Have You Ever Dreamed of the Sims?
Have you ever had dreams related to the sims games? Maybe dreams about your characters, or nightmares about your computer exploding when trying to play the sims. I know I have dreamed about the sims before, but I can't remember my dreams about the game. Can you?
|
I frequently have dreams relating to the Sims. Often they helpfully give guidance on how to resolve some plot "bug" that's been annoying me.
|
Not really The Sims but life simulation games and related stuff. I've always wanted a game that was just like real life - not cartoony or anything.
That will never happen, of course. |
I remember dreaming about Sims 1 shortly after we got that game. I dreamt about all these fascinating houses and I was about to go into them and then was interrupted by waking. That led to a building frenzy.
|
Yes, I've had dreams involving building in the Sims. There was a really cool one recently where I could build houses and have them manifest in real life, and I had built a massive spaceship with this power of mine. On its maiden voyage, someone brought an unexpected guest onboard and I paused time so I could decorate a room for her without her having to wait for it. Then zombies came and the dream went in a different direction...
|
Yes I love my Sims, yes I am addicted to the Sims game. But if the Sims start crossing over into my world of dreams, then I know it is high time for me to take a long over due break.
|
My only two truly memorable sim dreams date to Sims1.
In the very early days, when I was learning the game and having a horrible time with my first family, trying to keep them to a realistic schedule, not hiring a maid, and all that, the housewife started refusing to do anything I directed her to do, stomped off-screen, and came back wearing a scuba mask with snorkel, wet suit, and flippers, announced that she was going on vacation, and stalked off. This was before the Vacation expansion had even been announced, by the way. And we're still waiting for sim scuba diving! Later, after I'd gotten better at the game, I dreamed that I caught my husband (who didn't and still doesn't see the appeal) secretly playing and found that he had built the most wonderful kitchen, with a doughnut machine! He'd also discovered a driveable car - which you'll recall never happened in Sims1. I was thrilled that he was so good at the game. |
I do not play just the sims only so they are in my dreams only as a dynamic of many dreams of many games.
|
I only dream about the Sims after a long playing session. After I turn off the game, it still plays in my head. Then the next time I boot it up, I wonder what happened to all the stuff I did.
|
Yes. Mostly nightmares about neighbourhood corruption. >.< And I have this one very common dream where something goes wrong with my game, and pressing the pause button doesn't pause it completely any more. That usually really freaks me out, just shows what a control freak I am when it comes to TS2!
|
I've dreamed that I'm playing the game a few times. Sometimes, if I can't sleep, I'll plan the next chapter of their lives, so I'm surprised I don't have dreams about them more often.
|
Yes, I dreamed my Sim saw some vermin outside by the bins and called the exterminator who said they will be there the next morning, however he didn't and the maid came instead. lol
|
I don't dream about sims, but I sometimes have nightmares about my computer crashing or getting viruses. Guess who wakes up all sweaty and terrified.... *shudders* At least it makes me take backups once in a while.
|
I've had a few dreams about Sims 2. In one of them, I was talking with Circe Beaker, who had grown her hair out. In another, somehow I had used the SimBlender to impregnate either Samantha or Peter Ottomas with Loki's baby. In another, someone had died and for some reason I was able to see the HUD of one of the people and saw a want being fulfilled, and it was a wish for that person to die. And in a recent dream, I saw the Grim Reaper and was wondering who died.
|
I often get confused whether I've been dreaming about Sims or real life people.
Or Sims-looking real life people. Or vice versa. But I occasionally dream about my third grade religion teacher driving a tram off tracks around the main square having a completely straight face and causing people to scream. Even though he was my favorite teacher so. |
I have dreamed of Sims 2 several times. In the craziest dream, I dreamed I was a sim, who at the same time could control everything the player can...

Both of these pretty much summed up. I often dream about moving into my Sim neighborhoods and communicating with my Sims. Or a lot of the time, I just dream about playing the game. I remember a while ago I had a dream that EA started developing for TS2 again and I was so freaking happy you don't even understand. Then I woke up. |
I often dream of the pre-and-post war lives of my sims. But that only partly counts.
|
Your Sims are at war?
|
Yes, well right now we're in a bust after the war, but they were for a while. I enjoyed making each neighborhood filled to the brim with enemies. Our depression is coming to a close though; I don't know if another war will be waged.

Have I Ever Dreamed of the Sims?
Far too much! I think I dream about the Sims every night. Rather confused muddled dreams with Sims and real people all mixed up. It probably reflects the fact that I'm spending too much of my time thinking about the Sims. I fear It's time that I took the disk out of my DVD drive and hid it at the back of a drawer for a week or two! (Even when I do take the disk out I still can't resist the temptation to come to MTS and see what everyone is posting on Sims 2 Discussion.) |
I used to have a lot of nightmares about Sims back then when I was literally addicted to the game. It was almost always about my sims being in a bad mood and losing control over everything.
But there was also a pretty funny dream I remember about playing a really old, gloomy house. Suddenly Bonehilda appeared and started to talk to my sims (It was all TS1-style) when suddenly Bella Goth (TS2-style) came up to my lot saying that she's back. I was quite confused when I woke up afterwards ' |

When I build a long time before going to bed, I sometimes dream of changing this or that on a lot. Never sims, just building things. |
A while ago I dreamed that my sister ruined my favorite family. Then later on I dreamed that in the same family one of the sims continued to be starving no matter what I did.
|
I had a baby-boom in one of my hoods. I played for hours on end to teach all of them their toddler skills. They're all children now, and all friends with one another. For some reason they keep popping up in my dreams, since I always get some sort of attachment to my Sims.
|
I had a dream just this week about Widespot. I was hiding under a table in the living room of the Beech house while a party was going on in the kitchen. I was trying to call Peni on my cell phone -- which looked exactly like one of the ingame ones in my dream -- in hopes of an idea to get out of the party before the hosts or any of the guests recognized me (and let me know exactly what they thought about what I've done with/to their lives). Apparently the long-distance charges from Widespot to Texas were high, because my account ran out of money as soon as she answered. So I crawled out from under the table and slunk my way into the party, desperately hoping that I would escape notice before I escaped out the back door.
Sandy kept giving me odd looks like she suspected something -- and my excuse of being with the catering company about fell apart when Penny offered to help me get food from the van -- but Hamilton set fire to the grill and gave me an opportunity to duck out. |
Ages ago before sims 2 pets came out I had the weirdest dream about sims 2. I was a sim in a house that was surprisingly well decorated (at that point my houses were still boxes with furniture) and sims 2 pets was installed. You could buy living foals from buy mode but they were broken in my game and came out as plumbobs. You could also have pet snakes of various sizes of course I scatted aquariums with snakes in them all over my house. However they got out and tried to murder me. Somehow I managed to catch the boa constrictor and get him back into his cage. Then the school bus turned up so I got on it to escape from my house that was suddenly on fire. Death was waiting for me on the school bus and I promptly woke up.
Another time I dreamed I was a sim talking to my mother who was a sim and started to get freaked out because I was a sim and said that the dream couldn't be a dream because I could remember waking up that morning. Then aliens came and abducted me from the kitchen and I went screaming how they were breaking the rules of the game by not abducting me while I was star gazing from the expensive telescope. |
OK, I've had a stressful day here, but Aegagropilon's dream made me laugh, so thanks for that! You should've gotten Val to defend you - he's gotten a pretty nice life in your game, as I recall! But at least Hamilton's pyromania came to your rescue.
|
I often dream that I'm playing the sims, if that makes sense. I was tweaking one of my houses last night, and when I went to bed, I dreamed about building. I tend to do it when I'm getting a bit obsessed with the sims. I have an obsessive personality, so that happens with lots of things in real life too, especially horses, if I think about horses at night, I often can't sleep because I my brain just won't let go.
|
I dreamed about sims too..
Once I had a legacy family {about 4-5 generations},and I played it veery often. Then,i dreamed about Rose Katrin and Joseph Mendler's wedding, and I was there too.It was so strange.. |
I usually start dreaming about the sims if I don't play for very long time(3 days is that long?), that one time I see my friends playing my legacy or something and then I get angry of them, then they corrupt my neighbourhood manually lmao, and break my game. I never had neighbourhood corruption in real life but it was terrifying to experience it in dreams too.
|
Oh I'm so jealous of people who dreams of their sims. I had only two simdreams.
In the first one, two characters were talking like sims, they had their need bars and all. Not very interesting. In the second one, I was stuck on a small island and panicked, because I can't swim. Leod McGreggor swam up to the island and took me on his back to the shore. |
I've not had a dream about my Sims, but I once had a dream where I seemed to be a Sim. I was at karate camp and there weren't any showers and I was panicking because my hygiene bar was in the red.
|
I dream about building in Sims all the time. Especially if I've been working on something before bed. Some of my best ideas come from dreams
|
You must have a functioning line of communication from your unconscious to yourself! It's fascinating. I have an engineer friend who does the same, he sleeps to see how to solve engineering problems.
|
All people use sleep to solve problems. You may not be aware of it, but that's one of the things that happens when you sleep.
|
That and healing. That's why you sleep so much when you're sick - it's the only time the body has to repair itself.
In order to solve problems in your sleep, however, you need to engage with them first. The old dodge of sleeping on your math book won't work unless you've made a good-faith effort to solve them while awake. |
I tend to dream whatever I've been doing. This is one reason I don't like horror, and am very choosy about movies. Sure, many movies are okay the first time . . .
So lately I dream a lot of Sarah A. Hoyt books and Sharon Lee and Steve Miller books, 'cause I'm on a re-reading binge. And I always dream a lot of sims. Sims are so peaceful. And I've just read all my sons' John Grisham books--the Theo Boone series. Which makes for some interesting mixed up together dreams, starring Kent Capp as Nat Remy, Nina Caliente as Miri Robertson and Justin Kim as Theo Boone . . . and if you know the books you know how badly those castings work, let alone cross universes to make any sort of sense. (But I still want to know who plays Val Con and Pat Rin and Lucius Keeva.) Yeah. My subconscious is wired weird. |
My dreams are mostly repetitions of whatever happened yesterday, like Sunbee's. Minus everything "virtual" like horror movies and games, for some reason anything that's not about daily interactions has almost zero chance to ever be dreamt. That's pretty boring compared to other people's accounts.
Just today my mother told me her nightmare: she was all clad in black, and then she met her co-worker, and he was all clad in black... (imagine it said slowly and in low voice, like she did) You can feel there's something exciting to this, even if the dream leaves an ominous feeling. I've never had this, even my nightmares feature realistic people and transpire in common places like my own room. Problem solving? Maybe, but never quite as straightforward as house designs or engineering solutions. I used to dream a lot about reading books and trying to find knowledge in them, and they always sprouted some absurd sentences, like "everything that is white is red". |
But have you ever quit something one day in frustration, taken it up the next day, and suddenly found everything falling together? Your brain did that in your sleep, but didn't post the solution to your conscious mind, just made if available when needed.
|
I always have at least one sim dream a night, but it is usually really short and just gives me ideas on what I can do next time I play. I forget most of them, but one that has stuck to me was making a spa/resort type place specifically for Elders to go, relax, and enjoy their final days. The name of the place is what really stuck though - Happy Endings Massage and Spa....

Most of my building ideas come from my dreams. Sometimes I dream about lots that I've built and can't help notice that they are different in my dreams. Sometimes just slightly different, so I rush to build whatever I dreamed. There have been times when I've had multiple ideas come out of dreams and I can't build the lots quick enough.
I like to build with a story in mind. So, often when I build, I try to describe the lot to myself. When making up back stories (for sims and for lots), I will have a sentence or a few words pop up in my head that I use as a guide. A lot of my dreams lately have been about where the lots are located in the hood, so I've had to pay attention to my neighborhood deco when building. A house way off in the woods has to be surrounded by a lot of trees and the house itself can't be built too close to the road. When I was recently making over Delilah's house in ALT, I dreamed that she had walked by a house that she really liked. So, of course I had to build another house for her, near her current house. It turned out better than the house I made over for her. I like my sims dreams much better than dreams about RL stuff. I think that is why I often build a lot - to keep thinking about stuff other than real life. Also why my game is not about the real world or real people at all. |
I have had several dreams about my sims. Most of them I do not remember so much about - but some have
been so real that it was so weird thinking of it the day after. One dream I will never forget was a dream where I was running away from some people. I went on a bus to get away when suddenly the busdriver stopped and was about letting the people I was running from get up and search the bus. In the last minute one of my sims turned up and helped me out the back door and helped me hide in some bushes - and I did not get caught. That sim is one of my favorite sims - needless to say |

i had this one dream about the sims 2 where i spent hours and hours downloading lots of custom content, doing hundreds of recolours and editing and creating. makeing lots of houses and community lots, i hade spent so long doing it, i fell asleep, and when i woke up, my sister had my laptop, and as i went to get it, she spilled her juice on it, and it fried, and im pretty sure i killed her. then i woke up screaming and i grabbed my laptop to make sure all my stuff was still on it ( cuz i really had spent hours getting stuff). it scared me.... |
I had a sims-related nightmare last night. I was playing sims and I loaded it and some child girls were in boys clothing, not the clothes I had left them in and I wondered if it was a sign of corruption. I clicked on the batbox (My most recent custom download) and there were only two options and I then I realized my Neighborhood WAS corrupted because even the batbox didn't work! So I had a back-up and before I did that I would just click the option on the batbox. Well the option caused my sim kid's face to get weird and then they climbed out the apartment window and fell to their death. The the game screen got all wavy and made a buzzing sound and I corrupted my whole game.

