I would point out that Consort is not the only member of the family able to react to Juliette's vampirism. If he's anything like the ruthless more-Capp-than-the-Capps regent he's painted as, of course he throws Juliette out (if you're going with Juliette as the heir he may even be happy to do it, as he may have a relative he would prefer for the position and now has an opportunity to make it so). Hermia and Tybalt may or may not be down with that. Would Hermia run away with her? Would Tybalt hunt for a cure?
Despite the fight with Romeo, Juliette may still be able to take refuge with the Montys, at least some of whom might see a political advantage in having a converted Capp. After all, werewolves can operate round-the-clock, while vampires can't get out during the day - they could make a parade out of their loving kindness in taking her in and rub in a message about the cold-blooded, inhumane vampire Capps while Consort et al are sleeping. If you have Bianca and Kent together they could take her in out of kinship and mercy. Ginger, now - she's an interesting side plot that could easily grow. She's a disadvantaged, vulnerable teen with a large family. Does she run away from the situation? Is Juliette vengeful toward her? Does Gavin defend her? Do things escalate and they get drawn into the feud, a family of teen werewolf servants/muscle for the Montys? Do she and Juliette bond over Romeo's unfaithfulness? The Newsons could use a dog for protection... |
Lots of good ideas. Not quite sure what to do as of yet - I'll let the story roll out a bit and go with whatever feels best. Thank you everyone.
(Also, believe it or not, I never even considered Twilight. I don't really know much about it either, something about 700-year-old vampires that look like teenagers and an absolutely boring protagonist? And werewolves get involved at some point.) |
Juliette could be cast out to temporarily live with a caretaker. The Capps try to find the cure. Juliette could suddenly get angry and bite Ginger, but regret it and start a friendship.

Would you ship Chester Geike and Mary Land? I haven't played Widespot at ALL yet in this uberhood so I don't know about her pre-existing relationships, but Chester's got this ask sim on date want and Mary's a friend and he thinks she's really hot. Because how often do a sim's random turn-ons exactly match the first girl he sees the first time he goes to a community lot? Chester likes brown hair and glasses . . . and I bet he'd be very teachable, to channel Valentine Hart for a moment.
|
Sounds promising. It depends on how he plays - and Mary already has two problematic loves, so why not hedge her bets?
|
Chester is always an asset in any hood I play And you forget about the glittering, ihatetomandatoryregister, of the Twi- lite vampires
|
Mary took rather much offense to Val sweet talking a townie on the first night outing Junior invited Candy on, so that's one definite no . . . and I do like Chester a lot. Candy's needs were tanking too fast to get around to sorting out the Mann mess, and with ACR and romancemod reactions are always up in the air.

I have a bit of a dilemma... Playing in Four Corners/Bitville (converted from Sims Stories to TS2, and Bitville is added as a subhood to Four Corners).
Ashley (Romance/Pleasure) cheated on her husband Warring (Fortune/Romance) with both Samantha (Romance/Pleasure) and Mickey (Romance/Family). He caught her with Mickey 'cause they were being really blatant at the bowling alley and kicked Ashley to the curb with less than $3k. (He's a bit of a hypocrite, because he also had a brief affair with Sasha, but she's not really important to this story at this point.) Unfortunately, Ashley was pregnant with Warring's baby! :O In desperate need of a roof over her head (and food!) she moved in with Samantha. The thing is...Samantha is also dating Mickey. Ashley had the baby (a little girl she named Haylee), and everything seems to be going well. Warring befriended Samantha so he could gift her with a crib, change table, and a toddler toy - he got two big bonuses at work, and I was sick of him being such a deadbeat! He also watched the baby while both Samantha and Ashley were at work, even though he and Ashley are enemies (obviously Samantha did the asking). Thing is, Warring decided he likes Samantha (they have 2LB chemistry) and they shared a kiss. He also wants to ask her on a date. Everyone's ignoring poor Mickey! Even though he's playing the field, he eventually wants to settle down (LTW is golden anniversary). So I guess the main options I'm considering at this point are: 1. Mickey manages to get Samantha pregnant (this was my original thought) 2. Mickey manages to get Ashley pregnant (certainly possible now that she's no longer pregnant) 3. Warring manages to get Samantha pregnant 4. Some combo of the above? Poor confused Mickey wants to eventually get married, but I'm not liking his chances much with either Samantha or Ashley. |
Here's a little dilemma:
I attached LGU to my Widespot and have moved Sadie and the two oldest Newsons there, planning to phase out ALT. It'll probably be awhile before I see any of my dormies, as ALT has a full set already, but at some point I need to decide whether to given them their original names back or keep the randomized ones. My first impulse is to change them back, as randomized names are mostly meaningless and dull, unlike my puns, private jokes, and Drama Acres references. But there are three problems with that. First, SimPE on my gaming computer works erratically. Sometimes it decides it doesn't have the memory to complete even a simple task like opening the window I want; sometimes it works perfectly. Renaming a couple of a dozen students is just asking it to throw a hissy fit. SimPE on my old computer works perfectly, but the machines aren't networked and I'd have to put the neighborhood on a thumb drive and walk it across the hall. I'm not even sure it'll fit with both colleges attached. On the plus side, I need to figure out what the problem is anyway, and a project to spur me to dig down and get to the bottom of it may be just what I need. Second, a small number of the dormies are missing their thumbnailes. To change their names, I'd have to figure out who they are without a picture, or wait till I can deal with it in-game. Either should be doable, but it's a certain amount of work and I have gobs of work I'm already not doing. It occurs to me that even wanting to change the names is arguably a procrastination tactic. Third - a couple of the randomly generated names are awesome! Alien Maddy Moiselle, for example, is now Martha Jefferson. Obviously she's not a hybrid, but a full alien who did a little cursory research and picked a name that she assumed would fit right in, in the manner of an author naming her medieval heroine Guinevere instead of looking into what early 12th-century British parents were naming their children. I could go through and just change the non-awesome ones, but then I'd have to define "awesome" a little bit. |
@Peni Griffin do you hve Sim Manipulator? You can change both first and last name with SM so there's no need to open SImPe. You'll find it under the Misc Manipulator (pink flamingo. Should you decide to do name changes that is
|
@Rosawyn You've potentially got two couples that could keep everyone happy-ish in your options: Mickey and Ashley, and Warring and Samantha. Warring already got Samantha a crib and all that, so it sort of makes sense, I think?
@Peni Griffin You've mentioned your issue with SimPE a couple of times now. Go and fix it! It might just need to be reinstalled. As for the names, I'd do the ones who have no thumbnails from within the game (like CaliBrat said), and the others in SimPE... once you've fixed it... do eeet! |
@Peni Griffin - When I added LGU to Widespot 2, I used the Sim Blender to change the dormies' names. It uses the phone book interface so you can rename any townie, dormie, etc. in your hood that you want to, all from the comfort of your own home lot.
The Manipulator is a great tool, but with that one you'd have to teleport each dormie in, make them selectable, use the Manipulator to change their names, make them unselectable again, and then 'port them back off your lot. The Blender doesn't make you go through all that. Just pick the sim who needs a new name from the list of sims available, type in the new name and click OK. That's all you have to do (or "copy first name to last name"). No mass 'porting necessary. |
@Raindrop_D, thanks, but unfortunately Ashley has no interest in marrying again; she tried that once and it really didn't work out for her. As Mickey is ultimately looking to settle down, Ashley is clearly not the right one for him (he might not realize that, but I'm pretty sure she does). I'm more looking for interesting drama here, because isn't that the entire point of Romance sims? (I tend to avoid playing Romance sims, but like most hoods this one came pre-loaded with quite a few.)
|
Drama? Mickey gets both Samantha and Ashley pregnant. Warring gets involved with both women. Samantha and Ashley, on finding out they're pregnant, know that Mickey is the father but don't trust him with a kid -- so they drop the babies, however many they are, on Warring's door-step, telling him he's the father and to raise the kids on his own. Or something.
|
@Peni Griffin - I second CaliBrat's suggestion of the Sim Manipulator. Although the Sim Blender (and the batbox, too, I think) has renaming options, I found the manipulator the easiest of the three.
@Rosawyn - Mickey manages to get Warring pregnant? (I am so, so, sorry.) What if Mickey gets Ashley pregnant, and then Samantha gets pregnant but there's a question of who the dad is? If you use townies, there's another option for Mickey there. |

