Could you point me to a tut on how to do this for custom stereos too?

I don't suppose this is compatible with AL and M&G yet. I have this in my game and the GLS stereo had visual effects even after my sim turned it off. I hope you will be updating this soon. I really like it. And thanks!

It works fine in my all-EP game: the GLS stereo doesn't have flying notes when turned on.
Your problem seems a little different, though, because you mention the effect being visible even with the stereo off...
You could either sell and re-buy the stereo, or exit the game, remove the mod, start the game, turn on and off the stereo (until no notes are visible any more), and then install again the mod and restart the game.

lol, that's bizarre. i just recently got gls so i totally didn't know. glad to hear there isn't any compatibility issues.

what about mp3? does it turn off the effects while sim listening to mp3?