Oh, I have a history of dreaming about games. One time a long, long time ago (relative to my age, of course), I had a dream where I found a secret way to enter Peach's castle in Mario Kart 64, and somehow it went from being some cool in-game mystery to actually being inside the castle with my grandmother like it was at fricking Disney World or something. Weird... Then I actually tried to do it in game, obviously it didn't work. Then I tried, in Super Mario 64, to find the track that is outside of Peach's castle in Mario Kart.
Back in fifth grade (or was it sixth) had a nightmare about another life simulation game called "Animal Crossing", which for me was kind of like The Sims before I started playing The Sims. I accidentally removed the memory card while it was saving on the Gamecube verison, and when I went back in, there was lots of sorrow, and everyone was saying their farewells, and I couldn't save after that; the character in what would usually be the save screen said it couldn't save because it was "strictly against the guidelines." Since then, I've had nightmares of losing save data on games (including one where the computer crashed and I lost everything), including The Sims, and it's a nightmare that has come true a couple of times. Seriously though, how the Bell System do I remember fricking dreams from like ten and fifteen years ago, yet I rarely remember dreams from the previous night? |
Just last night. Wellfff. Stupid dream... After my Sims were digging and digging foreverrrr, I found out that this was a new way to make neighborhoods. You had to dig yourself a flat area over and over to get a playable lot in your 'hood. (My dreams are a lot of work.)
Makes me wonder what is wrong with the 'hood I'm playing when awake! I am not homesteading, after all. *sigh* |
Lately I've been having dreams of an alphabetacy and something called the "Teritiary Mayor To The President" .. ending a story with the Z character (Zane was his name I think) having to write an essay about the family history as a summation of the story.
I really like that idea. I wish I was a gifted enough writer to get it written. |
You don't have to be gifted, Sanypsia. You just have to put your butt in the chair and write it. Discipline and no talent writes more and better words than talent and no discipline.
|
I had a dream a few nights ago where the Grim Reaper was the defendent in a court presided by Bianca Monty. Most of the adults and elders were in the courtroom as witnesses (and a few were staff as well). I can't remember what the Grim Reaper's official charges were, because every time the judge's assistant (a Sim I didn't recognise but is probably a townie) tried to speak, she would be interrupted by one of the spectating Sims complaining at the Grim Reaper for killing/taking away some other Sim they knew. One or two tried throwing drinks at the Grim Reaper, but missed (the gallery was too far away from the defence stand) and accidentally soaking other spectating Sims. Naturally, this caused several more arguments... The Grim Reaper just stood there, shaking his head at the immaturity. The judge was just about to throw the gavel at Haf Burb for getting into his third fight of the trial when I woke up. I can confirm that none of the witnesses actually had the chance to make any witness statements while I was having the dream...
|
I dreamed about Sims last night. There were were four apartment residents in Belladonna Cove that actually don't exist in the game, but somehow they were in my dream and I was trying to figure out how I wanted to play them.
|
Not exactly a sims dream, but obviously sims-influenced. I dreamed last night that my husband and I were in a large gathering area for volunteers to fight a massive fire. The man standing next to me was pregnant and I was trying to talk him out of taking the risk. I would have told the authorities, but I knew I was the only one there who would know a pregnant man when I saw one.
|
Yesterday I dreamed that Cassandra Goth was in Strangetown, trying to get information about her mom. At one point she was laying on a therapy couch, while Vidcund Curious was asking her questions in an affected Freudish accent with increasingly-exaggerated emphasis on "e"s. Both Pascal and Lazlo were watching them from the doorway, Pascal taking notes (and rolling his eyes as Vidcund sounded more and more ridiculous) and Lazlo giggling.
I don't remember much of the actual questions, except for "Und did you seeeeeeeeeee the alieeeeeeeeeens take her away?" |
On an entirely un sims related site where you hatch and raise dragons I've been trying for ages to catch a rare Christmas egg, to the point where I see the egg pattern when I close my eyes lol. Was trying again and realised I had the picture of the egg in my head inside a little thought bubble just like the sims have. XD
|
A few nights ago I dreamt that Priya Ramaswami (or however you spell her surname) was pregnant with God's daughter, and I was pregnant with his son.... no idea where that came from, apart from it being Christmas... I've never even played Priya and Sanjay!
|
I once dreamed that, due to some weird game glitch, Mrs. CrumpleBottom suddenly became selectable - her portrait changed to one that doesn't actually exist in the game. I remember panicking and frantically opening up folders to check the objects.package file for corruption.
Well damn, because initially, especially in The Sims 1, I loved that Old Prude for smacking Sims around with her cement-filled purse, and while I still do today, every time I look at her my mind goes straight back to the objects.package file, and I just never enjoyed the "Get a room!" reaction she does as much as I used to. |
A long, long time ago (over 3 years at least), I dreamed I had created this attractive Sim and then pulled him out of the game (which was like a dollhouse) and uh... proceeded to uh well... abuse my power as a giant godlike player handling this tiny humanoid that was barely bigger than my hand (in the most non-PG 13 ways). Awkward.
|
Yesterday, I dreamed that the sims of Strangetown and Widespot were in an all-out brawl with the Game of Thrones characters. The sims had set up my Granny's garage as their home base, as it was on a hill. I think the GoT bunch was set up by a nearby pond. They were pretty evenly matched -- though there was some friendly fire in the form of bestworst cat Doomsday latching onto unfortune Strangetownie Cooper's face -- until Joffrey showed up driving a bulldozer.
