...a bus stop costs more than a television... ok.
|
Or the bus could turn into an elitist thing in your hood "Oh you can ride the bus? You must be from a family with money!"
|
A bus stop works best on a community lot. I have one in a park, and it works well. The group got on together, and got off at the diner together..without a second bus stop.
Besides, who would have one at their house, anyway? |

Exactly, they already do but a bus stop should not be on their struggle to buy list, that should be the town council. I may have to figure a way to donate them the money. |

Does anyone know if there is still a ts3 - ts2 archive somewhere?

I like Voeille's water mods a lot, but on some neighborhood maps, the ocean ends up looking a bit too shiny for me. Psychosim made a translucent cover for neighborhood water that makes it a bit less reflective, but doesn't obscure the surface ripple effects. There's also a black cover that goes a little deeper and is good for obscuring deco groundcovers placed on the coastline. They're both a little tricky to place, but I like the end result.
The water looks dirty in Psychosim's screenshots because it's reflecting the polluted gray sky of his totalitarian dystopia neighborhood. In my game, without that sky, it looks muted but not dirty. I've attached a couple of before and after screenshots of one of my test neighborhoods to show what it can look like. http://psychosim.livejournal.com/4708.html |

Going to borrow this thread to post something of my own again. Not claiming it's awesome, but it's one way to let people know about things they might not see otherwise.
I've made an updated version of my swimming gives hygiene mod that separates hygiene gain so that oceans give less hygiene than swimming pools and lakes. So if anyone was waiting for that version to come, it's available now. It's here. Also a heads up that a BV-compatible version of music autonomy overhaul will be coming out soon. It's finished, I just need to test it to make sure I didn't make any silly mistakes when copying the code. If you have a mac and you wanted to get that mod, keep an eye on the thread because I'll be posting it soon. |
Oh, I love the TS4 toddler stuff. But I'm a teensy bit disappointed that the beds have been cloned from a crib rather than the working toddler beds. Then again maybe the bedding was too fiddly.

I was pointed to a new website the other day. Love Mrs-Mquve's edits! See here for her goodies
![]() Also there's this tumblr that puts together a sims 2 fashion magazine/photoshoots called Sims 2 Bold Mag, they credit all the cc if you see something you like. It's a neat idea and a fun to browse Found another site just tonight I never knew of before, a creator called Marko has some fab AF clothes, wallpapers, and accessories from a few years ago. |
Just a caution on the Marko site, they use Adfly links. (:

I don't care what goodies a person makes, I won't use adfly.

So the thing I found isn't really a download, it's a tip, really, but I'm not sure where to put it, so here I go!
Apparently special characters in your downloads folder make your game load slower. Using a bulk renaming utility, you can rename your downloads and get faster load times. I tried it and it cut my load time in half (from about a half hour to fifteen minutes). I found a mod that does something I've been wanting for years but could never find, because it was so hard to search for. There's a mod at the Simsasylum (requires registration) that stops that annoying popup in hoods that don't have every subhood attached. It's perfect for those who don't like having every type of subhood, or those who want to play without them completely. Download here
|
Pretty sure Pescado's No hood nag does the same thing.

For those of you who play a medieval game, (and are familiar with the Peteran religion from TSM) VampireKisses has converted the "Proclamation Board" from TSM to TS2 !
Note: it does have all the proclamations that are featured in the original board and the pixels can read all of them. |

You're quite right..I'm always going to that site, downloading something and wondering how I can put into my modern day style game. I do have a medieval hood, but I don't want to deprive the pixels in the modern one of all the fun!
|
I figured a lot of that stuff could be used on a farm and since I've planned a farm life for one of my now still university sims, I'm looking forward using it there. The girl is even in a custom farm-related major.

So...just last night I found this mod: http://cyjon.net/node/402 "Less Jealousy" by Cyjon. I had a total, "Where has this mod been all my life?" moment. Apparently it's only been around since 2011. If you ask me a mod regulating hobby wants is about as awesome as it gets, and finally, finally we have one! Thanks to SnorkackSearcher, and Fewer Hobby Wants. Even comes in different variations in case you only want to block the talk/block about or more than that.
|
That mod is definitely great and I’m wondering about using it, but I’m not sure – while I’d like to get rid of the blog wants because I’m never going to fulfil them anyway, and to reduce the amount of hobby wants in general, I’d like to keep the want to talk about hobby. Sometimes romance and pleasure sims roll annoying wants I’m not going to fulfil, so the talk about hobby want lets me increase their aspiration level a little so it won’t get too low, and I found myself even locking it (I set the amount of locks to the amount of want slots, so it isn’t wasting a lock) so it won’t reroll to something useless such as buy x or go on a date when I haven’t chosen a partner for them yet. Maybe at some point I’ll download the mod and try to modify it for my personal use, and enable the talk about hobby want.
|
I never feel that there are too many hobby related wants. Just send the Sim to a community lot or throw a party and the wants will change!
|
@voeille
How do you set the locks so you can have that many? |

I do that with Insimenator, with the aspiration adjuster you can spawn with it. It lets you add locks and want/fear slots, and return to default settings if you want. It’s very convenient, because then I can easily stick to one of my rules related to want slots – if a pre-made or CAS adult/elder (so no way to go to uni) reaches the top of their career, I add them an extra want slot, and another one when they reach platinum lifetime aspiration, so they can have six. And whenever I add a want slot, I also add a lock, so I’m always able to lock all the wants, and that actually happens quite often. Recently I read somewhere that sims can have 7 visible want slots, so now I need to decide what they need to do to deserve it ![]() |
I was looking for cc boxes and stumbled upon a blog with some fashionable female casuals. Link

@smorbie1
I did a similar thing, I was looking for a mod that lets adults retire and someone pointed out it’s an option in the career adjuster, which I never knew after using Insimenator for 10 years because I don’t use the career adjuster ![]() But no, aspiration adjuster doesn’t influence the wants themselves, only the amount of slots and locks. |
I didn't notice adult sims could retire from that, either. Boy, I'm a sim loser.

You're not a loser, you just didn't notice the option.
