If it does contain multiple resources, one possibility is the one you mention where things don't behave as the other mod expects which can break things. But the other possibility that keeps getting forgotten is that the other mod WILL NOT WORK to 100%. Whatever that mod is supposed to do in that resource, is gone. The fact that using both does not cause your game to crash and burn in flames does not mean it's a problem-free conflict, just means it's not a game breaking one. The conflict is still a conflict, and it will alter what you see in your game.

Yeah, that too. I'm not entirely in my right mind today and that came out rather garbled anyways.

I love this handsome default Pollination Technician recently uploaded on MTS. And, this green guy is going to get some friends and become a set. :-)

It looks to have been abandoned a few years ago, but there's a lot of cool 3t2 conversions on this blog:

While research for the harder simming mod thread, I found Enthusiasm Overhaul and Wash Hands After Clean/Unclog Toilet.

joandsarah77 14th Sep 2017 10:16 AM

Good find, I like the one that forces them to wash hands after cleaning and plunging the toilet. I wonder if it will clash with the other one I use which makes them flush the toilet after puking, I hope not. Not that flushing removes the puke but it was so gross how they would throw up and not flush!

And I'm wondering if it will conflict with the one I use, wash hands after using the toilet. I want them to wash after both.

Still a pretty active site. You can find all kinds of stuff here.

That's what I use. I'm going to pop it in my game later and see if it works.

gummilutt 14th Sep 2017 5:54 PM

Does not conflict with Cyjon's pukeflush mod, and does not conflict with the version of wash hands after toilet that I use. I forget who made it, it's called Always flush toilets wash hands. It's unlikely that Monique's mod will conflict with mods that make Sims wash their hands after other toilet activities, because she only modifies the bhavs specifically for repairing and cleaning and there's no reason for the other creator to include those unless they edited them as well. She does add two new bhavs to the group, but with very high up instance numbers, so would only conflict if the other creator also added new bhavs and happened to choose the same instance numbers.

That was 2Jeffs I think. I've had it forever.

Justpetro 14th Sep 2017 10:40 PM

I have, since my Day One on Sims, directed Sims to wash their hands - I am so used to it by now that I don't think I need a mod for that

Great news! I'm going to add that other mod. I always HATED that my Sims would plunge & splash themselves with icky water and not wash their hands unless directed -- especially since I didn't have to remind them to wash after using the toilet. (got a mod for that)

Maxon is right. The always flush & wash hands mod is a TwoJeff's mod found on Simbology: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=15.0

I once found something on Google Books about how Sims 2 players were deviant because some of them used cheats to age babies up or kill Sims. It was odd.

EDIT: It was this book. https://books.google.ca/books?id=Qh...=gbs_navlinks_s Since the pages weren't available for viewing, here's some screenshots I had:

FranH 19th Sep 2017 10:50 PM

Great-at age 62, I'm a deviant.
And I thought I was playing a simulation game! Lord amercy, will wonders never cease?

But on the more serious side, I wonder if the same writer has ever taken a good hard look at all the shooters/bang'emups/destroyer of world games there are out there and ever questioned their morality?

Sims 2 (and its' iterations) is nothing like any Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto and the like, all of which are far more deviant and violent than our pixelated game...

But on the other hand, that paper about status as evidenced on MTS and its' threads is fascinating..I didn't know we were subjects for a discussion on social boundaries! (slinks off to improve her status. Being a Resident Polar Bear isn't enough, she thinks...)

I know why SimSample put it up, though-

From what pages I was able to skim, the author is a bit of a luddite - everything related to technology makes you deviant, apparently.

maxon 19th Sep 2017 10:57 PM

Luddite? Deviant? huff.

kamoodle5 19th Sep 2017 11:24 PM

Sometimes after a Sim has dealt with the toilet in some way, and if I have the mirror specifically for brushing teeth and washing face, I'll have them do either of those to improve their hygiene. Washing face seems to make more sense in this scenario, as with some toilets the water can splash anywhere and everywhere. That's especially true in public restrooms, and I can sympathize why Sims will sometimes despise using those.

Phantomknight 20th Sep 2017 12:54 AM

Very interesting snippet, ihate! I can't take the author too seriously though, if all the "research" on cheats can be put into only two categories, "deviant" and "idle." Not to mention, the author suggests that TS2 is "in the vein" of Second Life, even though it's a sequel to game that predates Second Life. The passage reminds me of what another simmer was saying on a different thread, when it describes the game as "all one big life with one big 'cumulative' score." I honestly don't know how anyone could play the game and think that--I guess it's just a completely different mindset, but for me, growing up and playing the TS2, I remember all the stigma the games got (and still get) from "real gamers" because they didn't consider it a game. It had no score, no end, no goals; it's a sandbox.

And yet, it's funny how no one asks authors why they torture their characters and why stories and movies aren't all sunshine and rainbows. No one asks kids torturing their siblings' barbie dolls with their action figures why they play that way, or why kids playing with dolls and their dollhouses--the real precursor to the Sims--are acting out what's essentially a complicated soap opera. And, for that matter, no one questions why storytellers don't include all the gritty details. Why do some players want to make the game "easier" and skip toddlerhood and the baby stages? It's just not relevant to their stories. They're skipping the door, so to speak, as they say in screenwriting. It's storytelling. And building stuff. Why can't outsiders realize that?
