This is a link at a sims site about Securom. Windows says it's not compatible with 10 and may be causing the lag some players experience in buy/build mode, possibly some other problems. I suggest reading the entire post to get an understanding of it. I wasn't sure if this was the place to post it, maybe it can be moved to where people might see it.
http://kayleigh-83.tumblr.com/post/...you-play-sims-2

I've also read that Securom is included in UC, does anyone know if it is? Thanks (:

Duh, I really need to read better, but was in the middle of something and saw that link, figured I'd post it before forgetting. The info for removing Securom is actually on Leefish site.
Luckily my doctor authorized an eye exam (because I procrastinate too much) so I'll probably need surgery again to fix my sight. (:

maxon 24th Oct 2016 10:37 PM

Yeah Duine - this is already known though it's useful to have the link posted again where new people might see it. There are a couple of threads about it in the Help section.

Interesting, I did not know of this! I did notice my buy mode being slow, but I had no idea it was due to a specific issue (just assume my computer was to blame for being a bit old)

More non-sims, but if you're going to build a house 'made out of shipping container', it may be worth to look at: http://www.architecturendesign.net/...ing-containers/ (You may not agree to 'the most blahblah', but you may agree to 'it's brilliant and interesting')

smorbie1 27th Oct 2016 3:25 AM

Well, darn you! Now I HAVE to have a sims house made out of a shipping container. I'm a terrible builder, but, it's basically just a long mobile home, right?

mirjampenning 27th Oct 2016 2:05 PM

I had the same feeling. Now I want to build something that looks like such a container.
Lots of examples for sims 3 and 4, but sims 2? Neeh.
Until I saw this.
Containerwalls for sims 2.
That will give us a start!
http://deeleesstuff.tumblr.com/post...g-container-lot
While on that page don't click on deessims2downloads. That will lead nowhere.
Just click on the sim file share and you got yourself some containerwalls.
And on to hunt suitable doors and windows. :P
(Not so fast Mirjam. There was a bit more: http://deeleesstuff.tumblr.com/post...g-container-lot)

Oh and ofcours I had to have that cute bench I posted myself RIGHT NOW also. It's already in the game. Nice asset for the LeBacs camping.

Edit: If you really don't want to build, visit this link http://modthesims.info/d/527645 (Containers of hope lot)
And it gives an idea of what windows to use. I think the Metro Window Set used for that lot is really suitable for this: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=257715

I think the LeBacs family will turn their tent camping into a container camping, lol.

@PenelopeT I'm probably being dense, but how do you get them to chop a tree? I've played my forester through Summer, Autumn and near the end of Winter now and only get gather branches as an option.

PenelopeT 5th Nov 2016 3:41 PM

@joandsarah77
If your sim does not have at least (3) body skill points, they will only have the option to harvest sapling and collect branches. Also, keep in mind that the more body points they have, the faster the process will go. Be sure to have one of the converters on the lot if you want to bundle more items as logs or branches for selling.

I've included four images that pretty much sum up the process...for those that have never used Sun&Moon's Giving Tree.

The sim shown in the images only has (3) skill points, so it took him about five hours or so (with some pausing on my part) to complete everything. Also, the season on the lot is currently summer.

Lastly, apologies in advance if any images go down for a bit; Photobucket has been having issues this past week or so, but since I have a paid account with them, that is what I am using.

joandsarah77 5th Nov 2016 9:42 PM

smorbie1 13th Nov 2016 2:11 PM

Forgive me if this has already been done. I've been known to be tardy to the party on occasion. I've been frothing at the mouth since the box problem began, and I'm far too stupid to understand the workaround Sunni devised. But I found a way to automate it. Even I couldn't screw it up.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=33022.msg719229#msg719229

I hope it helps someone else. As for me, I have a LOT of bookmarked box cc to download. Later!

Let me be clear. Obviously, I did not automate it. I found a way that it had been automated so that even I couldn't screw it up.

Annaminna 13th Nov 2016 5:31 PM

I don't think it is good idea to leave A LOT bookmarks for "download later". If you think that you will need them at some point and if you have enough space in hard drive it is better to download them into your PC Downloads subfolder "Sims 2". From there you can pick things what you need for game. Playing this game almost 3 years and have seen so many websites gone for good and tumblrs cleaned up and Mediafire playing jerk with sim-creators (Latest has been Umi-sims2 http://digitalperversion.net/garden...p?topic=34076.0 ) it made me grab things righ away. Thank you anyway. For some unknow reason my Google refused to install that app before but now it installed and I got workaround automated.

gummilutt 13th Nov 2016 5:41 PM

How was smorbie supposed to download them now and save for later when the problem that they couldn't download due to bandwidth being out? :P

I'm too lazy to manually convert links to mobile form, so whenever I want to download something from a box link that doesn't work I just do it with my phone and use dropbox to send it back to the computer. Link doesn't work for me, but cool that you found a solution that works for you

joandsarah77 13th Nov 2016 10:43 PM

Redirector gets rid of the whole manually having to convert links. There is one for Firefox and Chrome at least.

When downloading Sims 2 stuff, I save everything in its original compressed format. It's saved me a few times when suddenly sites disappeared or creators pull things down. And it's good to have an original copy in case compressorizing or tweaking it goes wrong.