Not only do I not have the mods for that, but Warring's an elder... (There might be mods for that too, but still.) Sims always know who the father of a baby is (unless there's mods for that as well?); it's in their memories and family trees and relationship panels. I'm sure it works great in some people's play styles to ignore all that, but it doesn't in mine. But thanks for the suggestions! It's fun seeing other people's perspectives on things. |
Bianca Monty and Kent Capp spent the night together, and the next day, Bianca began having some unexplained nausea, and she knows what that means. However, considering the feud between the two families, she isn't sure whether to tell either Kent or her own family about it. Any suggestions?
|
Elope.
|
@ihatemandatoryregister, does Bianca feel Kent has a right to know? What sort of relationship do they have? I'm assuming they must be at least somewhat friendly, given the current circumstances. How would he react to the truth? Maybe Bianca decides to just follow her heart (assuming her heart knows what it wants) and let her family just deal with it.
|
I think she should tell Kent first and see what his reaction is. I would assume both families would be horrified.
|
Bianca plans to keep the baby or not? Because if she's giving it up for adoption for sure and certain, she might not tell anyone. But if she's considering keeping it, odds are good enough that if she does Kent will guess it could be his, so she might as well get his help with the whole situation. They can decide if their families are survivable together.
A lot of that depends on why precisely your Montys and Capps have a feud in the first place. In my game, the Capps are a movie dynasty. 'Cooking with Isabella' was a huge hit show before the fire (and is still popular in reruns), but while Isabella Monty was saved by the firefighters, unlike how it appears on the cooking channel, others died. The Capps blame the Montys for the massive kitchen fire that killed Cordelia and her husband. The Montys blame the Capps--they lost Hero, Claudio, and his wife. If proper safety equipment had been working . . . but the sprinklers didn't go off and somehow there was no pressure in the fire extinguishers (they aren't any of them stupid) . . . which is why Albany joined the police force in midlife, because he and Goneril suspect a third party murderer. Julien Cooke would tell him to investigate that shady fellow, Zebest Quizine, or whatever his name is . . . So while my Montys and Capps would be shocked, they wouldn't be horrified. Bianca and Kent grew up together on set, after all. (Though in my game Kent is gay, so there *would* be a round of "But why?" until Kent explained.) |
Bianca does plan to keep the baby--and I like @joandsarah77's suggestion of eloping. I think I'll do that. Wonder if they should stay in Veronaville or move to another subhood, though.
|
I would move them to a sub hood, at least for awhile. Maybe the grandchild could reconcile them down the road.
|
Reporting back on the dilemma I posted a while back, asking advice on how to handle engagement wants rolled by pleasure Sim Alicia and romance townie Henrik.
As I mentioned in random thoughts thread, I decided to send Alicia on a twikki vacation and bring along her three main date objects and see what happened. It played out quite nicely. First night they all crowded around her, fighting for attention. After that one of the guys clearly backed off, playing guitar for hours and hanging out in a different part of the lot than the rest. Ville was very keen, hanging around where Alicia was and trying to flirt all the time. But Alicia only ever autonomously interacted with Henrik, and when she did the animations were different from the ones with the other two. Doesn't get much clearer than that! So I decided it was time for Henrik to go for it. I sent the two out on a date on their own, where I had Henrik surprise-propose at the restaurant. Looking forward to seeing where things go. So far Henrik has been very much Alicia-devoted, hasn't rolled wants for anyone else. I can definitely see him be a devoted one-person romance Sim, but I could also see them have an open relationship. Will also be interesting to see if they want to get married. Alicia has not rolled any such wants, and Henrik has only rolled fears to marry, so for now I'd say chances are low. But you never know! |
So I need some ideas for my Pleasantview. I've talked about this hood in this thread before, but it was a while ago, so if you want some neighborhood backstory:
Now, I had thought to make Gabe O'Mackey be my headmaster for a simlogical private school. But now that I'm thinking about it, I don't know if actually want him to live there, so if anyone has any insight on how they run schools, that'd be helpful (like, do you use a placeholder or do you use a lot big enough for the headmaster to have a family, if you move sims in and out, etc.) Then, when I was playing Nina, I got the idea to have her be a homewrecker and get Morty Roth to break up with Stella. The symmetry is just too good to ignore, with her sister having married Mortimer. She also met the grand vampire and I decided that's her in; the allure of the undead and becoming a vampire is what will get Morty to leave his wife. Nina will become a vampire and promise Morty she'll make him one too. As for the Roth kids, I was thinking of having Stella marry Alexander, breaking her up with Jacob and probably putting him back together with Jules, who he has better chemistry with anyway, and leaving Xander as the heir of the Roths. But maybe Nina should fight to have a kid of hers inherit? Idk. Vampires are supposed to be infertile in my game, so I'd have to see. So I got all that, but I've no idea what to do with Stella, like absolutely no clue. I do see her as someone who wants out of the country but I don't know if she should remarry, go into a business by herself, or what. In another hood I had her get with Leod, but this time around I don't think she'd want any part of the farm life Morty tried to get her into. So I need ideas for her. |
So you have Pleasantview, Bluewater, and Riverblossom? Any downtown?
I could see Stella move downtown, pursuing her Journalism career, and trying to get to the point where she can run an expose on the vampires. Revenge! What's Gilbert up to? My Gilbert tends to be pretty cosmopolitan, maybe he and Stella would hit it off, at least to the point of being eachother's plus-ones for social events. Maybe he'd start by giving her business advice and progress to other things. Andrew would probably see Stella as a potential sugar-mama, would she see through him? I'd probably use a placeholder in Gabe's situation. I've played families on school lots before (in neighborhoods without EA careers), and it's okay, just lock the home section off every morning or the kids will be over there instead of studying. A placeholder is easier, though, because you can cheat their motives up and all, rather than making them a fully functional household and playing them as sims. But, consider the mechanics of how Gabe gets paid, etc, and whether or not Jules wants a part-time job, because those are effected by how you set it up. So by using a placeholder, while playing Gabe and Jules, they'd hop on the bus/car pool, come home with homework and pay. If they live in the school, Jules brings home no homework and can't have a job, Gabe brings home no pay. |
So I have Pleasantview, Bluewater, Riverblossom, downtown, and the 3 default universities.
I'd like Stella to move downtown, too; I'd like to move some of my sims there, especially vampires. Nina would definitely convince Morty to move there. I'm just not sure I want to attempt such a major renovation project at the moment (the base downtown doesn't really fit my idea of a bustling city and doesn't have enough housing). I do really like the idea of her being a reporter, though, looking for ways to expose the truth. I had planned for the Brokes to move their criminal activity to Sim City once Dustin graduated, so she could work on writing about that too. I'll have to think of ways to simulate her gathering evidence. Gilbert isn't really doing anything at the moment--mostly because that bakery is a pain in the butt to play and I was trying to get the rank up a few levels before selling it and downsizing. I swear that lot is cursed or something. Anywho, the main reason why I didn't consider pairing them together is that Denise is supposed to be an overbearing mama, with way too much involvement in her son's life. She's trying to set him up with a quiet sim who can cook, give her some grandkids, and help out at the bakery. I think Stella would be a little too headstrong to deal with that, but they haven't met yet, so who knows, maybe their chemistry is amazing. Anyway, since ACR says Stella's straight, eligible bachelors would be Leod McGreggor, Andrew Martin, Gabe--sorta (he and Patricia didn't have anything serious, or so he thought. After he and Cleo hooked up, major fights started. Patricia even moved out in a huff. But, now that I think about it, Patricia and Cleo also fought over Gilbert, who slept with each of them and that's when Patricia decided she'd had enough.); and then--geez, I think that's it. Mortimer and Morty both have plans, Daniel's dead (kitchen fire), Herb's dead (old age), Darren's in love with Cassandra, Don's locked up for a while, Checo is dead (Lisa murdered him after finding out about his affair with Kaylynn, though the town doesn't suspect foul play yet), John Burb left Jennifer for Kaylynn, Jason Greenman is becoming a plantsim and they (plantsims) live in seclusion in my game, Stephen's got his own mini challenge going on, and Malcolm just married the evil high witch. Wow. So that's everybody, 'cept for Gilbert; I've got no bin sims in this hood--a decision I'm seriously starting to regret. Maybe I'll put her on hold til I add Belladonna Cove?? Or she can stay single, I guess. I just just feel like I need more than a career for her story. As for Gabe, I wasn't so concerned about money, jobs, and grades--the Goths are building and paying for the school in full. Once the school was up and running, tuition costs would cover Gabe's salary and lot maintenance. I was thinking more of how convenient/inconvenient it would be to make him actually live there, especially if he decides he wants to remarry and have more kids. The idea was that it'd be a boarding school, at least for some kids, so he wouldn't get a lot of time for himself. Plus running a school is a little demanding--I'm not sure if I could do that and focus on his home life. Jules would get automatic admission to the school, as daughter of the headmaster. I think she'd be okay, though a lack of job for her would mean a loss of a potential scholarship. Maybe if I closed the school for summer they'd have more time for themselves? |
Oh, I wasn't thinking Stella would marry Gilbert. Just when she needed someone to go to a party with, or maybe some friends with benefits . . . not like Gilbert would want to marry anyway! Denise can do her conniving thing while Gilbert, obviously, hooks up with whatever ladies are interested in nothing too serious. Stella figures she'll get Morty back someday, if she even wants him by then, once she breaks the story on the vampires, and that nice old Tricou House is available, never mind that it's supposedly haunted, Stella knows all historic houses are haunted, nothing wrong with a bit of superstition, she'll put it on the annual Hallowe'en tour, her bit of community service . . .
Or not. It's your game after all! I might have to do that with Sella someday, though. |

True enough, and with Dina about to be experimented on, I definitely don't have enough club-hopping socialites. By schmoozing with everyone in town, she could get scoops on stories like Checo's untimely death, the rash of robberies all over the city, the growing witches coven, and yes, the vampires . If she does this, though, I'll probably have to pair her up with a roommate so I don't play a household with just one sim. Or maybe I'll let her get custody of the kids. |
Phantomknight, it may not suit you either, and I don't have a proper description of it up anywhere yet so you'd have to attach it to a throwaway hood to be sure, but I did just upload the empty Bigg City downtown neighborhood to SimsFileShare as a 600 followers gift for my simblr, so maybe you'd have less rebuilding to do with that than with the Maxis downtown? It has plenty of housing, anyhow, much of it suitable to convert to a rental. If you load it without townie suppressors in place it should add all the regular downtownies, including the Tricous dead and alive, and you could spawn their graves and send them to one of two available graveyards, and pick one of the rundown houses in the decrepit area that used to be the Good Part of Town to be their ancestral home if you wanted to, or there's room in that area to build your own. No basement and no lighting weirdness, but whatever you used would almost certainly be less glitchy.
Anyway, if you want to check it out, it's at http://simfileshare.net/download/207580/ . I'll be uploading it along with the populated version at some point, I hope before the end of the year, but I didn't want to do two separate upload threads that would be largely redundant. A few overview pictures are in the tumblr post where I shared it: http://penig.tumblr.com/post/158977...-i-got-to#notes |
I recently started a new hood with 10 sims who had to "earn their home".
I have trouble with my farming family. Since running a farm requires people, Gaïa Thibodeau, Thomas her triplet brother, Aimé Lamour and Emma Saurel moved in together. Gaïa is the head of the household since she has more experience in gardening. Thomas doesn't help much with the farm since he's working on improving the life of the inhabitants with technology (water and electricity). I'm a bit lost with Aimé (10-2-6-3-5 Romance/Popularity) and Emma (9-2-6-3-5 Popularity/Family). They're in a relationship. Emma proposed to Aimé who foolishly said "yes". Since then he always had the fear of marry Emma. To make things worst, they now have three children (1 toddler and twin babies). They have their mother surname. They're not really affectionate even if they woohoo. Emma badly wants to get married while Aimé is more a free lover who dislikes kids. Gameplay-wise, I use some of the BACC rules to start and aim for a kind of integrated hood. Townies are not allowed yet and I can't extend the farm. It counts 3 rooms. 1. Should Aimé leave like a thief in the night with no explanation? 2. Should he and Emma confront each other and break up before he leaves? 3. Should they stay together? |
What kind of Sim is Aimé, aside from romance/popularity? Is he mature? Responsible? Is he the kind of free lover that knows he is and is open about it, that genuinely thought he could do marriage with Emma or is he out of touch with himself and going with his whims?
If you perceive him as more mature and in tune with himself, I would say he and Emma should confront each other and talk it out til they reach the conclusion they are happier apart. If you perceive him as more immature and not aware of his own feelings and needs, and likely to follow whims, I'd make him leave like a thief in the night. I'd say Emma is better off with someone who wants the same things she does, that will give her what she wants, and Aimé is better off living the free loving life he actually wants and would be comfortable with. Or perhaps he has a little accident when fixing the broken dishwasher and suddenly finds that he's lost his free love attitude because it re-wired his brain to a new aspiration of your choice. |
Aimè could sneak off, but at the new place, he could have an accident and forget about his children, friends and fiance. Then the family could somehow return his memory, maybe by making an offering to you, their god.

Dilemma!
Backstory: Arielle (A cop) and Maressa (A florist with a business) adopted their daughter, Marelda. As a teen, Marelda died (Suicide) but Arielle saved her. Marelda had drunk a lot of poison, though, and died a second time. Arielle was at work and Maressa's energy was in red and she was asleep. They got a Resurrect-O-Nomitron and 14,000 Simoleons from Marelda's friend. Marelda was fine and made it to college with the friend (Emma) and her girlfriend (Jaiden), but she and the friend died. Jaiden dropped out because she wanted to be a slacker. Arielle and Maressa lost the Resurrect-O-Nomitron. Their grieving wasn't finished, but Maressa still decided to open the business daily and Arielle practiced to get to the top of her career. Ariel was prejudiced against zombies. When Maressa let a zombie buy stuff (Like always), Ariel was irritated. Then the zombie attacked the cashier. The cashier was fine, but this angered Arielle immensely. Arielle and Maressa fought over it constantly. Their marriage worsened. The fights got worse when they brought Marelda's death into it. They even attacked each other. Maressa got sick, but the fights continued. Eventually Maressa died. Arielle didn't feel much because of how much they hated each other. Arielle gave the house and Maressa's business to some orphan teen and moved to a huge house on the hills because she was rich (Top rank in job). Arielle adopted a kitten and changed her aspiration from Family to Money to forget about her past. With her new aspiration, she got a new Lifetime Wish, which is to be The Law. She's dating a townie called Ashley Louie. What should I do with her now? 1. Pursue being The Law. (She has the Elixir of Life so age isn't a problem.) 2. Start a new family. 3. Become a cat lady. 4. Start a new business. 5. Something else. |
@ Essa, I hope it's not too late for some more advice! At first, I thought the leaving like a thief in the night option was the best choice, if only for the drama. But the more I thought about it, the more I wondered about Aime. He's romance and popularity. Straight up leaving (maybe to find a better love match) might only be considering one aspect of his personality. So what else is he like? From his stats I see he's fairly shy and not a mean guy. He might be active enough to get up and change his fate, but he is a romance and popularity sim. He's got a strong desire to be loved and well liked by everyone. How would the neighborhood react if he left? Would they not care or consider it an affront to the very values and lifestyle they want to build the town with? What's the story behind your hood and what are the options for Aime if he does leave?
Maybe, feeling stuck he decides to stay and try the family thing. Having a good reputation in town might be important to him and his political aspirations might push him to try and create the picture-perfect family. So maybe he gets married only to have a mid-life crisis down the road. Maybe that turns into a town scandal or affair. Or he takes off to search the world for true love. Or he starts a whole new family with someone more compatible and pretends his old family doesn't exist. (What's his LTW anyway?) Or maybe he doesn't get married, holding out as long as he can before he finally decides, at the altar, that he can't go through with the marriage. And Emma might not take any of this well. She's fairly shy too--is she the type to stew in anger until she snaps or is she more easy-going and forgiving? Maybe she decides to leave him in the quest for family and someone to grow old with. Again, LTW might be helpful here. But maybe there's a tragic accident during a violent storm (or plague, or fire, or drought, etc.) that changes everyone's life forever. So, you know, think on things a bit. How does this story fit into the overall hood story; what new family dynamics haven't you tried or done in a while; do you even like all of these sims, etc.? @Astha123, Arielle already seems like she has enough motivation to use the law to start a crusade against zombiekind. Maybe the feelings of resentment start to extend to all supernatural and she vows to fight/stamp out them all (I'm always in favor of a good supernatural war ). But maybe it goes the opposite direction. Maybe after deaths and strained relationships, she decides to put herself first all the time, becoming more selfish. Maybe the deaths she witnessed has cause her to become paranoid about her own death, leading her to get addicted to the elixer of life and forcing her to find other ways to extend her life. Maybe she finds a way to stay young forever, becoming a vampire obsessed with power, who lives to enslave zombie-ghouls. Or maybe she just uses her wealth to start a health clinic for troubled teens. Idk. What's her personality like? Her interests? |
@Phantomknight I like the 'addicted to life elixir part'. While waiting for suggestions, I got Ashley to move in, though Arielle and Ashley aren't married. Arielle is using Ashley as an extra source of income. After getting enough money to feel more financially secure than she already is, she'll probably start trying to become The Law. Till then, she'll try to influence powerful people to start making anti-zombie laws since she is Captain Hero.
I don't see the health clinic happening because of Arielle's personality (6-5-8-3-3). EDIT: Arielle got three cowplants as gifts from some friends. She's left them outside so zombies grab the cake. |
Just popping in to say that I'm still at lost with Aimé.
While I was playing an other household, this is how he acted on community lot (pictures under spoiler). Those sims are new to me. Their story usually unfold as I play them. My hood doesn't really have a backstory. It's just another bunch of sims who decided to build a city from the ground. Let's see what will happen during their journey? I see Aimé as a mature guy who would confront Emma. I'm not sure of the output thought, but I think I should reroll his traits or/and his aspirations unless I throw a random scenario. I think I'll play the household more to see if I can get a better feel of Aimé. Wish me luck. I dread playing this farming lot. I'll keep you updated as soon as I'll add the chance to launch the game. |
@ Essa, it seems like Aimé is just afraid of commitment. Perhaps he just likes the idea of having options, though he doesn't intend to use them. It's like he doesn't mind being in a relationship, just can't stand to put labels on anything. He probably wants things to stay exactly as they are. (Romance doesn't always equal anti-baby--especially if it's not the romance sim's baby! ) But to really know for sure, I would suggest having him hang around Emma and someone he has better chemistry with, at the same time. Then you'll see how much he really likes Emma.
His fear of marriage could also just be the romance sim coding. |
God damn game seems determined that every household of mine should have babies right now My Sim Alicia Flex is pregnant with twins, courtesy of a car woohoo with her fiance Henrik. I could have sworn I set her to can't get pregnant on ACR AND turned on inteen birth control with no fail birthcontrol flavor pak so she'd be covered regardless of woohoo-type, but apparently it wasn't enough. And twins! Why ACR, why! xD
Alicia is pleasure, Henrik is romance. I don't see either of them as Sims who want children, and they only just got engaged. They aren't even living together yet. So now question is, what do I do. I see three options 1. Cancel pregnancy, give her abortion memory and that's that. 2. Let it continue, but have her miscarry. 3. Keep the pregnancy, but give the babies up for adoption. A) Give them to the orphanage, and let them be raised there. B) Private adoption to another Sim in the hood. Alicias brother Max just had an accidental pregnancy with his girlfriend Elna, and just like this couple I didn't think it was time for babies. Abortion just didn't seem right for them, so I decided on private adoption. In the original version of my hood, Elna's family was good friends with two other families, one of which I decided to cut in the last few re-makes of the hood to try and speed things up. I decided to pretend that family moved away, but their daughter Julia (who just happened to be an infertile family Sim ) one day decided to return to the town where she was born. Perfect candidate to give their child a new home. So she adopted their daughter, who just turned toddler. Now I'm thinking, Julia comes from a family that had 5 children so maybe she wants a whole heap of kids herself. And who better than the cousins of her current adopted daughter? I'm leaning towards option 2 or one of the 3's. Alicia just used the genie lamp to wish for money, and I'm hoping that'll provoke a burglary (my hood burglar almost exclusively hits houses with pregnant Sims or newborn babies in them, he's quite awful in that sense ). Henrik is chief of the police, so I'm thinking Alicia finding out she's pregnant and getting burglar'd is a great story-line to explain why he would want to move in with her (he's a downtownie at the moment). Question is, does he move in to take care of her when she miscarries, or to take care of her through the pregnancy? I also feel like Henrik would come off poorly to the community if he leaves his kids in the orphanage, so for his sake 3A might not be the best choice. Thoughts? |
Any other personality traits besides aspiration, gummilutt? Cuz, for me this type of decision really depends on the sim and the plans I had for him or her. For example, for my Kimberly Cordial (at least I think it's Kimberly. Which ever Cordial that's supposed to be evil. ), I gave her a romance secondary and her LTW is to woohoo 20 sims. I said ok, thinking she'd have plenty of affairs on her way to becoming a powerful evil witch. But she got pregnant with the first guy she slept with. She was on birth control too. I let her terminate the pregnancy, giving her a pass, but it kept happening (with the same guy no less. Let it be known that Craig Ray makes an excellent sperm donor), so I'm writing it into her story. She had the baby but gave it up for adoption, not feeling like she's in a good place to take of it, but it's riddling her with guilt.
She's been listless, unable to focus and having a hard time progressing in her magic studies or in her career. Sammantha, meanwhile, is crushing it at life, succeeding in the corporate world, job hopping to get career rewards, maxing her magic, and dating prominent sims like Rutherford and DeBateau. Seeing her sister struggle has made her realize that Kimberly probably won't be able to reach her full magical potential and that Kimberly needs strong guidance. So Samantha has taken steps to form a coven without her sister, including "encouraging" Timothy Riley, who's looking to get in the supernatural world, to go after Kimberly, with whom he has good chemistry. Sammantha wants them to marry, knowing that once Kimberly has a stable, healthy family life, the couple will seriously consider adopting Kimberly's daughter back. TL;DR: I used the orge mod to "hold" the baby for safe keeping until Kimberly's ready to raise it. If you don't care about syncing ages, this might be a good option. Or if you do care, you could always age up the babies when you take them back in and build that separation and neglect into the story. Or, since its going to be twins, you could even separate the siblings, one being kept, one being adopted. See how that family dynamic goes. If Alicia and Henrik are engaged, I don't really see a reason they shouldn't have kids unless you, as the player don't want a baby around at the moment or unless you're trying to start some drama. Like what if Alicia has an abortion/gives the babies up, letting some other couple adopt, but Henrik doesn't know? He finds out years later and is super pissed about it. Like, he doesn't particularly want kids right now, but wouldn't push them away if they turned up. So Alicia's decision made without him could wreck their marriage and his trust for her. The burglary & chief of police thing are also intriguing to me. Perhaps instead of a burglary, it's a kidnapping? Got any supernaturals or unsavory characters in need of a minion? Or a sim super desperate to have a baby? |
In my game, Dustin Broke has been fired from the criminal career, for getting caught in a bust. Now what does he do? He's married to Angela (at long last) but he's at sea trying to figure out what kind of job he should get. The criminal lifestyle was the only one he ever knew. Didn't go to college, and doesn't really have a real interest in working, so he's collecting welfare. I'm stumped as to how to resolve this one. Perhaps a job in gardening?

He can also try the slacker career, considering he doesn't really like to work. |
Dustin could return to the criminal career, or take the next job that comes up in the paper, find ways to make money at home - painting pictures, writing crime thrillers, market gardening - or hustle for money on community lots, or he could be a househusband and stay home with the kids while Angela brings home the bacon.
|
FranH, a bunch of the careers have really generic low level jobs. Do you use a job stoping hack for sims who shouldn't get promoted? Seems like the low level of culinary, slacker, or music would be good for him. No skills, he can work at a gas station, or a record store, no real possibility for promotion but he can't stay on unemployment forever. Or he could work in a playable's store, maybe he gets a job as cashier, steals some money, gets caught . . .
|
I have the pay mod by whoward that has that option, and I think I'm gonna play him like a guy who just barely escaped being caught in the system, and start him back in the culinary career. Because he's not had any formal job training, he has to start over again, in a legitimate job. He still has a LTW of becoming a Criminal Mastermind, but given how he's trying to turn his life around to show that he's truly reformed, it's best to stick to reality, sort of. Although he could indulge in his hobby, gardening, also.
It just wouldn't do if he went back to the criminal career, given that his wife is in the military and hoping to become General one day....he's so earnest about doing better than what he has done. His want is to "get a job", not a specific one-so that gives me a little license to steer him. |
Well, not everyone gets his or her dream job in RL anyway, but can still be quite happy in a different career Somebody who likes numbers may be pretty happy as an accountant even if there was a time she or he wanted to become a photographer or something. I won't hold his criminal background against him, give the pixel a chance
|
That kinda reminds me of what happened with Faith Goodie. In one hood, I experimented with aging Faith and Herbert down to teens and playing them back up to elders. Since Faith had a LTW to be a Criminal Mastermind, I tried to get her into that track. She stayed in for a little while but she pretty quickly rolled a want to quit when she got into writing books. I decided to let her quit and life pretty much took over from there. She and Herbert had two children, which she stayed home to take care of while continuing to write and garden. When the youngest turned teen, she rolled a want to go into the Oceanography career. Eventually, both she and Herbert became plantsims. She always seemed very happy in life, in spite of never reaching her LTW. I interpreted it as her having a dark side or criminal impulses that she spent her life overcoming, wanting to be a better person. Since she had daily wants that were easily filled with her hobbies and family, it would never be necessary for her to reach her LTW to die in platinum aspiration.

My town's romance sim got herself knocked up by a college student (she is about 40) what should I do with the baby? Give it to her adult daughter? The orphanage? I can't see her wanting to keep it.
|
@joandsarah77 She could give it to the orphanage. Wanting to meet the child or not depends.
Update on Arielle Alceroyzertimeemtz (Don't ask about the last name): Kitten grew up, new cat was adopted, they both bred because why not. Arielle finally started her law career. She was already friends with the Senator before. |

He did apply for the culinary job, and he landed in the "Host" position from his experiences and skills. I guess his boss wants to give him another chance, too! |
I think I'll have Arielle make a law to put all supernaturals (Exception for harmless werewolves who plan to buy a cure and harmless vampires) in prison-like institutions located in another sub-hood.

