I don't care for the 'clay' look either.

I prefer to think of it as Silly Putty. With all the consistency of same.

The concept art of the Sims 2

I have something interesting: the concept art of the Sims 2.

http://www.stevekody.com/portfolio/index.html

On what Stephen W. Kody specifically worked described in his resume:

http://www.stevekody.com/portfolio/...esume_11-11.pdf

Quote:
The Sims2 - PC
The Sims2 University Expansion - PC
The Sims2 Nightlife Expansion - PC
I worked as a lead object artist on the Sims2 and two follow on expansions. I was a key artist in the project from early pre-production and actively involved in the prototyping and development of many core game systems.
- Authored over 300 unique object models for the Sims2 and its expansions. These objects included many signature and featured items. Content creation responsibilities included concept art creation, low poly modeling, UV layout, texturing, rigging, animation setup and object animation.
- Worked directly with graphics engineers to help prototype and develop the Sims2 in-game lighting and VFX systems
- Worked closely with the technical art director and graphics programmers to develop content creation guidelines. Lead the effort to communicate those guidelines both internally and to external outsource contractors.

I like the original version of the University "juice" keg better than the giant pineapple that ended up in the released version of the game.

Me too! Also, I'm very pleased that we already have access to the arch in the centre of this image:

I love plant fences! Here are a couple of hedgey ones and some tiny hedges (I've been looking for ages for small hedges!).

I know this is ancient and how some people feel about TSR, but here's a 5 degree OMSP.

Someone replaced the bees, butterflies and flies in the game with cute little ghosts, ufos and fairies.

Too bad we didn't get the mechanical bull :/

Another great concept arts from the game artists. It would be very fun. I would like to see how it would look in the game. But probably the developers decided this is too crazy for our crazy game. )))

How to draw a picture: a tutorial from the developers of Sims 2.

I did not think that such a huge work is done to create paintings.

More here.

https://dreadpirate.tumblr.com/post...-tuning-mod-for

"This is a simple mod that opens up the more extreme personality interactions and animations (usually only available to sims with 0-1 and 9-10 points in a certain personality) to more sims by changing the threshold to 0-2 and 8-10, respectively."

Rosebine 15th Apr 2018 9:38 PM

This sounds way too awesome...I bet it clashes with a few mods I have though...NOPE!
HCDU says it does not conflict with a few mods I have.

FranH 16th Apr 2018 12:13 AM

I'll try this out! Thanks for the link!

Not to do with Sims at all, but it's cute enough that I wanted to share it: Tabby Cats extension for Chrome and Firefox.

I don't think I saw this yet but Blue Heaven Sims released another Merrie Minstrels set called Bitterweet Symphony and it's pretty much a full symphonic orchestra. I'm...floored at the detail and amount of work that went into it.

I've had it for awhile and I absolutely adore it. Every now again I think about paying for some of the other animals to rotate with it, but I know I would just change it back to my tabbys (which are free).