My 2 cents worth-if you see something you like, and keep looking at it, download it. Doesn't matter for size, or content-you can sometime change those..but trust your gut instinct when it comes to 'should I have that?'. It's always a good sign-just store it and hope you can use it someday. Lots of sites have died and nobody has their stuff, not even the Graveyard-so you get to be the keeper.

Of course this does explain why I have nearly 100 gig of houses on a separate drive..and on a few DVD's..I can't pass up pretty!

Charmful 15th Nov 2016 5:54 PM

gummilutt 10th Dec 2016 2:26 AM

I have some awesome finds by the very talented gayars at Affinity Sims.

First off this very impressive creation
Functional soap
Community lot stand with buyable functional soap

It is a soap object with a custom animation that you can direct your Sims to use in order to raise hygiene. Great if you play a medieval hood as an alternative to using showers or bathtubs, you can give them a water barrel and a piece of soap What makes this extra awesome is that gayars created a stand for community lots that works just like the perfume stand, but instead sells this functional soap. Might make a nice addition to a OFB business selling hygiene articles or perfumes. The second reason this is awesome is because it's an impressive achievement coding-wise. Very few people have managed to crack making functional stands, and not even Numenor's sells a functional item. Who knows, maybe we'll be seeing more stand-buyable goodies in the future!

And for those of you who like toddler things, gayars recently uploaded a tv toy that is an alternative to the charisma toy. They sit and watch, talking to it gaining charisma. And what's really neat is that the scenes shown are animated recolors, so you change the subset recolor to change what the tv is showing I wish I'd have had it back when my future actor was a toddler, would have been so sweet to have her learn charisma by talking along with the tv :lovestruc

She also does a lot of toddler clothes that are seriously cute, and a bunch of other stuff, so if you haven't seen her stuff before I highly recommend having a look. And keeping an eye from now on, because I suspect we'll see a lot more cool things from her in the future.

Speaking of advent calendars, Leefish is doing Fishmas calendar this year too. You'll find the gifts in the members upload section. Santafish digs around the sack and fishes up a mystery gift every day, hidden behind a pretty package with a Fishmas song for cheers. Each gift comes with a thumbnail and a text file explaining what it is, and sometimes who made it. There are some real treats hidden in those gifts.

Sun&Moon have made some awesome updates to their Fetch Water set over at Plumb Bob Keep :-)

More awesomeness (The Whole Hog) from Sun&Moon over at PBK http://www.medievalsims.com/forums/...hp?f=240&t=8944. This will be perfect for farming sims.

Just read that full post @ PBK. It's like they dropped the mic and walked off stage. This is amazing!

Bulbizarre 17th Dec 2016 6:43 PM

I love that! Especially that it's not an NPC.

Agreed! I love the fact that it makes use of the fetch water crafting station (if you have any of those installed) too. Also, looking forward to seeing how the upcoming butcher station will make use of the carcass.

Funny, in real life I'm a vegetarian who is really more vegan than vegetarian, but will be overlooking that where my sims are concerned. This is just too great of a download to pass up.

This thing below. My Sim was on a date with some guy and this popped up after their date ended.

gummilutt 18th Dec 2016 3:55 PM

That's great Astha123, thanks. We've had a lot of debate on the topic of earning skills from dates and outings, and it seemed like dates might only give cleaning. The code seemed to allow any skill though, so I'm glad to see concrete proof that it does indeed give other skills too

Nice to know I helped!

I just came across this great Christmas decorations resource list at Simetria Sims! :-) It includes loads of links to TS2 content around the community, including many things that I've never come across before. The site is in Hungarian and I can't get the page to translate for me (even though every single other page on that site does!), but it doesn't really matter much as it's just a matter of clicking on links anyway! :-D I love resource lists!

Finally animals that can be used properly! S&M never use NPC's in their animals Raindrop_D.

Pool spot to get in and out! http://www.leefish.nl/mybb/showthread.php?tid=7544
From the read me: With this object, sims can dive (2 animations : canon and straight) in the pool from the floor anytime they want : no need to go all the way to the ladder or diving board to get in the pool.

Found this 4t2 converted lovely Skysims hair:

Nice, wonder what the poly count is though?

No clue. Probably too high for my pc but it won't stop me from trying it anyway. And maybe one day in the near future I will have a better pc which can handle it okay.

Can someone else do a test with the pigs when Humble arrives? I had a very strange glitch. First one of my sims froze so I reloaded and this time it shuddered with the picture jumping back and forth between the two of them.

12,155. But it's also... really weird? The mesh has a default sim body and face included. I'd be interested to know if it actually works in game - I guess it's possible the creator didn't link up the extra mesh parts, so they might not be visible ingame. Deleting them would bring the polycount down to 9488.

The holidays are a ridiculously busy time at the office and home, so I have not had a chance to test things out yet. Will test everything out later tonight and report back. If someone else tests the pigs before I do, look forward to see what the findings are. Jo, by chance, did you test the pigs in a game that does not have Humble show up? Only ask, as I play with the nohumble mod in all of my games, save for my testing game.

Bulbizarre 19th Dec 2016 7:38 PM

I'll test it in a bit. I wanted to check out some other CC I installed anyways.

Bulbizarre 19th Dec 2016 8:53 PM

Didn't run into any bugs:
