Compared to all of the stuff on the marketplace, it’s actually interesting. It’s a Music Den kit, which enables us to make music shops and recording studios. This is also the first new violin in the game SINCE LAUNCH.

Makers still haven’t understood that we don’t need yet another living room or bedroom set, yet…

You know what players want, EA? A stinkin' GARBAGE DISPOSAL. IS THAT SO HARD. I was shocked to find that the appliances section was so lacking. I downloaded a garbage disposal and some different dishwasher designs because EA robbed us.
Let's just have a Sims game made by modders. Then it'll be more fleshed out.

Just tested the 21st July update.

Not surprised to see nothing has changed.

The marketplace sucks but this is so useful. There is NO basic wood paneling in the game. After a decade of using the base game paneling (which is only in 3 colors), this appears.

I’ve been fairly calling out their misses, but I must praise the win!

I thought garbage disposals were coming in for rent. Only for everyone to discover… it’s just a dishwasher.

There priorities are always strange. When we haven’t even gotten cars still in 2026 (a big corporation that created a game about simulating mundane life in city and surbant towns where fucking infrastructure even includes fake car models parked on roads), it doesn’t surprise me they can’t get basic and stable objects of the series in this game. Not that it even matters, because bug fixing is and should be on their plates and table of to-do, but it is funny thinking back how the swimming-less pool game in 2014 was so barren that if they had not released proper dlc and patch updates, it would have died out sooner.

Even GTA VI is more bearable to wait for, because the same year GTA5 was out as TS4, that game at least had features to keep the players invested playing it for hours. TS4? Not so much when it didn’t even had dishwashers (even then they’re still useless than dragging dishes to the sink, unless they updated the function of it that Im not aware last time I had Sims use the dishwasher). I know I’m complaining about trivial things, but its one of the many things that were WTF about the game.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

I'm not defending Maxis, but IMO, comparing GTA 6 to TS4 is like comparing a elephant to a canary. In this context, Take Two is the elephant in the room. The budget alone for GTA 6 is bigger than the GDP ( gross domestic product) of some small countries.

EA on the other hand, they're so lazy they won't even update the banners in the background for FIFA. This isn't going to get better / improve when they go private. If anything, I expect them to be even more shady as they won't have to tell the public anything at all.

Speaking of EA going private, the EU has no issues with PIF.

European Commission approves acquisition of Electronic Arts by PIF

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Electronic Arts (EA) Inc. of the U.S. by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on competition in the markets where the companies are active.

EA buyout greenlit again!

So, the buyout has been completely greenlit...

I am so dissapointed with the EU regarding this decision. I thought that the values of the EU are to protect and fight against opression. But, apparently the EU supports a company (PIF) that is actively funding opression. The EU is such a two-faced political establishment...

The EU is primarily an economic union with some other values sprinkled in for EU members. Neither EA, an American company, nor Saudia Arabia are members of the EU, so there is very little they can impose. The EU is not about fighting oppression, but it aims to protect the rights of their members.

This decision was about whether the merger would violate any competition issues within the EU.

I guess I worded my thoughts incorrectly. I wanted to say that EU promotes tolerance and equality or at least I think so. I never wanted to say that the EU is only about fighting opression.

It is stated in the list that the EU is combating social exclusion and discrimination as well as promoting social justice and protection.

Having said that, this deal, regardless how big of a role the EU has in it, has completely flew over their heads (The European Commission). Not much can be done about it anyway; PIF is branching everywhere and it is so overwhelming... And it is not the only company that is of questionable morals.

Also, EA games suck anyway. Their new TS project should flop due to various reasons and not just because of the buyout. That is a bit harsh, but EA is so greedy that something needs to be done about it.

Electronic Arts Nears Completion of Record $55B Buyout

Electronic Arts is set to become a private company next week after clearing the final regulatory hurdle for its $55 billion acquisition by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, one of the largest leveraged buyouts in history.

The video-game publisher said in a Securities and Exchange commission filing Thursday that all regulatory approvals required to complete the merger had been obtained. It expects the transaction to close on or about the close of trading Aug. 4, subject to remaining customary closing conditions.

It is over then... This will have huge implications on TS. EA tries to assure us that the values of TS won't change. But, TS will surely change in terms of quality and direction. Since EA is going to be in debt, many employees will be laid off, which will in turn cause a drop in quality and also quantity. Some studios will also be shut down.

That is putting the moral aspect of the buyout aside. PIF profits from human rights abuses, and EA being bought by such company is just apsurd.

Andrew Wilson and his ilk of EA have spent many years trying to convince people things won't change. It is the typical, corporate, boiler-plate speech that every company gives when a business is sold whether it be a big business, small business, public or private.

The whole deal is sideways. PIF wanted EA, but didn't want the bills so EA took on the debt which they are fully responsible for even if business plummets and they don't make enough profit to cover the bills. As the saying goes, people can't fix stupid.

This is a disaster of their own making. If the whole thing implodes, consumers will be gaslit for not spending enough in the name of 'saving EA' from their mess. There will be no pity party from where I'm sitting. They're not even worthy of dragging out the worlds' tiniest violin....

I'm really not sure how there can be an even worse drop in quality. But then, I've been watching from the sidelines for the last 12 years, and let's just say, it's been educational.

Well, it’s official. Uninstalled everything. Paralives is still a bit green, so I won’t fully navigate there yet but I will enjoy poking fun at the Sims moving forward.

Same thoughts. I’m not sure how there can be concern for quality drop when it hardly had since the release. However, I guess everyone has a difference preference and I keep forgetting to aknowledge that people liked this game.

I’m just booting up my City Living safe file and get the Sim to either work on his aspiration milestone or just wonder around the world and see If I get to finf something shiny to look at.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

I got For Rent finally. No, no, I didn't buy it myself. A friend got it for me as a git on my PS4 version. I'm loving how flexible the apartment/"residential rentals" are because unlike how it is in TS2 AL, I can finally make proper townhomes with balconies and not have the game freak out and make the units unrecognized. But apart from that flexibility, I'm not really seeing much in-depth gameplay. And the Tomarang world is too small and way too heavily themed. So much so, that It'll likely just become a dumping ground for the all those background Sims that seemingly never stop generating.

As a side note, I'd be curious to know if the same team behind the PC release also works on the PS4 release. If that's true then they (Maxis/EA/Jared fuck-face Kushner) need to allocate more resources to the console release. I've noticed many bugs that I don't recall experiencing on the PC version at all.

Previously known as HarVee. Just call me Yin from now on.
