Default What are your Sims 2 plans for 2025
There was a similar thread last year, but, hey, it is a brand New Year and some of us have plans, don't we?

I want to spend a lot of time playing, but this year, I also want to get back to building. For the past year, I only made some terrain maps (but then, I learned how to do it and I honestly enjoy making terrain maps too).

And perhaps, this year, I can host that building contest too.

I plan to:
- Move Packrat Wordpress archive to GoS (the one in tumblr isn't handled by me anymore since few years ago so it remains as is as long as vegan-kaktus decides to keep it alive)
- Do the same for my personal blog (though target place for my blog is unknown at this point, perhaps Pillowfort or simblr.cc? Its turn is after packrat then and I'm nowhere near done with the packrat archive yet.)

I just want to get rid of those blogs and tumblr too while at it but I want to keep the files available and somewhat easy to browse still. Though considering how slow Simfileshare is these days "available" maybe isn't the right word to use with it since half of the time I can't get anything to actually download from there but well.... it sure is stored there.

Nope, not going to say. That way I don't have to admit to it when I inevitably fail. XD

The usual:
- Play more TS2
- Get moving with some chapters (hiatus has been long enough now)...
- Do some CC projects

I recently started my first bacc (currently finished year 7) so I'm looking forward to seeing how the neighbourhood develops!

I think I'll have to reuse some of my plans from last year.

*Build the rest of the lots I want to make for Downtown. A store for buying cars, a bowling alley, a town square, a dingy little pub and possibly a casino.
*Try playing with custom careers. I've never downloaded one before and I'm getting tired of the limited choices I have in my game.
*Try at least one challenge. My only experience with playing challenges are two attempts at a legacy over fifteen years ago (one I abandoned shortly after the second generation was born, the other one even earlier than that). I'm particularly interested in trying out the asylum challenge and apocalypse challenge.

Still haven't reached generation eight, but most sims in gen seven are adults by now so it's likely to happen soon. I didn't build any of my planned Downtown lots so let's say I'll make at least one of those this year. I did download some bee-related custom career last year but haven't actually tried it yet, so I'll put someone in it this year.

The challenge one I did do - I finished up a bachelorette challenge in Veronaville as well as got started on a variant of the tiered apocalypse challenge with the Desiderata Valley premades. I haven't gotten far in it at all, so my goal with it for this year is to have someone reach the top in at least one career, and preferrably finishing the entire first tier.

I am Error.

I know this is boring, but really just want to get back into playing. I was going through a many years long depressive episode where I pretty much never touched anything I used to previously love. My almost-childhood-made sims stayed as they were, waiting for the 2024 that was the year that finally made me a lot better. So I want to polish my custom hood (really coming together now), make a university one because I don't like anything premade or seen online, and just sit down and actually play instead of only thinking of my sims in my head.

Also, I'd like to contribute to this forum more. I've been lurking here since I was 12 years old, and easily recognise everyone that posted on this thread, but none of you will recognise me. While it kind of is the nature of a discussion forum, I do feel like if I know so much about your games/thoughts, it's only courteous to also engage in the conversation, lol. Also, this is my safe space on the internet, so I really want to be a part of it.

Copying my plans over from that duplicate-esque thread I made at 2 am.

2024 I wanted to do these:

1. Graduate 10 more Sims. I have a lot of Uni sims.
Yes.
2. Make and release a tattoo overlay posebox
No.
3. Finish updating my sims 2 story blog so its up to date
No.
4. For really real-real start one of those artisan businesses
Yes!
5. Finish giving all the males that need it, body hair.
Probably. I will say yes.
6. At least one sim transition in 2024, I have been wanting to try out that mod.
Partial!
7. Publish and take pics for at least 1 chapter of the sims story I wrote nearly 100 pages on in 2023
Partial!
8. Host another discord workshop on how to build swimmable lakes
Yes.
9. Play more elders (get 10 sims to expire w/ no cheats)
So close...7 out of 10 kicked the bucket.

and I did 4, and partially 3 so 7-ish out of ten isn't bad!
I also took 3K pictures last year but I never make a resolution to take x amount of pics because I never need the motivation to do it.

I will continue to work toward my partials but I want 2025 to get back into my story roots and really for real update several sims stories I have lying in my WIP pile.
I have some gameplay milestones I want to reach on account of how slow I play, some engagements, and even weddings! I'm going to bring out my old resolution I never fulfilled and really try to get that children's posebox completed.

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

I had a small stroke just before the new years. So my goal will probably be recovering my strength enough to play.

Finish and upload CC I've been working on for...nine years now? I have so many different things I'd like to share, but I put on hold due to not having motivation for a while, so that is something I'd definitely like to do.

That and play more!

2025 Goals

1. Have more sims run businesses. Current plan is any fortune sims who have reached Business Tycoon will buy a business fitting to their interests.

2. More blonde sims. I'm ok on redheads because of some prolific families, but I'm determined to not let recessive features die out.

3. Figure out a way (mod, manually flagging) to make first cousins once removed flag as relatives. This many generations in, my sims all have pretty big extended families and it's so annoying to have to keep sims with the same last name from autonomously getting crushes or something. Your grandfathers are brothers, stop having chemistry!

4. Stop avoiding constrainfloorelevation like the plague. I've used it in little ways, like building house on foundation with attached garages, but I usually try to live without it's benefits. The problem is most of the time, I come up with a reason after I've already built the house and gutting the entire interior to make a more aesthetically-pleasing staircase seems like way more effort than just living with the ugly platform staircase. But I feel like if I practiced more, it wouldn't seem like such an insurmountable task.

5. Finish lots of half-started tasks: pull the trigger on seasons syncing, jobs generator, career outfit fixes, save the plastic surgery file as genetic for the sims with broken face templates, etc.

Finish with the update of my two published hoods and continue with Aberon Garden and the university. Calmly and taking it as a hobby, not a job. xDD

Also create a personal blog where I can post images and things about sims. And the more important for me now, continue with my real life projects!!
