Causes

It appears that sometimes the SavedSims folder is set to Read-Only and thus .Sim files are not able to be copied to this folder when installing Sim Households via Launcher. It may affect the placement of .sim files for individual Sims, as well.


Actions

step 1

You can rename the SavedSims folder and try reinstalling. Taking note of issues listed in the following guide.

step 2

Follow the guide in Sim Files Not Appearing.

step 3

After we've done that, load a NEW game.

  • Does the content now show up in a new game?
  • You can Quit without saving now.


If when loading a NEW game, the content shows up, try next on one of your save games.

  • Does the content now show up in your save game?
  • You can Quit without saving here, too.

Found the Sim? Great! The above guide does not help. Go to Next Step.

Start over on new user folders.
