Neat Mods/CC That You've Found
 

I was gonna post this as a thread for a singular mod like I've done in the past, and I suddenly got the inspiration for this. I realized there wasn't a dedicated thread for this sort of thing in the TS3 section, so why not make it.

The idea is this - let's say you found this great mod or bit of CC that potentially isn't hosted here on MTS - though it can be (So something like Tumblr for instance). You wanna let everyone else know about it too. Just post about it in this thread. Give a short description of what it is so people can know if it's something that'll interest them. Then provide a link (Preferably to the creator's page instead of the actual download link, if you can. Never know what else you might find!)

I'll start. I found two great things today. One's a new mod from LazyDuchess hosted on their Tumblr. It adds a SetHour cheat to the game (like TS2), where you open the cheat console, and then type in sethour and whatever time you want to (incredibly useful for testing I'm sure.)

The next is from FreezeSecret, also on Tumblr, with a fix for the "Homestyle Ascension Device" Stairs. It fixes the strange multiplier on them that causes it to have an off-putting discoloration every fourth stair. With this fix, now they look much better and more uniform.

It's the same as the Look at This Awesome Thing I Found thread in the Sims 2 section, right?! I agree that Sims 3 also needs a thread like that!

I haven't been to MATY in quite a while and I just recently saw this incredibly useful mod.

Redundant Wall and Floor Hider - http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...ic,23189.0.html

It basically hides the extra presets of wallpaper and flooring in the catalog, so that they'll only show one of each instead of like 3-4 (Since both are CAStable in TS3, extra presets are redundant.) Makes it much easier to find what you want.

This default replacement of the wildflower spawner is one of my all time favorites. They are so pretty and the vases are amazing. Simple things like this make me excited.

Firstly, thank you @Jathom95 for starting this thread. It should prove useful for a lot of us TS3 stalwarts, and I will certainly post a link to anything interesting I find. Secondly, thank you @Flora2 so VERY much! I have been looking all over for a Victorian swimsuit for a female child and now, thanks to the link you posted, I finally have one! And there's a lot of other interesting stuff on that tumblr too. Oh frabjous day!

I've been combing all over for new/different CC. A lot of my links went dead or to "virus" sites after I stopped playing Sims 3 for a long time (I was Planet Zoo obsessed). Now I alternate.
I search through Simblr and Tumblr and usually get interesting links that way. Also links to "dodgy sites" so you have to be smart.

If you just want some finds pages for CC I can post them. Maybe you will come across something new. Some things might mess up your game/lack of updating. These two sites are recent.

Another amazing mod made by Lazyduchess!

Basically it makes clothing items load much faster. Only downside is that if you have 'show compact clothing/shoes/accessories' setting in Master Controller (+ Integration module), they are automatically disabled. Still better than making you wait for the items to load smoothly..

Found this one just today! So you know that creepy smile you sometimes see male sims doing while they're walking, even if it doesn't reflect their actual mood?

It turns out this is exclusive to YA and E male sims. For whatever reason, it's baked into the animation for them so they'll end up doing it constantly. Other age ranges and female sims don't have this at all, they either stay neutral or use an expression that matches their mood.

This mod by simbouquet gets rid of that so that it's consistent across the board for everyone.

They've just released another mod. This one is for standing idles, specifically the faces sims make while standing around doing nothing in particular. You know how they look pretty horrible by default?

Simbouquet has ported the TSM facial expressions to TS3 with their latest mod, which are a marked improvement. There's less clipping and they look far more natural now. Check out the before and after if you'd like to see how they'll look. A picture's worth a thousand words!

PhoebeJaySims has a newly released bubble bath mod on her Tumblr, where the bubble bath runs out eventually and you have to buy more, which adds realism to the game:

I simply love this blog, it helped me so much to find maxis match's cc especially furniture. :lovestruc :lovestruc this blog is a must-have !

Lots of nice things on there, but I noticed a couple of those downloads listed were apparently corrupted? Like some showed up as such on Dashboard as having corrupt Child+Adult categories, but a few others weren't and yet caused stretched out toddlers and floating heads in CAS when I was testing them. I tried seeing if I could fix it myself with S3PE, but it doesn't say they're for children and yet disabling Teen makes Dashboard think they're ok when they're not in-game.

But regardless, Lazyduchess's mods are quickly approaching NRAAS mods in terms of their necessity for an improved TS3 game experience (not to say NRAAS is second-place, but that Lazyduchess is filling in a lot of long-standing gaps in TS3).

For those of you that like vanilla-friendly enhancements like I do, there's this mod below. It's a replacement for the headline effects (speech, thought, etc) with higher resolution ones that keep the exact same style, just nicer to look at on an HD monitor.

Anything that will relieve me of the tedium of looking for some item of cc, which I positively know is installed but still can't find when I want it, will be very welcome.

Here's a useful little mod I just stumbled upon. It allows you to leave doors open - and I could certainly find a use for that when shooting pics for story telling (there's a helluva lot of doors in Brelor Castle!)

It says it's for patches 1.31 - Latest (I'm 1.97) I've tested it out in game on several doors and it appears to work without any problems.

Mod below by criisolatex that adjusts the CAS lighting. Makes it softer, so that the edits you make to your sims' faces will much more closely match how they look in-game. Comes in two versions with different intensities.

Found this one just today scouring reddit. Prevents sims from auto-leaving a group due to another sim (like inactives) being rude to one of them.

Wow! I can't wait. I've been longing for a fix like this since forever. Getting good night time screenshots of buildings has always been a major head ache for me.

Remove stupid junk from UI mod makes the UI look better by removing the moon and thermometer. It also removes the pack and CC icons from the catalogs and removes stupid effects like sleeping ZzZ.

It sadly doesn't remove the show store content button.

Of course, by late Victorian times London, Paris and New York may already have underground railways, but Nantrelor hasn't progressed that far and probably never will. But for the sake of game play, there being no road traffic except for horses, my resident sims need some way to get about quickly. So I'll have a few of these scattered about the countryside, looking like plain old farm sheds. That should save my sims some shoe leather.

I had another replacement subway station before which looked like a medieval hovel (available from the same source) but this one suits the Victorian aesthetic far better.
