You remember that new mesh that makes a bed out of some couches? Here's one that makes the satinistics sofa into a bed:

Better Babies Bundle

I think I finally found a Better Babies Bundle - a cocktail of mods that make parent sims take care of their babies properly and AUTONOMOUSLY! What a relief it's been to play now! Sharing in case anyone else hates their babies dropped on the floor and diapers unchanged...

I've tested in a family of two parents and 1 baby and in a household that has 5 adults and 5 babies, by making babies selectable and manipulating their motives to cause a need. Both work consistently. The adults know when a baby in a crib is hungry or needs a diaper change, they go to it, pick it up, feed or change baby, and put baby back in crib. I haven't had the parents put baby on the floor at all and they always get it from the crib and go right to the fridge or changing table appropriately. When I made things very chaotic with the 5 adults and 5 babies, twice a sim put a baby on the floor, probably because the crowd blocked the only empty crib. Another sim immediately picked up dropped baby and put in crib. Through all of this baby care, adults consistently dispose of bottles autonomously, so after the relative ease of feeding and changing 1 baby or the chaos of caring for 5 babies, there are no babies or bottles on the floor, all done autonomously. Hurray! EDIT: I have, since, tested this with toddlers and it works the same way. It seems they even potty train autonomously.

For my game in UC, the key ingredients seem to be Squinge's Visitor Enabled Changing Table http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=7900
and Pescado's Automated Baby Controller, which I set very weakly only to process babies and bottles (dispose) http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...pic,2385.0.html and the cheap Maxis crib and changing table.

Again, I only set this giant eye very weakly, no lobotomies for anyone. I also simply hid the eye. I put it inside the all-in-one-shower and no one seems to mind. [EDIT: AFTER some time I figured out how to change the model on mods like this, so I changed the eye to a teddy bear and used OMSPs to put it in the crib. http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...ighlight=batbox. Super cute.] I already had the sims feeding and changing babies autonomously once they were in the crib, but this makes them routinely put the baby in the crib - a good thing, since I don't think sims can read a baby's need if they are holding it.

I also play with Squinge's Move Away from Fridge http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,24233.0.html (probably not absolutely necessary, but extremely helpful with multiples and I don't want to play without it now). I have also tried these with antibabylecture and right now am trying BO's no lecture because some sims were lecturing thin air. I've also removed the squeal they make at seeing a baby naked with No Naked Emmiter. Now, I'm looking to cut back on the reaction to smelly diaper.

In the cocktail, I also tried MATY's nobabyharassment, but I feel like it cuts down on the babies getting social interaction and I like my parents to hover a little. (Not sure, but it seems that a lone Sim will go to and care for a baby that has only low social motive, but only without this mod in place). Originally, I also tried nodroptiredbaby, but it does not seem to be needed with this "cocktail," so I have removed it.

Only downside I can see to this is that both of these mods only work with the cheap Maxis crib and changing table. They may work with clones of those, but for now, I'm stuck with the space hogs. [EDIT: I'm surprised that no one corrected me on this, but, I, months later, found a tutorial by Hugelunatic http://hugelunatic.com/?p=654 that shows how to add this capability to custom nurseries. However, when I tried it, sims still ignored those extra cribs. EDIT: Since I wrote this, I've realized that the tutorial omits a step and I've now gotten this to work.] With a lot of babies, if the cribs are too far apart or too close together so that adult sims block each other, I may still get babies on the floor, so you may need to play with furniture placement to get the best results. The good thing is that, if they do put a baby on the floor, one of them will pick it up immediately, sometimes even running over to do it, which is pretty cute. It's all a welcome trade off to have sim parents autonomously acting like parents should.

Now I've tweaked P's baby controller to use new models and to use more cribs.

The Move Away from Fridge IS an absolute necessity in my game!

Gosh, I remember Simaddict99 made a bed slaved to Satinistic sofa(the bed is part of 'Low Budget Wonders' set) and since I saw Lamare's test version of sofabed, I wanted to ask someone to make 'working' sofabed of that.

It turns out that you don't have to ask anyone to make it. I'm glad you like it, anyway.

In searching for some information about the pixels, I came across this article-the official Prima guide to the game, free of charge. Now, be forewarned that the editing is weirded out because it was posted with HTML formatting, so some of it does not read well at all. It's also very long, and not paged/edited at all. Anyway, have fun!

For those playing historical games (although sadly not medieval) set in the United States, Behind the Name has a list of the most popular names in the U.S. from 1880 - 2016:

https://www.behindthename.com/top/l...ted-states/1880

The SSA website also has this, and you can search the popularity of a name over time:

That's the dream! I love all of the Prima Guides because you always find something new I've already have all of those for TS2 and TS3, but now the collection is completed! Thank you so much :3

If a filesharing website (e.g. 4shared) is trying to force you to register to download a file, check BugMeNot before registering, although you might have to try a few different username/passwords before finding one that works.

I think I got mine from somewhere at MATY years ago. Did anybody ever get the lights from the Asian Fusion set working properly?

Another one for the How did I miss this? category, Squinge's Selectable NPC, which allows you to choose which bartender, butler, gardener, maid, nanny, or repairman you want to hire.

Like, seriously, how did I miss this? I've looked through Squinge's downloads several times...

Rosebine 29th Mar 2018 5:35 PM

Oh boy! Same here, how did I missed that flabergastingGreat mod?
Thanks!!!!

Just found another for all those who love toddlers: Squinge's Fun gain when teaching toddlers. Second page reveals it's compatible with AL.

Updating CC for FT

Instructions for almost everything.

Rosebine 1st Apr 2018 12:24 AM

Oh wow! Mirrors as well? I did not know mirrors had to be updated...this probably explains why one of mine was glitchy. Good find.

Apparently updating the stereos is just deleting the TTABs.

Many of us don't like TS4, but that doesn't mean we can't use 4t2 conversions.