@ Phantomknight
To me, personality is not important here, because I don't think wanting children has anything to do with being nice or mean or outgoing. I also don't think being engaged has anything to do with it, since I don't think children have to be a part of every persons life just because they are in a serious relationship. Alicia got invited when her would-be-niece grew in to a toddler and she ignored the whole thing. Didn't interact with the baby or after it turned toddler, or the mother who adopted her. She is my hood's street performer. I think I listed her incorrectly as popularity, she's pleasure. She really just wants to be free to do whatever whenever she wants. She loves music, so that's why she makes her money by going around town performing. Not interested in getting a "proper" job where she has to be places specific times and do what others want her to do, she wants to play when she feels like it where she feels like it. A child would very much disrupt that freedom of going where she wants when she wants. She recently bought a vacation home, with spare beds for guests in the hallway, but no room or plans for a second bedroom. Henrik is my hood's outing-instigator. He calls most of my playables suggesting they go for an outing. He's extremely social, but in a very grown up way, wanting to stay up all night and have a good time with friends. There are never any children or teens in the groups he forms when inviting to outings, and most of his friends that he's made in the background are part of the "party all night"-crowd of my hood. I plan to have him build and run a bar when he becomes playable, because I think that's something he'd enjoy on his spare time. But sure, I can list personalities Henrik is 5 neat, 6 outgoing, 3 active, 7 playful and 4 nice. Alicia is 5 neat, 6 outgoing, 8 active, 7 plauful, and 5 nice. I don't see Alicia as the type to do it in secret. Why would she? Neither of them wants kids, and they are happy together. Not really trying to cause drama, just trying to figure out what suits these Sims best. And no, don't have any supernaturals, and while I enjoy some degree of realistic misery in my Sims lives, I don't want kidnapping-level of misery. I'm pretty sure I don't want to make her have an abortion, so I'll just keep playing the rotation and see what happens. My pregnancies last 12 days, so there's plenty of time for the game to give me more ideas, or for someone to post an interesting idea here. |
It has never been any kind of issue for me - if there is a baby, the parent(s) will raise him or her. Social Sims will perhaps have more parties at home. Besides, a nanny can be hired for a night out.
Romance Sims make quite good parents imo, though Pleasure Sims may need some help. Playful Sims love playing with their children, so they may lack other qualities, but that make for good relationships. Social Sims love meeting their new babies too . I find it rather interesting to see how different Sims handle children. |
To each their own You play one way, I play another. I don't think children are a necessary part of life, especially if you don't want them. And I certainly don't think Romance Sims can't be good parents, just don't think this particular Romance Sim is very interested, based on how he's appearing in my game.
|
Of course not everyone wants to - or should - have kids in real life, I was strictly talking about my Sims - and what I do in my game. I am also normally very curious to see what the kid will look like.
|
@gummilutt, I guess I shoulda clarified. I didn't mean personality as in points, but personality as in what kind of person they are--goals, likes, dislikes, all that jazz. But you gave me that anyway. I think adoption might be the best option here, cuz otherwise I see some serious neglect and/or resentment about to happen, from what you describe of Alicia and Henrik. But if the couple does keep the baby, they could also be very hands off--always have a nanny/butler around, or a family member, to take care of the baby (if they live in an apartment, there's a hack to let anyone watch kids) and then, as soon as the kid's old enough, ship him or her off to boarding school. Having two sightly neglectful, party animal parents would make for an interesting childhood at least.
|
I've known a few real free-spirit musicians who have had a baby, put him in a baby carrier, and carried on with things. The kids tend to turn out really competent and happy. The main thing for a baby is to be loved, after all. You'd have to do a lot of hacking to pull anything like that off (two-baby stroller?), but you could get good results. The children who grow up like that aren't generally very childish ever, and often really don't fit well with other kids, but where you've got a pair of them, that wouldn't be much of an issue, they've got a built in playmate.
|
Sunbee, that could be interesting - you are reminding me of the band we have here - they are twin brothers; their parents were in a band and they slept in guitar cases backstage

She was the teen I used for the runaway teen challenge so she ran away from home fairly young and was quite resourceful. She was recently reconciled with her mother so her mother is somewhat in her life now. Her mother moved in with them but the place was too cramped so they moved out and left her mother with the trailer home. Her mother I made into a townie during the challenge. So far the daughter has no children yet and has rolled no want to get married although she wanted to be engaged. I think she is a bit scared of marriage. I think she would see looking after her little half sister as her duty because she knows what her mother is like as a mother- lousy. |
Well, if she is going to have her daughter raise her sister, she should at least, I think, pay some maintenance
|
Actually be responsible? That would be interesting. Her mother has a small nest egg and lives off dates. I don't know if she would pay maintenance willingly. She didn't even pay for a room at the motel on her last date, preferring the hot tub, because hey it's free. I see her as more of the type to breeze in every now and again with a lavish gift and then leave. I think it will be interesting whatever way it happens, but I think I will have the daughter raise the baby.

Yeah she could pay for day care, hood doesn't have a nanny. Actually what she would like would be good schools for her sister since she is a knowledge sim who missed out on uni due to having no home.

She could sell some of her date gifts

She does-for herself! Maybe this could be a case for my local court system...

Now you're talking
|
I thought I'd report back on my dilemma. I said I'd give it time and see if the game might give me clues on what to do, and it certainly has.
As it turns out, Alicia does not tolerate pregnancy well. She didn't get much morning sickness, but her motives are dropping very quickly. I've had to make her house-bound for the time being, to keep her safe. As the free spirit she is she usually spends little to no time at home, so it's quite a change for her. Henrik has moved in to help take care of her since the pregnancy is making her so sick. Their rotation ended with Alicia half-way through second trimester. I am currently playing the household of Isabelle and Andreas. Isabelle also got pregnant by accident, and her pregnancy made her very sick. Her hunger dropped so quickly she could barely get it up by eating, and by the time I got it to half full she was about to faint, and she could never get her energy past half because by then she'd be at the point of starving and had to wake up and eat. She and Andreas decided to deliver the baby prematurely, for Isabelle's sake. And guess who walks by their lot when Isabelle is home from work, if not Alicia! Andreas is a childhood friends with Elna, and university friends with Max. He's met Alicia at parties hosted by Max, so he will have heard about her getting pregnant against all reason and he will have told Isabelle about it. I had Isabelle greet her when I noticed she was walking by, as I figured she'd sympathize with her over getting pregnant despite using contraceptives. They quickly became friends, in my mind bonding over shared experiences both with accidental pregnancy and having a rough time of it. Now a few days later Alicia has invited herself in, showing up and walking straight in to their apartment. Andreas is home alone, staying home from work to take care of the baby. I imagine she wanted to talk to him and hear his perspective on things. What it was like having a sick girlfriend, and how he feels now about the decision to deliver the baby prematurely. In my mind Alicia is considering it as well, given how rough it is for her and that she never wanted it in the first place. Next thing I know Isabelle is coming home from work and she brought a friend home with her. Julia I'd like to think Andreas texted her that Alicia was there, suggesting she bring Julia with her. His family, Elna's family and Julia's family were very interconnected, and all the children were good friends with each other growing up. He'd know all about Elna and Max deciding to give their baby to Julia, and he'd know Julia comes from a family with lots of children and I think he might suspect she'd want more eventually. So it seems to me the game is telling me what to do. Isabelle and Andreas will encourage Alicia to have the baby prematurely if it's making her ill, and they invited Julia home so the two could talk about the possibility of Julia adopting Alicia's twins as well. Situation solved |
I have a dilemma in my hood now, two Sims have had a want to interact or to fall in love with the inappropriate person. In one case a married Sim who wants to flirt with her old time university boyfriend and the other one wants to fall in love with her Greek house brother, that one of her best friends also is in love with.
So my dilemma is if I should allow them to follow their wishes and create some drama, ignore it in order to keep my perfect little world. One idea might be to let a sim learn couples counseling and then let it go wild. But.. Unsure. Both of the wishers are fortune Sims, one recently had a baby and the other one found her (in my opinion) perfect soul mate. So it might be a whim. |
I have a few questions first.
What's the history between the married woman and her former boyfriend? Why did they break up? Was one cheating or did they just grow apart? What is her current marriage like? Sometimes, married sims need a little 'attention' from their spouses or they'll roll wants to flirt with other sims. I know your sim is fortune, but all my family sims behave that way. As for the one in love with her Greek house brother, who is the guy in love with? If he's not in love with her best friend, she has a chance. She could go for it, but his feelings will decide how things turn out. (I'm not sure how the game will respond to the situation, but I don't think jealousy will be involved unless the guy is in love with her best friend) |
It was some cheating involved.. Her ex (Jesper) had/have an affair with Maya who is her current husbands sister but I do not think she found out before she got engaged to Adam, so she might have had lovetags left. She is currently also in love with mr Big and some random sim from university. I have not corrected their lovetags. Adam (her husband) is a family sim much older then her and her whole pregnancy (and before, and after) he just swarmed her with attention, he is a farmer so he was at home the whole time and gave her a lot of food and juice.
He is in love with her best friend, and she is close to Mary Poppins, perfect in almost every single way, romance/knowledge nice witch who likes pottery. And all of them have 99/99 relationship. So my sim might just want to turn friendship into love. |
The Beginning of Pleasantview Dilemma (Choice has been made)
Here is what I got.
I am doing the "Pleasantview Epic Challenge" http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=582636 but I am starting with my "The Beginning of Pleasantview" hood. http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=521653 Out of all the named sims in there family trees I have 2 females that never married according to EA. Instead of just keeping the main names going for 10 generations I will also keep all the secondary names going. IE: Crumplebottom, Newbie, Simovitch and so on by have each family have kids till they get a male to carry the name forward. Well I am not going to go with EA version and keep the 2 female unmarried so this is what coming up. 1. Send all the secondary names carriers and the 2 females to a lot and let them 2 scoop room and take the highest bolts. The 2 females are Frida Goth and Agnes Crumplebottom. At this time there is no townies in the main hood but there will be once all the named sims are born in "The Beginning of Pleasantview" hood. I will also not kill off sims like EA did but I will fulfill all there wants, if they get a want to get struck by lighting then so be it. Brian Marsh was chosen by Frida Goth and now they will carry the Marsh name foward. Terry Al Mahmoud and Agnes Crumplebottom will carry the Al Mahmoud name foward. |
how do you feel about going slightly out of sims 2 canon? At least with Agnes she did have a brief marriage to Erik Darling so maybe recreating him is a possibility?
For Frida, in sims 3 canon there's something about a unsuccessful forced marriage into the Landgraabs so maybe a spare in there can suit her. |
Quote: Originally posted by SingleClawDesigns
I already got to many families to play as it is to bring in another one. I want to keep it simple and only have the 2 extra females marry one of the secondary names carriers. I have taken off option #2 but if any one has one of the secondary names carriers in mind let me know. |
Frida Goth (Choice has been made.)

