, most of the time it's probably fine.

There are several variations of these mods - TwoJeffs' "No Baby Toddler Swarming", or Pescado's "nobabyharrassment". and BO's "Less Toddler Annoyance" probably could be handy too.

Twojeff's mods are still available via archives at Simfileshare, and the MATY mods are easily found in the main archive here, especially if you want to avoid the main site. Not sure if Squinge has anything like this, but if so, Insim is back up again. Some of Simnopke's mods from here also deal with smarter baby/toddler care: https://simnopke.tumblr.com/unpublished

You can put it in your userStartup file (as an always active cheat). Quite useful

There's also mods like the SimManipulator, Insimenator, Simblender, etc. which enables a lot of the TestingCheats options without using the actual cheat.

Yeah i use Insim and it counts when i said "the hard way" Because i am too lazy to click on the ground (i have the dest version), search for the cheat i need, and etc

For Simblender and SimManipulator i don't use those i just use Insim

Well thanks. I meant Pescado's no baby harassment. I just downloaded it, then used tombstone of L and D to spawn a baby and bought a fridge and tested my sims whether they are gonna harass the baby and they didn't. Thanks for telling me anyway!

You can also save the game and then press Ctrl+Shift+L. It reloads the lot to the last save point and makes all the TCE UI elements work, all while saving you the extra loading screen to visit the neighborhood just to go back to the lot. It's still a lot (re)load, but a faster one.

The essence of this game and its age tends to make things more difficult and technical for pure
complacency. ARGGGGG
I just want a damn mod to make sims have special walkstyles forever. AASUFYSD

Instead of creating things that no one uses, mod creators could take note of things that are actually useful and really add flavor to the game.

Such a mod would require lengthy testing to make it robust, to find the spots where walking style is reset to reapply it, or on the contrary, where it shouldn't be applied to let the intended walking happen. You would put it through the paces in a great variety of situations. For example, if you never go on a vacation, you might not know that walking on hot sand exists and would have to discover it. Or if you modify the person, you would need to work around compatibility with other mods that also modify person for different goals.

I think one would commit to this task only if he is personally interested in it. Maybe you can learn more modding and make it.

Sokisims 19th Jan 2025 8:03 PM

It is true that to invest so much time in a mod, you have to have a special interest in it. I'm not the right one, I have projects in real life and I've been editing my neighborhoods since 2021, xD I was really frustrated when I posted that, although I wish it existed, I understand that creating a mod like this takes time and I'm no one to demand it. xDD

Isn't that what mod makers are already doing? (Creating useful stuff that adds flavor to the game)

My pet-peeve is when people think modders/CC.makers are supposed to always cater to players.

Some modders will do requests, but quite a lot of them tend to just make stuff that's interesting to them. If they create something, it's most likely because they saw a need in their own game, or perhaps someone (else than you) requested it, and they found it interesting to work with. Some CC/mod-makers will take note of interesting ideas that pop up, but don't always expect the items/mods to show up immediately.

If the modder decides not to make a mod, it could be because the mod isn't interesting to them, they personally don't have any use for it (even if you think it could be very useful), or it's outside their current skillset (not everyone has the time or energy to sit down with a bunch of tutorials whenever someone else wants a thing), or it's technically not possible (at the very least difficult and time consuming).

TS2 modders use their spare time to make mods/CC. Making the mod takes time, testing the mod takes time, learning new skills take time (and energy).

So yeah - that's why modders (and CC-makers) don't always cater to everyone else's whims. It can be fun to help out with requests, You learn a lot of new things in the process, but at some point the requests can get a bit too much.

"Oh, but it's just a small request, it's just 50 recolors of each of these 10 hairs!" (which would take a day or two, give or take)
(someone who keeps requesting recolors or other stuff several times a week) "I can't recolor/make anything, because I tried once and failed!" (yeah - I also botched my first Bodyshop creations, and SimPE was a pain in the beginning. It takes practice)
"Can you make a mod so-and-so for me? I need it YESTERDAY!!!" (to someone who has zero mods available for download, why are you even asking?)
"Can you make mods that do X, Y and Z?" (X is currently a hardcoded no, Y needs a bunch of new animations/coding, and Z would take several days of cursing at SimPE).

Tutorials are available though, so you're more than welcome to try it out yourself. In fact, I'd go as far as to say everyone should try dipping their toes into some CC/mod-making (it's really fun!). There's no better motivation than wanting something really bad in your game (and it's also nice to not have to wait for someone to make stuff for you).

--

I learned the majority of what I know about CC-making/modding/etc. for TS2 while studying full-time, and I think I spent quite a bit of my free time on CC projects for a good while. Took me some years of gradual learning (and I'm still learning). If you have time to play the game, there's always time to do a bit of modding/CC-making. Start small and build on what you have. You don't learn everything in one day, but a few hours here and there do add up. If you have any interest in making CC/mods, that is.

It's absolutely a lot of fun (also quite frustrating, but it's part of the fun, kinda )

Sokisims 19th Jan 2025 9:28 PM

I haven't played the game for at least two years, I only enter to continue editing my neighborhoods. I am a person who can spend, without exaggeration, 15 or 20 hours a day in a row on a project that interests me, including what I am starting in real life or in my hoods. So in that sense, when I say that I don't have much time to add anything else to my interests, I don't say it lightly. Although I would like to learn some things about modding!! Personally, I consider myself more of a story creator than a modder, is what I'm good at instinctively. But I don't rule out trying it soon.

Even so, I never made a request to anyone, I did not live that experience, but I do think that it is not right to insist or pressure modders. Anyway, it is curious how in general there are different Sims "players" and some focus more on modding and technicalities and others on narration, and inevitably the interests of both can be different. There are also players who focus on both things and don't go so far to one side.

simmer22 19th Jan 2025 9:53 PM

I started my CC-making/modding journey as a story creator - I couldn't find the things I needed, and nobody else seemed to be interested in making it (or it would take way too long to request and wait for the stuff). The 15-20 hours in one day - same (Me on a day off - "hey, is it 9 am? Off with the computer and straight to bed..." XD)

Quite a bit of of what I've made was done spesifically for the stories I've done, or found its way into stories or pictures later.

Sokisims 19th Jan 2025 9:55 PM

Probably, everything I have learned about Simpe is because I want to narrate, so yes, surely what I will learn in the future about modding is also because of that xD

When you pay Influence twice to have stuff Repaired or Term Paper Written, they can't walk to it, and you have to do it yourself anyway after being inducted into the Secret Society and wearing a brand new suit. At least they put effort in cleaning & gardening now.

Here is the most beautiful coffee barista sitting in the most awful toilet.

As a modder it's rather hurtful for someone to say that the stuff currently modded is of no use to anyone.

Why on earth do you need a walkstyles mod if you don't play the game? You'd never see it.

topp 21st Jan 2025 1:37 PM

To set the story! People play this game in many different ways.

Thanks. It was actually a request from someone. I like to answer them sometimes if I think I can do it.

Yours was so far out of my skill range that people suggesting things were making me go 'wtf'. XD But, it looks like you stimulated some interest in it, so good luck!
