Akoako o te rangi as performed by Maisey Rika
The lyrics pretty much translate to: Beneath a tree, stricken with love, I crept Weary and lost, alone I slept Rising in hidden sweetest murmurs Gentle breezes peep and smile Softer than silence o'er my brow they played Wafting love's incense to my soul Calling "Awake fond one, the heavens are glowing There is no darkness love cannot light." |

|
A Thousand Years - Christina Perri.
Can't believe such an awesome piece of lyric work was written for a Twilight movie... Fiancé and I love this, it's like it was written just for us. |
Geah, the Twilight movies tend to have pretty amazing soundtracks, and since they're such big things, many artists are willing to put their name to at least a part of the franchise. Samuel Beam of Iron & Wine, one of the last artists you would expect to have music in the movies, has done a whole other version of his song "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" especially for the music, and his contribution to the series has boosted his sales by a lot.
"Turning Page," by Sleeping At Last, another song from the Breaking Dawn soundtrack. |
I agree, the songs I have heard from the soundtracks are pretty amazing. I can't stand the Twilight franchise, but if it makes these brilliant artists more well known then keep at it! I haven't heard of Iron & Wine or Sleeping At Last, not knowingly anyway, will go off to look them up now.
Now I'm listening to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" by the Andrews Sisters. Love this music! |
"Rich Girls," by The Virgins.