Ok here is Frida Goth with her suitors.
1st pic is of Frida. Isaac Fiorello 2 bolts and keeps on trying to flirt with her. Martin Danders 2 bolts. Terry Al Mahmoud 2 bolts. Brian Marsh 1 bolt. Robert Crumplebottom. Loren Darong. Brian Ruggbyrme. Danny Simovitch. No others have tried to flirt with Frida but for Isaac. Brian Marsh was chosen by Frida Goth and now they will carry the Marsh name foward. Terry Al Mahmoud and Agnes Crumplebottom will carry the Al Mahmoud name foward. |
Oh, I've been pondering how to properly adjudicate Lillith Pleasant, evil overlord of Bellefleur.
Back story: Lillith has had a very sad life. Jilted by her high-school sweetheart, Dirk Dreamer, she has nourished dreams of revenge on him and his family for years. With her accession to the Chief of Police position, she gave wide berth to her hatreds and falsely imprisoned Dirk's wife, Marylena-who wasn't the only victim of her revenge. Brandi Broke got caught up when Kaylynne Broke became Lillith's underling..and then was also thrown into prison on false charges-aided and abetted by Lillith. The climax to her reign of terror came when a prisoner in her care died of electrocution. A criminal investigation ensued, and a ruling will be issued shortly. Lillith's reign of power is nearly over. In a few days, she will be stripped of all of her duties, her job and her power. The prisoners who were falsely imprisoned will be released, and the prisons shut down. All personnel will be re-assigned or transferred to other jurisdictions. My question is- how do you punish the master of the cabal? Does she do life in prison, or the insane asylum? Does she ever see the light of day? Is there a chance of redemption for her? One must keep in mind this woman has been brutal to everyone she has ever hated. Constantly attacking or fighting those who have become her enemies..she has a long memory and still harbors hatreds from her youth, fueled by dreams of revenge. She has very few friends, and no lovers. All those she ever loved have turned against her. No man wants to be near her, and her family rarely speaks to her or of her-save her mother and grandparents, whose love is unconditional. Her father does not share their feelings. He will not have his name sullied by her presence in his life. Daniel Pleasant has written her out of his life forever. Her sister, Angela, is ashamed to hear her twin's name spoken. In my mind, the best punishment would be to put her in a small building occupied by her and a servo who will keep her company for the rest of her life. She will have no way to escape, no one to rescue her. The servo, being mechanical in nature, will not be allowed to harm her, only to keep her company and to keep her physically alive. Perhaps someday she will see the error of her ways, but I think that's the best course to handle this very sad woman. There is a slight chance that being found guilty of these crimes will push her over the edge to suicide. She owns a gun and a vial of poison that nobody knows about. One does not know if this change in fortunes might make her use them.. What do you think? |
Go with that, @FranH.
|
Frida Goth took it out of my hands and leaped into Brian Marsh's arms.
|
@FranH Let her escape and change her features. Let her continue her reign of terror in the shadows. (I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself...)

All right, I have a story dilemma. It will take me a while to explain, so please be patient. I call this 'The Fellowship of the Lamp'.
I was playing four houses in an apartment lot, and the four families met in the central courtyard when my attention was elsewhere. A gypsy tiptoed up, and left a magic lamp in the courtyard, by the first house. Being new to apartment regulations, I assumed it must be for someone in the first house. I picked it up and dropped it in their private yard. Then I could not find the intended recipient, so just left it there. When baby Kevin at House 4 became a toddler, he had in his memory 'Found magic lamp'. I was astonished that the gypsy should give to a baby the reward for hobby excellence. Anyway, I could see the lamp in the yard of House 1, so I reached across and dropped it into Kevin's inventory, for later use. Now, I know I should not have done it, but I was tempted, and I fell. In apartment regulations, the changes you make in one apartment have no effect on the other apartments. So I visited House 2, where little Camilla had just become a toddler. From her house I could see into the yard of House 1, where the lamp was still standing; I reached across again, and dropped the lamp into Camilla's inventory. Then I went to House 3, and again dropped a copy of the lamp into the inventory of little Nicolas. Finally back in House 1, I dropped the lamp into Juliet's inventory. So there's the set up: four toddlers, all with magic lamps in their inventories, for future use. I've thought of various possible futures: 1. They all become romance teenagers, use their lamps to get beauty, and make loads of lovers before going off to university. 2. They save their lamps till they reach university, get loads of money (should be $68,000 between the four of them) and build a sumptuous greek house. 3. They save their lamps till adulthood, get money and permaplat mood, and live in idleness. 4. They throw or give the lamps away, because they don't need any help. Which one do you think would make a more interesting story? Have you any better ideas? |
Why would do they all want the same? Isn't it more interesting if all have different wants?
4 toddlers, 4 options (all sound interesting to me), you can just mix and match. One will be the romance teen, one takes them lamp to university, one saves it till adulthood and the fourth doesn't like the lamp. Then you have 4 different stories and even can mix them when the toddlers grow up to teens/adults/elders, romance eachother, maybe give the lamp to their lover/lovers, get heartbroken and marry another one with a lamp. |
Well the choice has been made, Terry Al Mahmoud was coming home from school while Agnes Crumplebottom was walking in front of the house and Terry drops his homework and ran to her and did the squeeze option before I could see what he was going to do.
Normally they great first before any other action but not this time so the choice has been made. |
Okay, I've got one.
I use Chris Hatch's alternative pregnancy controller, which includes his pregnancy relationship adjuster. However, unless it's been fixed, there's a little glip where it can't detect custom Pollination Technicians. So when Morty Roth has his first baby bump, there's a very good chance that Stella Roth will get mad at him for 'cheating.' However, rather than put everything back to normal, I thought it might be fun to play it off. Thing is, I'm not sure what her justification for getting angry is -- she was awake when the aliens took him, so if she was upset because he was out stargazing again, wouldn't she had gotten angry before the first baby bump? Not sure. Anger isn't always the most logical of emotions. Anyone have a better idea? |

