Honestly, the first time they announce the ambitions equivalent with the reveal trailer, my first thought was “really? Only three careers?! With two of them being what we already had before???” And the players were okay with it (?????). Sure, hospitals and police station weren’t active lots, and scientist and detectives are reimagined inventors and private investigators, but I mean… it seem like a let down. But I guess the first expansion packs always in the series started as the weakest one, so I guess you can excuse that to certain extent.

Now, get together was much more pack of a meat as a runner up, it being a club-theme pack is what reminesce to me more like a showtime thing than night life or late night EPs. Showtime at least offered the three options of active quest paths, while Get Together is just…. there. To get your sims together to just… idk, dance like their freshmen? Come to think of it - why couldn’t the group system came in as a gamepack? As I used to say, “the new expansions packs are now retitled World Packs” Alias, Get Together was better than nothing with the expansion that came before and after when looking from the trailer the number of things you could do in recreational means.

I still enjoy Get Together. Lovely town, nice architecture with plenty of lots and things to do.

The similarities are obvious and I am just going to leave it at that.

I think that patreon is a much better alternative for the cc creators and makers. You get a lot more for your effort and you do not have to be obliged by a contract to make sets all the time.

Believe it or not, the marketplace failed in the first week of its existence. I understand why that happened: it didn't arrive on console, people can download free alternatives and people are fed up with the greed.

Week 3 of the marketplace appears to be going well.



I still hate Get Together as an expansion. It feels like stuff they cut from the base game. The base game launched with nightclubs and bars. Yet, all of the gameplay items for these lots (and the pools…) are in Get Together. If I’m not mistaken, Pool lots were later patched into the game and weren’t a base game lot, but was a Get Together lot. Considering how bare the base game is, it’s clear the content was resold later. Even one of the base game dollhouses has Get Together items in it.

Had the base game wasn’t so barren, proper night clubs would be ok thing if saved in another expansion pack (much like nobody stopped absent weather system to buy TS4 at that time). People were fine to buy TS4 when it had no exclusive shop goods to buy or rabbit hole to visit. One of the reasons I think people get bored playing this game (well, with base game at very least) as there’s no incentive to leave your home lot. Like I do wonder, what reason do they find for “oh I mean Sim needs to travel to another comunnity lot too…..

Also, quite rich they wanna do that, when their company is promosing to go full generative AI way. Way of showing the core values the company stands for. I feel like they will do “fuck all” and are yapping their mouths just to make the Marketplace not as bad looking when it already has a negative rep from the avid players.

Someone is selling a 16 item clutter set for 600 moola. The only way to get 600 Moolah is to spend $7.50 or $10.00. Much worse than the cost of the set.

I still stick to 20¢ per item, based on kit pricing. 16 clutter items should be around $3. So, you spend double for the set, then paying even more for the moolah!? Who is doing that!?

Andrew Wilson is leaning into this whole AI thing as much as Krafton is. The difference between the two is Krafton talks about it with their full chest. They've made several announcements that it is AI or bust. Nobody should get it twisted, Krafton isn't any better, they're just being honest about it. Andrew Wilson only goes full chest when he has to report to his Wall Street overlords. If EA is sold, all of that will go away. Any tiny particle of accountability will disappear.

It is rich that Maxis is stating that the Marketplace will have human eyeballs on it. We also have eyeballs and talk about stuff. If players get pissed off and fed up at some point, Maxis will start with their usual gaslighting. Maxis always resorts to blaming the community when their seats get a little warmer than they'd like. They're already breaking their own rules. Nobody should expect them to play nice. This is nothing new, water is wet.