(I don't even watch/read Game of Thrones! All I know about it is what my Mom tells me about it and some clips I've seen on TV!) |
I don't dream of any specific Sims families and stuff, but a lot of sims appear in my dreams just like real people. In fact I'd say 30% of the people who appear in my dreams have the appearance of sims. They don't have plumbobs and I don't control them. They just look like them. I guess I play too much. Even when reading books, I picture the characters as Sims (usually base game / no cc sims, but sometimes they have hair that I've downloaded) - I always picture Alaska Young from "Looking for Alaska" as having that long straight hair and the private school uniform, with face 2.
|
Nope, no dreams. But right after TS2 came out I was at work and saw this guy with a tummy and waddle just like Pascal Curious in the beginning of the game and before I realized it, I had thought to myself: "He must be alien-pregnant". Made me laugh!
|
When my game wasn't working I used to dream about what I'd do with my families when I got it back XD
|
This is kind of embarrassing.
Way back when TS2 was announced but not released, I had just read this book which was all about dreams, and it had a section on lucid-dreaming, which is where you are aware and can control your dream. The advice is to get into the habit while awake to look at clocks twice. In dreams, clocks and other kinds of display don't work properly, so you look at it and when you look back a second later, it has changed dramatically. In my dream I was standing in my kitchen with my sister, looked at the clock on the cooker and realised it had changed so much I was dreaming. "I'm dreaming!" I said excitedly. "I can do anything! Hey, we could play The Sims 2!!!!" And so, I did. And it was so exciting and awesome XD. I don't remember if it was anything like the actual game but I find it amusing that I was in a dream world and could do anything - fly or breathe fire or anything and I chose to play sims. |
I actually had a dream about sims last night!
I dreamed that EA had accidentally released the beta sims 2 instead of Sims 4, so I was playing on this 'special beta neighborhood' named "#9TEST" Some families looked normal, but some had really messed up mesh, the only way I can describe it is clothing and hair similar to Jijimon from Digimon (but some had weird pointy witches hats and different families in the family bin had different outfits, one family had green and one had purple. Can't remember about the rest) and because they weren't fully functioning, they'd appear at my Sims houses and kill them. Also instead of being like a watching-over-them kind of God, You had to possess each Sim, but I was stuck being 1 certain Sim (which looked weirdly like my maxis-made Simself) who had a daughter (who looked like my maxis-made Simself when I first started playing Sims as a child), and it was a really difficult game, whenever a sim did anything - there was a 75% chance something bad will happen. At one point my Sim was stacking shelves and everything on the shelf fell onto my Sim, another time she took a shower and burned herself. Other stuff happened too but I can't remember much. Anyway, these scary jijimon looking monsters had entered the lot (which I could tell, because it made my game super slow) so I quickly exited and then went on these forums to ask people what to do to delete the jijimon and I got loads of dislikes and everyone was telling me "YOU SHOULDN'TVE PLAYED THE BETA" and "YOU'VE CORRUPTED YOUR GAME NOW" etc etc. Then I woke up. |
Indeed... and not only ABOUT the Sims, but a dream IN the Sims (or at least set in places and with characters that I've created). Last night I found myself in a strange hybrid of my X-Men school and my old real-life highschool, with both real world friends and Sim characters in the classes and I had achieved the Teleport ability a la the Ninja at some point... Very strange to see some of my Sims talking to some of my actual teachers, now that I'm awake and can actually think about it... kind of strange to have a dream about being in highschool again too, since I'm out of college at this point even! Still, I had superpowers- I'll always take a dream where that's true!
|
I had a dream about Derek What'shisname (The Newspaper Boy) who was really Dustin Broke. He was riding a four wheeler and spun mud up all over me and my daughter who was like four years older in my dream than she actually is. Derek/Dustin was very apologetic about it though... lol
|
When I was younger, I re-installed sims 1 after getting bored of sims 2 and i played it for a few days then one night I had horrific stomach cramps (like doubled over and crying painful) and somehow I managed to sleep but it was like i could still feel the pain, and i dreamt about my sims 1 family and they were all starving to death and in my dream that's what was causing my stomach to hurt. when i woke up again, every time i thought about my sims sharp pain would hit my stomach. I think it was some kind of bug going around but i didn't play sims again for a while...
|
The night before last, I dreamt that I became a live-in babysitter for my crush's daughter. Which would of been normal, had it not been in the Sims world. When I woke up, I thought to myself about how creative that could of been. I thought a lot about how I could make that into something of a story, and it kinda stuck in my mind all day.
So, anyone wanna guess what I did when I started playing yesterday? |
Yes, yes, I have. Somehow Sims gets into your brain when you are in a play phase. These ebb and flow over the years. My son (also a gamer but on a console) says he often dreams of his video games & characters. He often wakes up and tells me in the morning about the ideas and dreams he had while asleep.
|
I had a Sims1 dream last night - sort of. There was a glass cabinet with dolls that looked like and could be controlled like sims, but the controller was awkward and I couldn't save them from the kitchen fire. Very annoying.
|
