Sims President?

If there were a president in the sims 2 game, who would it be?

or...

Who would you choose as your two candidates?

Sim Sample!

No work and free drinks for every sim!

His sidekick (or first man, or deputy or however you want to put it) would be @andrewgloria , who- whilst not a sim himself, he wants to be a sim, and I'm sure no-one could disagree that the sims in andrewgloria's Veronaville are the happiest and most well looked after sims EVER.

(Andrewgloria would do all the actual work and policy making, and Sim Sample would just look cool. Or something.)

Peni Griffin 13th Nov 2024 10:07 PM

God, yes, please put AndrewGloria in charge! No more poverty or death!

I have a setup that's an agricultural colony that lost contact with the mothership and the leader - an elder when I made the hood - will die soon, at which point I need to appoint a new one. This was part of the original plan. But I was a little vague about how to play the competition for new leader, with a vague idea about the sim with the most friends, or the Popularity sim with the most friends, getting elected and taking over the leader's house and its little extras - a computer and access to aspiration rewards, an extra bathroom. But I didn't mesh that concept very well with other parts of the neighborhood setup, in which each household consists of four adults of varied genetics, each contractually obliged to breed with two other members of the household, with both artificial insimination and anti-jealousy potions available to facilitate the matter. Well, if I go with the Popularity sim with the most friends, that'll be a member of a group marriage that already produced one set of twins and a singleton and is on second pregnancies already. If she moves the whole household over there, the leader's house will be too small, and the house she leaves behind is too big the leader's son's family - which at that time will consist solely of the leader's son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. So she should only take some members of her household and how could she pick? She wouldn't want that and would probably not compete! So I don't know what to do and I'm too depressed after the US election to play it right now anyhow. I will take suggestions for the future, though.

sturlington 13th Nov 2024 11:35 PM

I don't know Sim Sample personally but to me he gives off a Zaphod Beeblebrox vibe, minus the extra head, of course. Who of course was president of the whole galaxy.

Peni, I sympathize with your dilemma, as one of the biggest blocks of my Sims playing is moving house and the hassle that entails. I think a little timeout is the best solution. Come back with fresh eyes and perhaps a solution will come to you.

I could only choose from all the premades I am familiar with. And in accordance with the laws of the universe, anyone who I could think of who actually should be president wouldn't actually want the job, and vice versa. So I think it will come down to a campaign between General Buzz Grunt and Mary-Sue Pleasant, with neither candidate being really ideal.

Well, you know, he is so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in him for a month. He is so hip he has difficulty seeing over his pelvis. Or as The Therapist put it, "Well look, Sim's just zis guy, ya know?"

Oh, if SimSample gets elected, Andrew Gloria would be VP and Peni Griffin can be Secretary of State.

I wanna be Secretary of the Interior, which means that I get to stay inside all day and play games on the computer..

AndrewGloria 14th Nov 2024 2:14 AM

I am honoured to be selected as Sim Sample's nominee for Vice President. It makes me feel quite unworthy. However I am totally behind Sim Sample's bid for the Presidency. I am certain he is the leader that we need to make the Sim Nation great again! And I promise to do my best to eliminate death and poverty among Sims. In the twelve years since I first arrived in Veronaville, no one has died there, nor indeed in any of my other neighbourhoods. Indeed no one has even grown old -- all the Elders in my game are either pre-mades, in-game generated NPCs, or else I made them in CAS as Elders.

Quite motivational...yet what do you and Simsample have to say about the recent skyrocketing rise in alien abductions? I mean...there have been a good few happening in Pleasantview - which could start a war with Strangetown!

Well, if SimNation has equivalent presidency qualifications as the US, aliens would be disqualified on the grounds of not being natural-born SimNation citizens. (That said, Lola, Chloe, and Tycho Curious would be natural-born citizens, as would Johnny and Jill Smith.)

Those Sims who have been following the news of the recent American election in the SimCity Chronicle, might find the prospect of an annual presidential election a bit alarming.

If we're thinking of an inheritable headship of state, why not have a hereditary Grand Duchess like we have here in Veronaville?

