Greek Houses

This article is all about Greek houses in EP1: University.

How do I join a Sorority or Fraternity (Greek house)?

There must be an existing playable Greek lot already on the campus, and it must be able to accept new members. There are two options for joining a Greek house:

  • You can join a Greek house by clicking on your phone or cell phone and select the Greek House menu. Next select Join and then choose the Greek house you want the Sim to join. Several members in togas from the Greek house will arrive on your lot. You have six Sim hours to reach the specified Daily Relationship scores with the toga guys. An information panel will pop up showing your remaining time and progress. Hint: When the Greeks arrive, immediately invite several members to Hang Out. Once your relationship with them has gained some points, invite them all to play Kicky Bag. Kicky Bag builds up the score quickly.
  • You may also join a Greek house by clicking on any Greek member that is a visitor on your lot and select “Ask to Join Greek House”. This will start the above mentioned Pledge scenario. Hint: Show the Greek member around and increase your Relationship before you try to join.

Once you are a member of a Greek house, you may remain at your residence, or move into the Greek house.

If you fail to join the Greek house the first try, the best way to tagain is to first build up relationships with the members that show up when you try to join. Invite them over or call them on the phone before trying again, and get your relationships with all of them up to a high level. Then your next try should be easy.

How do I make my campus lot a Greek house?

Dorms cannot be converted to Greek houses. Private housing lots can be converted. To convert your Private residence into a Greek house, click on your phone, choose Greek House, then select “Apply for Charter”. You must have at least two members of your household before you can apply to become a Greek House; if you have less, the option is still available, but the dialog box asking for confirmation will not appear.

How do I view my Greek house status?

Greek status can be viewed by purchasing a Greek letter in Buy mode (it's under Decorative - Wall Hangings). Once you have a letter, click on it in Live mode and choose “Check Greek House Status.”

How do I increase my Greek house level?

You must have at least one Greek letter purchased from Buy mode to get beyond level one. Housing levels are determined by the number of friends the resident Greek lot members collectively have.

  • Level 1: 0 friends, 8 member max.
  • Level 2: 3 friends, 10 member max.
  • Level 3: 5 friends, 15 member max.
  • Level 4: 7 friends, 20 member max.
  • Level 5: 10 friends, 30 member max.
  • Level 6: 15 friends, 32,000 member max!

How do I gain new pledges in my Greek house?

To gain new pledges, you must click on a visiting Sim and select “Ask to Pledge.” The Sim will automatically accept if the Relationship score is high enough (> 50 Daily and > 10 Lifetime should almost always work).

What is a Pledge?

Pledges are autonomous Sims that can be Influenced for free (no Influence points are spent)!! Pledges are required to do your bidding for 14 hours, so use them well. After their required pledge time, Pledges become full members and cannot be Influenced for free.

Why is my lot no longer a Greek house?

If all playable Sims move out of a Greek house, it loses its Greek charter and becomes a Private Residence.