I had a general dream a couple of nights ago, not really Sims related, but me and my cousin were at the EA studios, which most likely is NOT as scenic as my dream was (in my dream, the studio was located right near a gorgeous medium-height cliff-side overlooking the ocean, but there was construction going on). People were gathered wanting the Sims 4 CAS demo and trying to get in the building to voice disapproval, and I thought it would be cool to go too - Then I got stuck in a pipe as part of the construction (because OF COURSE that is how you get in the building, right?) and it quickly ended after I got out.
I know this is the Sims 2 forum, but it was recent, and sort of Sims related. On another note, a couple of months back, I had a dream about using the CAS in Sims 4 and there was a little option near the bottom right of the screen. A checkbox that said, "Make as Townie," beside it, which is a feature I would like, but isn't really necessary, of course. And in my dream, it was in a good place and seemed logical I liked in my dream how it was defaulted as not checked (as normally you wouldn't want to make townies, I assume), but you had the option to check it anytime during Sim creation. Talk about a tiny, random feature. I mean, from what I've read, I think there are bigger issues to be concerned with... During my dream, though, I remember being pleasantly surprised to see it as I had never thought of that and thought it was a nice small detail (...which I guess I really did think of, but whatever...) Other than that, I can't recall any, but Sims 2 has been out for years, so I'm sure there has been one or two, but not of my characters. |
This morning, just before I got up, I dreamt I was taking a Sim to visit his friend. Not on a computer screen, but on a lead like a dog. When he got near his friend's house, he started pulling on the lead. And his arms were flailing about.
I think I must have been thinking both about my (Real Life) dog, and about grammapat's Bella Goth with the stuck arm. Weird! |
I've been so concentrated on attempting to make usable nice looking terrains that last night in my dream I was in the game. I'm not sure if I was in SimCity 4 or Sims 2, because the land and roads around me were colored/textured as they are in the Sims 2, but there was terraforming going on around me it was terrifying. I was just hanging around observing oceans swallowing the land, mountains rising from nowhere, and then the whole thing being leveled until it started up again.. It was crazy.
|
I don't often dream about Sims, but this night I dreamed I got the ultimate TS2 pack, and accidentally installed it without backing up my downloads.
|
I was playing a household of three sims on a community lot, and they were dancing. The mouse got bumped and the lot lagged while the game camera was pointed at an empty part of the lot, with animated musical notes drifting over. Suddenly, I realized that all three sims were gone from the HUD! And I couldn't get the camera to move because the game was lagging so bad!
I woke up in a panic, and was relieved to find I wasn't playing at all! |
Last night, I dreamed that I had started up my game and opened up Strangetown, which immediately started glitching. So, I loaded up an earlier save and it was glitching, too.
In the earlier save I opened in the dream, I opened up a lot that had Howitzer Grunt in it and, after a popping sound, he was replaced by a white dog. My thought when that happened was "Oh well, it's just Howitzer." and then more identical dogs started appearing until they filled the room and crashed the game. That's when I decided that the saves were fine, the game install was just corrupt and needed to be reinstalled. (This really brings to light just how unpopular Howitzer is: not only do most of the residents of Strangetown dislike him, so does my subconscious!) |
This morning I dreamed I was busily rebuilding a premade urban neighborhood that was chock-full of delightful, appealing sims grouped together in logical ways. They all lived in apartments, and each apartment complex had a theme. A tenement full of poor families (and clotheslines everywhere) was one, and a set of upper-middle-class townhomes entirely occupied by a werewolf pack was another. The rest have gone all dream-blurry for me, but I remember a wealthy, elderly transwoman who lived in a penthouse and had some kind of Auntie Mame relationship going on with the younger people in her building. Plus there were some really rocking community lots, though the ice disco is the only one I remember clearly.
The problem was that each and every apartment building that housed these wonderful sims was incurably awful - not just ugly and suboptimally designed, but unplayable. The builders had been building with move_objects on, with the result that they'd piled things on top of one another willy-nilly so no one could get to them, all of the doors and windows sank into the walls, the werewolves had no usable common area, and the tenement-dwellers had such small apartments they couldn't get into them. So I was having to study each building and family, move everybody out, bulldoze them, and start over from scratch in the same place, trying to replicate the aesthetic of each building, only in usable form. Because the layout of the city was perfect, and I wanted to do the minimum necessary rebuild to make it usable. When I woke up I was deeply saddened to realize that this place didn't exist. And now I can't remember the names of the sims or anything specific that would allow me to recreate it. |
Last night I dreamt that some really nasty Sims were trying to get me alone so they could beat me up. I was trying to stick together with my friends (also Sims) for protection.
I think my Sims dreams are always a bit like that: I'm right in the game with them. I'm never just sitting at the computer playing. Maybe it's the ease with which I can imagine myself as a Sim that makes me so keen to look after them well. Especially if I think I'm going to need their protection! |
I have quite a few dreams of building ideas and have to sketch them out when I get up. I have woken up in the middle of the night laughing at some funny name I thought of, too. Of course I write it down real quick before it's forgotten. Then I tell myself to shut-up and go back to sleep.