As of 2014, the President of the United States of Imagination, of which SimNation is a state in the southeastern region, is Jack Bass of the Misery Party. The Misery Party platform is to convince citizens that they want to be miserable and fulfill their fears instead of their wants. They are a big fan of simultaneously raising taxes to unbearable levels and cutting services to the bone (except for prisons, they want to tear down school and hospitals and replace them with more of those). They want to eliminate tax exemptions for non-profits because they despise charity, close down ethically run businesses because they are creating unfair competition for the corrupt ones, outlaw anything that is fun, and legalize destructive behavior such as theft and murder. I've yet to actually create that Sim, but I want to... some day.

President Jack Bass is reaching his term limit in a couple of years, and Tom Nook is thinking of running under the Joy Party ticket. The joy party wants to make the imagination joyful again! (Yes, that's a satirical Trump reference, but the Joy Party maintains a neutral position on real life political parties and candidates. The Misery Party loves all real life political parties because the division they both cause induces misery).

Dear MTS Members and citizens of the United States of Imagination!

I don't think the Misery Party would get many votes if they stood here in Veronaville. We Veronavillians have got more sense. Moreover, anyone wanting to get away from the Misery government in the United States of Imagination will be more than welcome to come and settle here, especially in the Veronaville suburb of Monopolis, where a lot of land is available for new-build housing. We are a very welcoming community.

Sim Sample would make a Party Party, I think!

Justpetro 2nd Dec 2024 10:47 PM

My Sims object and need to inform you of the following state of affairs in the hood:

1 party want the Curious brothers to stand, and don't care which one of them is the President or King.

The 2nd party says no to duchesses, have they forgotten what happened to kings and queens in Revolutions? Besides, there are 3 stupid kings already.

The 3rd party will take Sim Sample but insists that his cabinet must consist only of sims.

The 4th party says they do not care, but they will not pay any taxes, no matter who wins what or is appointed to what.

The 5th (and biggest, it grew quickly) party says they are quite happy to do things themselves without any government interference whatsoever. As soon as this clown show is over, they will disband and simply go back to do things themselves.

The 6th party says they want a referendum about whether aliens should be allowed to vote first.

The 7th party says they have 3 kings as members who will simply inform their subjects whom to vote for and think they can win because the kings have a lot of subjects. Of course, the kings have all inherited their kingdoms and will keep a strict eye on what the 7th party do before and after the election.

The 8th party has split up and there are now 11 new ones. At least one of them think they will be able to form a coalition with 3 or 4 other parties.

The parties are still fighting in court over the names, all of them wanted to use the Sim Party, except for Party number 5, who are probably going to be known as the Self-Sufficient Sim Group.

Thank you.

Lets make a new sim party then.

1) the curiouses are the royal family. PT9 is king consort, jenny queen regnant, Pascal, Vidcund, Lazlo, Johnny, and Tycho are Princes. Lola, Chloe, Crystal Vu (from marriage to lazlo), Nyssa Curious (vidcunds alien baby), and Nova Curious (crystal and lazlo daughter) are princesses. Ajay is a Prince after marruing Lola, nervous is a Prince after marrying Pascal, ophelia is a princess and then queen after marrying johnny, and buck is a Prince after marrying jill.

Kids of spares can choose to let their kids be princes or not (or be princes of another town) or else everyone is be coming a Prince of strangetown after a few generations.

2) no body is a duchess. Jenny is a queen jill a princess.

3) the cabinet is only sims

4) no taxes

5) we do things ourselves with no government interferenze

6) they are allowed to vote

7) we have a whole royal family and they can appoint high officers

8) this party can fuse with other parties

Justpetro 4th Dec 2024 3:26 PM

The above offer has been taken to the sims in my hoods. This is how some of the parties reacted:

1. The Curious Party declares that they do not want a king; they could simply ask one of the 3 traditional kings (whose kingdoms existed long before Sim World) to rule them if they wanted a king - or if they wanted to be ruled. They just trust the Curious boys - if there has to be a President - to be smarter than anyone else.

2. The Self-Sufficient Sim Group says it remains a clown show, and they have no interest in having kings or queens around (they live in relative peace with the 3 kings here already). The spokesman for the SSSG added that everything has been run by members of the SSSG forever and that they are going to continue as if there is no clown show. Since they are against having a president, a cabinet is obsolete. "And thank you very much, but if we, for some strange reason, need officers, we will appoint them ourselves".

