Presenting (after much fighting) Katanna (Kat) Vanderbelt

Fighting? Yes…you see Kat is a Vanderbelt, ‘bred’ from many generations of very wealthy and proper ladies. To be born a Vanderbelt, means a life long commitment of being well mannered, groomed, polished, educated and marrying only into another family of (almost) the same caliber. There are many ‘duties’ that are EXPECTED to be done as a lady Vanderbelt, as there are many family traditions.

While Kat was growing up, she never felt comfortable being a Vanderbelt. She would much rather do things considered preposterous for a proper young lady. Kat would rather spend her time playing with the children of the Mansion ‘help’, wearing pants and climbing trees. They had many maids, world renowned chefs, butlers, drivers, grounds keepers, personal trainers and masseuses just to name a few.

As Kat grew older she became the first ‘black sheep’ of the Vanderbelt namesake…and she couldn’t be happier! She transformed herself to be the opposite of anything considered ‘Vanderbelt’. Her parents finally gave up, removing her from any trust funds, wills, etc. Kat was free to be her own person – she turned ‘goth’ – had tattoos and body piercings, dyed her hair a pink, and wore all black – including makeup.

Until the day came for the Vanderbelt’s to present their most recent debutants. This was one of the ‘expectations’ Kat’s family would not budge on. After completely ripping apart any remaining ‘family ties’, Kat conceded – for ONE night.

Out came the peircings, off came the goth make up and a top designer gown was specially made for Kat that covered her tattoos. But Kat refused to change her hair, even for one night.

This would be the only night you will ever see Kat in a gown, acting as ‘proper’ as she remembered, but you can see in her eyes…a very sad debutant.
