Nice job. And really useful for expanding logic-skilling options.

Good job still struggling to get it work step by step because in my game (all EP's) it currently seems to show material that should be at other tv-channels but maybe that's just commercials and maybe it's only shown because I have actual science channel clips still in subfolder and TS2 isn't very good with subfolders. Could be also I messed up with what would count as my last EP, as I thought it would be Mansion and Garden but not sure is that really an EP. At the moment my sims fun motive also seems to be decreasing really hard when watching, but that could be because she is relatively playful and gets bored fast. She is gaining really strong boost out of cooking channel though - but as said, it might very well be her personal problem.

Love this! One thing I discovered on mine, is I had to remove the little clips out of the subfolders and place them directly into my new Discovery folder in Movies/Broadcast in the Documents folder. So perhaps this is what Acadia up above me needs to do, just take the clips out of the subfolders and put them directly into the folder, otherwise it only shows commercials one after another. I have the Ultimate Collection on 8.1 too, in case anyone else has issues. I changed the broadcast.ini in both Fun With Pets/sp9 (mansion and gardens) and Apartment life both before running it, so not sure if Apartment Life was necessary.

edited it because I double posted with my thanks too, so putting it all in one.

I love it, so could you maybe make more?

Thank you gdayars. I'm not quite sure what you mean about subfolders, but yes, clips that you want to play on any channel have to go directly into it's Movies > Broadcast folder - in this case, the Discovery folder. Sub folders wouldn't work. Did you just chuck the collection folder in there, with the clips inside? That would be why if so. I'll edit the instructions to be more clear on that. I apologise for the confusion.

Okay, help please! I have been struggling to get this to work for about a week now
I have done everything right in the broadcast.ini and saved and then went to test it and had the blue screen, so I went back to look and it was back to how it originally was!! So I tried to edit it again and now I am getting the "Cannot create the C:\Program Files\EA Games\ The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TS Data\Res\User Data\Config\Braodcast.ini file.
Make sure that the path and file name are correct.

Someone please help me, what do I do? My sims have the channel, they watch it but it just flashes blue and now it's telling me I cant edit the file to make it work right?

For those struggling with "Cannot create..." and "Don't have permission..." messages:

Make sure the file is not open in any other application, including the game.

Start notepad from the start menu by right-clicking and selecting "start as administrator."

Now open the file you want to edit, edit it and save as normal. if it prompts for permission, just agree.

---

Which gets the file saved. Unfortunately my sims are still watching the Blue Screen of Discovery-Death.
Gonna figure it out....