I play the situation in various ways depending on the sims involved, any stories/ideas I have in mind for them and, basically, a lot of me coming up with ideas of how they may react. I sometimes use SimBlender to change the relationship level/score to how it was before (usually 100/100) and to remove the furious-ness. I generally use this option for Knowledge sim partners, or for partners who "knew" that their partner was trying to get abducted and who knew what the result of said abduction would be (i.e. a pregnancy!). I may leave things as they are if I think that either: a) the partner didn't know that stargazing could lead to abduction and/or that abduction could lead to pregnancy, b) the partner knew that it might happen but weren't aware that the risk was so high, c) the partner didn't know that the sim in question was stargazing or d) various other specific situations which I can't recall right now :-D Did Stella "know" beforehand that stargazing could lead to abduction, which could lead to pregnancy? If she didn't but Morty did she could be angry that he wasn't honest with her about the risks of him spending so much time stargazing, perhaps? Or if she was aware that it could happen but thought it was very very unlikely she could be angry if she thinks that Morty took unnecessary risks? |
Huh, the "not being aware of the risks" would make sense and is relatively simple. I like that idea. I might use it.

Update on Arielle: She becomes The Law and thinks to herself, "The top of the heap and lifetime Platinum Aspiration at last! Boy, now that I'm here, what do I do next?
She hears the voice of the Tyrannical Plumbob Goddess. "Why, you make it illegal to NOT imprison and kill a zombie at first sight, of course! How about a killing game to go with it?" "Ah, I can't believe I forgot about that! Thank you for the reminder!" "And how about you start a little school to, I dunno, BRAINWASH kids into hating zombies?" "That's a great idea!" The Sims 2: A game for the whole family! Also used by people as a pastime to forget about reality! |

I forgot to update. As it turns out, she didn't get furious. As it turns out, there's a chance for them not to even notice. |
Update on Lillith Pleasant's status: she's been sentenced to house arrest for the rest of her natural life. The servo moved in.
The next question is if I should put her in suspended animation, using the hibernation bed from Numenor? http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=100491 The reason being is that given long enough time, her 'enemies' will die off, and she'll awake in another time where she knows nobody living. She's still young enough to get married and have children, so the thought is that she could start fresh again. Of course she's not immortal, but just plain evil. Further thought-that when she does awaken from her long hibernation, she drinks a potion of 'reversed aging' and starts all over again as a adult-right now she's middle-aged. Or perhaps a teen...to go through college as she should have done the first time. Yes, I like that idea.. |
I like that idea. Go for it.

Ooh, that sounds really cool.

Okay, not so much a story dilemma but an oddity with my rotation system.
In it, I have it set that uni-bound teens go to uni after their first week (approximately 18 days old), and the ones who aren't from uni have their second week. Since I have it set so that 1 semester = 1 day, that gives them eight days (as I don't actually count the post-graduation bit) and brings them up to age with the other sims their age (26 days). The problem is when it comes to Squinge's college at home thing. There, the timer keeps counting down in the regular way, so what is 8 days actually turns into 24! Hate to think of the age syncing with that. I'm not entirely keen on installing hacks that shorten the semester length, as I find the more populated dorms are hectic enough as it is. One thing I did think about is using Pescado's college clock to send them to their finals after 24 hours, but that requires me to actually remember to do that and, as I have AH's harder grades, it might not even be possible for them to pass. The third option I can think of is to just skip the college at home thing entirely, but I like to keep my options open. Any other suggestions? |
I am using Two-Jeff's college 'phone book' to manually count down the days, mostly because I hate control being taken away from me..I figure that if they fulfill all of their required course needs, they can progress to the next part of the semester. Why bother to extend it to make the bar go up? Makes no sense to keep them back..
Of course that requires that I remember to do it, but really all I have to remember is to advance it one day after they come home-usually after 6 pm. |
Huh, I never thought of that. Thing is, my memory is so poor that any solution that relies on me remembering to do something is flawed. I'm probably being a bit nitpicky, though.

I got one.
In a couple rounds, I'm playing the Contrary family, which got itself into quite a situation. Opal Contrary got into an ACR-fueled affair with Castor Nova (one of the premade uni students), and at a party, Edward and Rick Contrary both found out. Rick got into a fight with Castor, and as the police officer arrived to break up the party just then, I decided that he got put on probation. (By the way, anyone know of a custom memory for this? I guess I could just reuse the "Got Busted" one, although the text doesn't quite match up.) Anyways, now everyone in the Contrary household is mad at each other, but I'm drawing a blank of what will happen next. Please give me ideas. Thank you. One idea that keeps sticking with me, though, is the Jocques temporarily taking Rick in. Or perhaps he moves to his own lot with a caretaker while his parents get their issues sorted out. |
Moving Rick out would be a good idea-because he's part of the issue with his parents-he's probably fueling the distrust and adding fuel to the fire by undoubtedly taking his father's side in it-piling on his mother: "I saw what you did!".
Having the Jocques as a temporary foster family is a good idea. Because you possibly don't have that "Teen Star Computer" that enables teens to move out on their own, it's not possible for him to do so-and he'd take his share of the money from the house when he did it. But: if you have Monique's Child support hack, he will get parental upkeep every day from both parents. So he doesn't lose anything by moving out. |
Well, Edward Contrary began rolling wants to see Rick's ghost and drink Rick (from the cowplant), so I'm planning to have Rick become legally emancipated and move to Belladonna Cove anonymously. (Seeing as the Jocques are friends with the Contrarys, it's probably not the best place for him at the moment).) He's on probation - although he's allowed to go out to school and work, he has to remain on his home lot, o keep up his grades, call the social worker (the playable Sim who runs my orphanage, not the NPC one!) once a day with a progress report, and not get into more trouble. I'll give him a prisoner token to keep him from showing up on lots and the Visitor Controller to keep his parents (who aren't supposed to know where he is) from kicking over his trash can all the time.
New Dilemma: As much fun as the grilled cheese aspiration is, the wants are a little silly with the repetitiveness. with the I was thinking of giving Natasha Una a secondary aspiration. She bought a small community lot where she sells grilled cheese sandwiches and pottery, so I was thinking Fortune. But I'm debating between that and Pleasure or Knowledge. Any suggestions? |

More of a Trilemma.
I want to make a vacation subhood to be the Burning Robot Festival, so I can send sims who would go to it without sims who would not go to it popping up. I have lots of lot ideas, but one thing stumps me. None of the three vacation destinations really suits a massive music/alternate lifestyle festival in the middle of the desert. But if I want it to be a vacation subhood, I have to pick one. They all have their points and their downsides. Far East - the Wise Old Man and the Ninja would fit right in, but all that bowing? And kimonos? Island - Hanging loose makes sense, and so does the Witch Doctor, and to a certain extent so do the outfits. But - no ocean! Whatever shall I do without an ocean? They can't go on ocean tours without one, or explore a pirate ship. Mountain - Chest beating, sure. Bigfoot, maybe. Slapdance? Absolutely. The outfits? No way. And where's the logs for the logrolling coming from? All input gratefully accepted. |
Weighing it out, I'd go with Far East. As for the kimonos, could you use the visitor controller to ban vacation locals?
