Venturing outside of Marvel Comics, here's the famed Witchblade from Top Cow Productions.

Sara Pezzini, one of New York's finest homicide detectives, had a chance encounter with the mystical weapon, known as the Witchblade. She's been struggling to master it ever since, but she's left wondering, does she control it, or does the Witchblade control her?

The Witchblade bonds to a host and gives her amazing, supernatural, powers.