3. The Tax Revolt Party has also released a statement. They refuse to fuse. They may consider a coalition with the SSSG, but not with anyone else. Their only concern is to stop any taxes being paid if anyone is elected or appointed, because who is going to pay these elected/appointed sims? "NOT Us!!!"

4. The Royal Party states that the 3 traditional kings are their members and no other made-up, Instagram royal family is of any interest to them. The Kings are not going to rule Sim World, they are simply going to vote for the Royal Party, whose members have been taken care of the 3 kings for centuries.

5. The Referendum Party wants to inform everyone that the referendum will now have 3 issues to vote on: 1. Should aliens be allowed to vote; 2. should an extra king be allowed and 3. Should there be an election at all. They will decide what to do after the referendum has taken place.

6. The Sim Party wants to let you know that they are delighted by their court victory. Now that they have won the right to use the name, they are going to think about policies and stuff. It they cannot think about any good ones, they will boycott the election.

The other parties have chosen not to react until all of them have properly constituted and legally approved names. In the meantime, they are going fishing.

Shhh, you don't want the Misery Party voters coming over there! Although to be fair SimNation is a safe, upwing state for the Joy Party, it's all of those downwingers in places like Crocodile Isle and Bowser's Castle ruining it for everyone. Maybe it's time to rethink the Electoral College in the USI....

Justpetro 4th Dec 2024 5:18 PM

Statement of 3 other parties:

The Purple Cow Party is going to vote for the cow. Cows are traditional symbols of fortune, and they think all sims can do with some good fortune (and more money).

The Unloyalists stated that they will vote for any party in exchange for cabinet seats. That includes the Misery Party. Or Sim Sample. Or whomever. Their point of view is that, if they vote, they at least want their hood to be represented somewhere out there. One condition, though, is that their cabinet member(s) will not move or travel anywhere, the Pres or King can come and see them.

The Southern Party says they do not like the idea. They prefer a good old democratic system with at least 300 parties and a ballot longer than a normal person's arm; a proper fight until enough parties have enough votes together to actually govern and a number of coalitions forming, breaking up and causing chaos every month or two in the towns. (To be fair, their members are new residents).

The other party leaders and their members are still having a royal time at the fishing pond. Some are fishing, some are playing chess, some are grilling hot dogs, and some are playing kicky bag.

1) keep the traditional kings, have the president be the highest ranking member of the political carreer.

2) no royal family then

3) this is its own party the Nyssa party

4) aliens can vote. The extra king would be the son of the former king when the king dies. And yes there is an election.

"In their travels, Arthur comes to learn that the Earth was actually a giant supercomputer, created by another supercomputer, Deep Thought. Yes. To me it's less about being a direct carbon copy of Trump himself, but rather Landgraab being a set piece to the story I've created and in which he just happens to parody Trump's mannerisms. He (Landgraab) is the villain in the Plot of Land tale, and is the main antagonist that fuels the fire among the town's denizens. But you know, even villains/antagonists can still be lovable sometimes.

Justpetro 13th Dec 2024 9:06 AM

Around half of the sims here like the 42 idea.

42 presidential candidates will be ideal. The hood only needs 3 more parties to have 42 candidates.

The other half of the hood snorted.

The Purple Cow is in trouble, though. 2 of the 3 kings have proposed that she be sold at an auction. Their birthdays are coming up and they have a lot of subjects to feed. The 3rd king says they should simply celebrate their birthdays together, expropriate the purple cow, add a cow from their own herd each and then can invite everyone in the hood to the royal birthday party.

The cow said in a statement that she will fight back and that eating presidential candidates is not a democratic principle.

The Referendum Party thinks there should be a referendum on whether the cow should be eaten or not.

Mr Silke made a rare public appearance after he was approached by various groups. He pointed out that the cow was not a real cow and asked sims to go back to what they were doing before the clown show had started. He has agreed to draw up a petition but declined to lead the anti-election group, citing his 9 kids, job and lack of time as reasons. This of course laid to rest the speculation that Mr Silke was going to join the Curious Party after his alien abduction.

Rumour has it that several Sims are prepared to take up the anti-election quest.
