I remember stumbling across these games at a computer store about six years ago in a collector's set. Al Lowe has a web site with the music from these games (very cheesy stuff)

Leisure Suit Larry is a character from a saga of adventures games that began in 1987, in those boring days when computers had monochrome screens, sounds only from the CPU speaker and the mouse was just an animal with no relation with the computer save in "Tom & Jerry" games. But, to counter the lacking in the interface the games made a great efford in the side of the content: Leisure Suit Larry is one of the most fun games ever created, there is a joke at every corner of it, and the character is turned down in all conceivable manners, and may suffer the most funny deaths ever seen.

Let's say it this way: the Leisure Suit Larry saga is for the software gaming industry (or at least the adventure genre) what The Simpsons is for the animated shows industry.

Anyway, now that I have made a sim of him, I will make a sim story about part of one of his adventures and post it, so you can know what type of character we are talking about here



I hope you typed "get collector's set" in the air to add it to yout inventory!

I love it...I had all the early DOS LLL series and often found myself still awake and playing at dawn (and having to go to work in an hour) while trying to get him out of a plane seat, or onto a window ledge, or away from Ken's inccesant babble, or whatever. Ah, the good old days, having to change 5 1/4 disks all the time to keep going. I have never been able to look at spinach dip the same way again and every time I see a slurpee I remember his 50 gallon drink, the Grotesque Gulp. Grotesque Gulps and other Larryisms have stuck in my families language...I'm going to meet my brother and sister-in-law in Lost Wages next month. We will be sure to be on the lookout for Larry. :haha:

I have all the Leisure Suit Larry games and really, really enjoyed them back when . . . I liked that you could type in questions or comments and the game would answer you with a prepared answer . . . occasionally you would ask him to do something and the game would say "that's a situation that we really never thought of". Anyway, they were a lot of fun and they are what got me into playing computer games. Thanks for this.

Passionate Patti Please!!!! I have been wanting this sim 4 a long time. But as a LSL fan, I implore U please not to make his nephew simply cause Al Lowe was banned from making LSL 8:Lust in Space and had no hand in making Magna Cum Laude. On top of that, Sierra fired this fantastic creator. And as for Magna Cum Laude itself, it flat out sucks compared to the ol' series, which was funny, sexy and memorable.
Sorry for the rant, but if U played the seires as I have and then tried the new 1, you'll wanna go to EBAy and pay whatever the cost for the old sega. Cause Larry was the South Park of the game world--I kid U not. PS--I have Larry 4: the search for the missing floppies lol