I dreamed of the Newsons the other night. They were real, but they'd been aged out of synch with cheats because of a challenge play going on in the neighborhood. I was Gavin and I was trying to help Gabriella learn to study because she was in danger from the social worker, but she was redlining fun so bad she was having screaming anxiety attacks.

If I play enough, I start connecting my real life issues to the Sims. Like whatever I dream about, my brain finds a way to make a Sims-metaphor out of it... or I dream like my Sims characters were real people in my life. (I used to have a strong bond to my plush toys, too, why not to virtual dolls lol...)
I think I think too much about this game. o_O |
Last night I had a dream of entering a build contest with 1x1 lots themed to things like OFB, Uni or BV. I can't get used to even a 2x2 lot without thinking it's really huge. Although community lots are mostly tiny, there are bigger ones now just to have more activities in one place.

I dream of Rollandia on Aos Zeocratus, the fictional city and world of my Sims where I am mayor and Dictator. Living with my ideal Sim family including a Time travelling 'Butler' and Ghost Maid. And every thought and Dream of this place involves elements from one of the following games I have
Sims 2 (every day life in my fictional world) Sims 2 Castaway (in the form of the Kiwi Islands, my private getaway) Simcity 4 (The city of Rollandia) Sims 2 PSP (Strangeton island in Rollandia's harbour, in SC4 it has 3 cemeteries and a medical research centre) I think about what my ideal society would be, and Sims too much. |
I once had a dream about playing The Sims 2, which sparked my nostalgia for the game, so I bought it (and then got the ultimate collection for free, practically wasting that money). This is the reason I still play it, because I played it very often since 2007 as a kid.

I have dreamed about sims sometimes, I like that, I like dream with The Sims

Someday I have a dream about two riches sims twins and two poor sims twins. The riches twins was mean with the poor twins(Sinces their childhood) The rich twins killed the poor twin's parents. Because the rich twins don't wanna see the poor twins happy. And the rich twins kidnapp the poor male twin's twin sister. So the poor twin was sitted on the floor and I went to talk with him. And I explain they was just sims, controled by me, the sim become shocked and he said: Do me a favor, help us.
So I wake up shocked because the dream was so real. |
I dreamed that I had been hired to babysit Widespot's Junior Mann. Grown-up Junior Mann.
Apparently, Lana had decided to go from being the power behind the throne to an active participant in the family business and the elder Manns were concerned about leaving their son unsupervised while they were away "at the office." I tried to talk them out of it -- saying that Junior was old enough to take care of himself and how I'm the only child of very protective parents, but even my mom and dad trusted me in the house alone at his age! -- but they wouldn't have it. I tried to protest again as the elder Manns left, but Rich snapped for me to keep the boy out of trouble, then slammed the door. Worst of all, Junior didn't seem at all surprised at or embarrassed by the arrangement. He just shrugged and said he was their baby boy. Luckily, I got woken up by the phone before I had to drive Junior around so that he could decide what diner, restaurant, or fast food place he wanted to eat at. |
I dream of seamless roofs

I recently dreamt of making a new megahood.
And right now i'm thinking of new rules for it! :D |

Today, I dreamed that I was looking at someone's Let's Play of Widespot, where they decided to make the Harts into a Kardashians-equivalent by adding in a third sister. The third sister -- younger than Candy and Rhett, but older than Goldie -- was named Lacey and had Angel's eyes and jaw/chin, but her other facial features were all Valentine. Lacey had a toddler son, who looked a little too much like Hamilton.
I remember thinking that the whole thing was silly and fun -- since the player was presenting it as a reality show parody -- and kept wondering if Peni had seen it yet and if I should scroll down to the comments to see if she had or not before emailing her the link. The name of Lacey's son was never mentioned in the episode I read in the dream, but I kept hoping it would be revealed to be something like "Firey." |
I've dreamt that I was a Sim in the Sims' world on many occasions. I remember waking up rather emotional over something happening in those dreams a few times as well.

Lots of times. Last night for instance, I dreamed I was in a classroom, we were gonna watch a documentary, and my twin sims Crown and Crab sat behind me. I had a memory from earlier that day, appearently I had randomly asked Crown if I could hold her hand (I could). The teacher asked Crab to go and fetch the rest of the students. He did, but seemed a little grumpy. The dream told me I called them Crown and Crab and that Crab's real name was Chad. And Crown had cut her hair short, I couldn't believe I had forgotten to compliment her on it, and I thought to myself "then I'll have to change her hair in the game too, if that is how she wants her hair!".

This morning I got up early to go to the farmer's market and crashed a couple of hours after getting back, so I lay down for a bit; but I knew I needed to get up soon to take the cats to a vet appointment. So I'm lying there playing sims in my sleep, trying to catch some cute toddler pics (toddler month is coming, y'all!), when I thought I'd better check the time. But I wasn't at my simming computer, which has a clock above it, so I had to alt-tab out so I could get the time on the computer; and it wouldn't change screen.
At which point I remembered I was playing this game in my sleep and, since I couldn't see the clock with my eyes closed, obviously I couldn't read the computer clock. I spent a little while trying to shut the game down so I could wake up. It took a little while to realize that closing down the dream wasn't actually a necessary preliminary to waking up. |
Some days ago I dreamed about some post-apocalyptic gathering, and some people there were sims but I seemed to be the only one who knew, so I was thinking about screwing a little with their heads going "any of you ever felt like you've got a green diamond hovering above your head?".
Later in that dream, I was doing a makeover on one of my sims, along with said sims daughter. Me and the daughter disagreed on what we were gonna do and got into an argument about the matter. "She's my mother, you know!" "Yeah, but she's mine! I made her! I mean, I've known her since she was a baby!" My favourite sims-dream, however, is from half a year or so ago, in which me and my sim Crab were good friends, riding some sort of tuk-tuk. Crab: I was thinking about starting to call you "Lush". Me: To me, you have always been a "Crab". Crab: Aww, really? *hugs me* Then a larger tuk-tuk comes by, and ours kinda get stuck in it, causing us to go backwards. A few moments later: Me: Well, at least now we've got to be out of it. Crab (sounding amused): Actually... we're not. Me (laughing): Look dignified, look dignified! |
Not yet. My dreams are weird enough!
|
I sometimes dream that I'm actually in the game with the sims I've been playing with, usually after I've been on a several-hour long binge every day for a few days. Like I'm talking to the sims i've been playing with earlier that day haha

One time I dreamt I cashed my whole computer and couldn't get my games back. Does that count?
